Position Summary
Primary Responsibilities
-
Build and sustain strong relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and centers of excellence aligned to Acadia’s Medical Affairs strategy
-
Engage key opinion leaders in meaningful scientific exchange, research discussions, and education on current and emerging therapies
-
Support clinical research activities, including trial site engagement and cultivation and facilitation of investigator-initiated research proposals
-
Develop and maintain deep scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise across Acadia’s portfolio
-
Collaborate cross-functionally, in compliance with all guidelines, with Regional Business Leaders and Account Business Managers to support aligned field execution

Provide strategic field insights that inform Medical Affairs and broader organizational decision-making
-
Identify disease state insights and compound attributes that contribute to product differentiation and scientific value
-
Deliver high-quality scientific, clinical, and educational support to internal stakeholders and external healthcare partners
-
Represent Acadia at medical meetings, congresses, educational programs, and support Commercial activities including speaker and sales training

Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills
-
Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in a relevant discipline
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with hands-on scientific or medical affairs responsibilities
-
Prior Medical Science Liaison experience within a field-based medical affairs role

Demonstrated scientific and clinical expertise, with experience in rare diseases, epilepsy, neurology, or psychiatry
-
Strong working knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and clinical considerations impacting pharmaceutical and managed care environments
-
Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and drug information to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders
-
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with residence within the assigned territory
Position levels:
- Medical Science Liaison: $139,600 - $174,500 requires an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a scientific discipline, 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the medical, clinical, and/or pharmaceutical field
- Sr. Medical Science Liaison: $176,000 - $220,000 requires an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a scientific discipline, 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the medical, clinical, and/or pharmaceutical field, including 3 years as an MS
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

We are currently looking for a Clinical Field Specialist (CFS) to join our Women's Health sales team!
The CFS will drive revenue growth and market expansion through direct engagement with individual MFMs and OB/GYNs. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships, while developing and executing strategic business plans that accelerate revenue growth. The CFS will support both established and newly launched products, providing clinical expertise, educational support, and hands-on training in technical product applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Increasing revenue and driving market development through direct sales to individual MFMs, Ob/Gyns and Genetic Counselors.
- Sales efforts include effective prospecting, cultivating and maintaining key relationships.
- Creating and implementing a strategic business plan to grow revenue quickly in your geography.
- Sales efforts will focus on currently marketed products and new product launches.
- Will play a critical role in the success of the organization.
- This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have an access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.
- Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Science, Nursing, or a related healthcare discipline
- Minimum of three years of physician sales experience in the diagnostic laboratory industry, ideally within genetics
- Strong background in medical or biological sciences, with experience in clinical diagnostics a plus
- Deep understanding of the OB/GYN and MFM markets, with proven success selling into these specialties
- Demonstrated success launching new products and driving rapid revenue growth in new markets
- Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Gmail, and Salesforce.com
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to present effectively to diverse audiences
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to assess and prioritize opportunities effectively
- Adaptable, self-motivated, and results-driven, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to think strategically while executing tactically
- Demonstrates urgency and a strong focus on closing business

The total on-target earnings (OTE) package includes a competitive base salary along with uncapped quarterly commissions. Beyond OTE, the compensation also features a car allowance and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
The compensation package listed is for 1st year OTE, which are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. On-target earnings (OTE) represent the total potential income an employee can earn by achieving 100% of their performance goals. It combines a base salary with commissions and serves as an estimated figure rather than a guaranteed amount, providing a guideline based on average performance outcomes.
