The Financial Institutions Team
The Financial Institutions Team at OpenZeppelin drives the adoption of security solutions for financial institutions moving onchain. As tokenization and digital assets gain momentum, we partner with the world’s largest institutions with industry-leading security audits and battle-tested open-source smart contract libraries.
Our mission is to generate revenue through best-on-class security services while building innovative solutions for a rapidly evolving market. We operate cross-functionally with Pre-Sales, Partnerships, Ecosystem, Project Delivery, and Legal to ensure a seamless go-to-market strategy and flawless execution.
What you'll be doing
As our first dedicated Institutional Sales Lead for the APAC market, you will be instrumental in executing our go-to-market strategy - from outbound prospecting to deal closure - while laying the foundation for a scalable sales organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full sales cycle with financial institutions, from lead generation and prospecting to contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Leading discovery conversations with key stakeholders - including C-suite executives and internal Solution Architects - to surface client needs and compellingly articulate OpenZeppelin's value proposition.
- Applying a consultative, solution-selling approach to diagnose complex institutional challenges and map them to tailored OpenZeppelin security offerings that demonstrate clear business value.
- Driving revenue growth in the region by consistently meeting and exceeding your sales targets.
- Identifying strategic partnerships in your region to generate qualified leads and accelerate deal velocity, then handing off to our Partnerships team at the right moment.
- Staying ahead of rapidly evolving market trends and competitive dynamics to proactively shape outreach and positioning.
- Representing OpenZeppelin at key APAC and global industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build relationships and uncover new business opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline forecasts, tracking performance metrics, and continuously refining your sales approach using data-driven insights.
You have
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise or institutional sales, with a proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of Web3, digital assets, and the tokenization landscape; hands-on experience in the crypto industry is a strong plus.
- Residency in the APAC time zones - Singapore/HK are preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the gravitas to engage C-suite and senior decision-makers.
- A well-established network within the financial services or blockchain ecosystem, including founders, executives, and industry leaders.
- A data-driven mindset combined with the creativity and adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment.
- AI-native proficiency.
- Demonstrated success working in a remote-first, globally distributed team.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
Nice to have
- An existing network spanning TradFi asset managers, hedge funds, market makers, custodians, and financial intermediaries.
- Experience rapidly generating and testing new sales motions ("fail fast") and distilling learnings for both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong acumen in GTM engineering or AI-powered sales tooling.
- Technical background or familiarity with smart contract development, especially in Solidity.
- Fluency in Japanese, or Korean.

What we're looking for:
Technical expertise in:
- Rust, Go, TypeScript, Solidity, Move, Cairo
- Cryptography / Zero-knowledge proofs
- Polkadot/Substrate, Ethereum, Cosmos, Solana, StarkNet, zkSync
Strong candidates have:
- Hands-on blockchain infrastructure experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- Shipped projects or open-source contributions
- Clear communication in English
- Self-directed and reliable
Good to know:
- Most projects are full-time engagements (35-40 hrs/week) for the duration
- You must be able to invoice as a freelancer or through your own company
- We work remotely with reasonable timezone overlap with Europe

Salary & benefits:
Salary and benefits will be negotiated separately based on the candidate’s skills and experience. Please note that we hire our talent outside of Finland with contractor status. This means you'd invoice the company monthly and pay your social security contributions.

What you'll be doing

Review smart contracts for the top decentralized applications before they get launched and present findings and vulnerabilities that the protocol can have to the client.

Team up with one or two auditors and review code line by line and try to hack it.

Working on proposals to make code easier to understand and use in the future by sharing good practices

Conduct open-ended research around cutting edge blockchain technologies.

You have

Hands-on and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: software development, cyber security, mathematics.

Experience with public Ethereum or other EVM-based blockchains.

We are looking for an APAC Developer Relations specialist (must speak Chinese and English fluently) to help builders deploy on XION with minimal friction. This role involves being the primary point of contact for developers, providing hands-on support while continuously improving documentation, examples, and tooling in collaboration with the engineering team. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, with expertise in at least one of TypeScript, Go, or Rust, and experience in DevRel or open-source contributions. You should be highly organized, proactive in addressing developer needs, and passionate about blockchain technology’s potential for mass adoption.
Responsibilities
- Top priority: help builders deploy on XION as seamlessly as possible, and continuously improve the developer experience
- Be the lead point of contact for builders deploying on XION, providing proactive support to builders across direct Telegram chats, Discord channels, forums, and community chats.
- Address developer pain points by improving documentation, examples, SDKs, and APIs in collaboration with engineering.
- Gather and prioritize developer feedback for product and engineering team enhancements.
- Advocate internally for the developer community’s needs and concerns.
- Build and maintain relationships with developers to foster a supportive community.
- Stay updated on blockchain and software application trends, tools, and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong, proactive communication skills. Builders always come first. Never let over 15 hours pass on a support request without acknowledgement that the message was received.
- Organization: you will be juggling many different requests, across many different teams, across many different channels. It is important to stay organized so that builders receive the highest level of support. In addition, repeated requests will need to be logged, surfaced and addressed in documentation & improved developer tools to streamline future support.
- Strong background in Computer Science through education or self-learning.
- Minimum 3 years in developer relations or technical evangelism for consumer APIs, applications, blockchain projects.
- Advanced understanding of one of: Typescript, Go, Rust
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience.
- Experience in managing open-source projects and maintaining high-quality documentation.
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills, passionate about supporting developers.
- Proactive and empathetic problem-solving approach, committed to continuous improvement.
Desirable Knowledge
