Position Overview:
Mentors are industry professionals who provide world-class technical support to our learners in their Nanodegree journey. All our mentors are handpicked through a rigorous selection process so that we can truly be #studentfirst. 

As a mentor, you will be meeting virtually on a weekly basis with your students for community support, live office hours and other activities. 

Required skills/qualifications:

• Fluency in English both written and spoken
• Eligibility Requirements: Mentors must have at least 7 years of industry experience or a master’s degree in the relevant field.
• Technical competence: Swift Programming Language (including advanced topics like Protocols, Generics, and Error Handling), SwiftUI for building modern, declarative iOS user interfaces, SwiftData and/or Core Data for robust data persistence and state management, iOS Networking, Concurrency, and Application Authentication protocols, Xcode environment and the complete iOS application lifecycle.
• Graduate from a Udacity Nanodegree Program is a added plus
• Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking, organizing technical talks, or webinars
• Positive character, trusted by the students, creating emotional ties in the group
• Flexibility at their current job to take this challenge part-time as an external contractor

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities as a technical mentor will be divided into three major tasks.

1. 1:1 video calls
2. Virtual Technical Deep-Dive Sessions
3. Group Q&A sessions

Personal 1:1 Session:

• Provide personalized support by addressing learner questions related to course content and projects.
• Prior to the call mentors are expected to review the students' previous project submission(s) - provided by the Mentor Success Team when available - and/or any specific areas of the Nanodegree content or project that the student has expressed confusion or difficulty with.

Technical Deep-Dive Session:

• For concept deep-dives, mentors will come prepared with a slide presentation that reviews a Nanodegree concept in more detail, share different use-cases for the concept to broaden student perspectives and understanding, and hold a Q&A session with the learners.
• For project walkthroughs, a mentor will come prepared with a slide presentation that outlines each element of the rubric to help learners understand expectations and typical problem areas they may encounter. This can include a mentor “grading” a sample submission to demonstrate what mentors are looking for when reviewing projects.

Group Q&A Session:

• Host regular sessions (via Slack or video) to address learner queries related to projects and coursework. No prior preparation required.

With the growth of our iOS app, being the #18 productivity app in the App Store category and also our recent recognition as Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we find the need for a Senior iOS Engineer to help us support the new user base as well as work on new and exciting projects to push our missing forward.   

This is a key role and ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, passionate about making product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

We are a flat organization that allows anyone to become a leader by showing excellent technical skills and delivering results consistently and fast. Work ethic, solid communication skills, and obsession with winning are paramount. 

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.

• SOLID principles, the ability to write every single class according to SOLID
• Experience with Git and understanding of different Git strategies

The United States Based Salary range for this role is: 140,000-200,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience

The Renewed Vision macOS Software Engineer will develop innovative features and technologies that will drive the growth of our platform.

You love working on software for macOS and have a track record to prove it. You might even have a bit of a love-hate relationship with macOS and AppKit — knowing that the built in technologies are great, but they do have their shortcomings. You write code with a product focus knowing that there is a balance to be found in the tension that exists between code perfection and customer value. You have the skills and desire to work with a multi-platform cross-functional team in developing and delivering solutions that will move our products forward.

We want people who:

• Have extensive experience developing and delivering high quality software on macOS, this could include previous experience with Swift, Objective-C, SwiftUI, AppKit, Xcode, XPC.
• Are deeply familiar with Objective-C and Swift
• Can focus on details while understanding the importance of timely, high-quality, updates
• Understand the balance between refactor now vs. refactor later
• Consistently seek to learn and develop both personally and professionally

We really want people who:

• Are comfortable with C/C++ and practical experience using these languages with Swift/Objective-C (if you have C++ experience but not Swift/Objective-C experience, please look at other roles within our company as this role requires Swift/Objective-C experience)
• Have excellent written and verbal communicator
• Take ownership of projects, work with loosely defined specs, and drive for results

Our best developers will have:

• Experience developing and integrating cloud services into a native application
• Worked on graphics applications using OpenGL, Metal, or other graphics frameworks
