We are seeking a Staff Quality Engineer owning and delivering quality for large, complex financial trading systems. This role will be part of our Platform Services team.

Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

• Build comprehensive, bottom-up test strategies for the Platform Services organization
• Write test plans covering various customer use cases, including functional, compliance, and legal aspects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8–12 years of software testing experience
• Experience in fintech, trading, or financial services
• Experience leading quality efforts for internet applications
• Expertise in test automation (UI, API, or other layers)
• Experience enhancing test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, K6, etc.

Overview

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to own the quality engineering function end-to-end. In this role, you will be responsible for designing automation frameworks, setting standards, and embedding quality into every step of the development lifecycle. As a core member of the team, you will not be a seat at the back of the sprint, but will work closely with engineers, product, and design to ship reliable, production-grade Web3 experiences. Mesh is a global company with headquarters in San Francisco, California USA. This candidate will work closely with the Engineering and Product teams spread across North America, Europe and India.

What You'll Do

• Architect, build, and maintain robust end-to-end test automation frameworks using tools like Playwright.
• Design test strategies that cover the full stack: UI, API, smart contract interactions, and wallet flows
• Write and maintain tests for Web3-specific user journeys including wallet connection, transaction signing, contract interactions, and on-chain state verification
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and own the health of those pipelines

Who You Are

Automation Expertise

• 7+ years of experience in QA engineering with a strong focus on automation
• Deep hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Cypress; familiarity with others (WebdriverIO, Selenium, Puppeteer) is a plus
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python)
• Experience designing and scaling test frameworks from the ground up, not just maintaining existing ones
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and integrating tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.)

Web3 Knowledge

• Working knowledge of core Web3 concepts: wallets (MetaMask, WalletConnect), transaction signing, smart contracts, gas, RPC endpoints, and on-chain/off-chain interactions
• Experience testing dApps and writing tests that interact with or simulate blockchain state
• Familiarity with testnets or mocking Web3 providers is a strong plus

The annual base salary range for this role is $100,000-$200,000 in San Francisco and New York. The compensation range provided may span multiple career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. For candidates outside of San Francisco and New York, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market and location-based pay band. The base salary range listed excludes commission (if applicable), equity, and benefits. The pay range represents the minimum and maximum target for new-hire compensation. Actual compensation may vary and may be higher or lower depending on individual circumstances.

We're looking for a Senior SDET who thinks deeply about quality in systems that are inherently non-deterministic. Agentic AI doesn't fail the same way traditional software does — and testing it requires a new toolkit: eval frameworks, prompt regression, tool-call reliability, adversarial scenarios, and more.

You'll own the entire quality infrastructure across our product portfolio — from test data and CI pipelines to the standards and culture of how we ship. You'll work directly with product, devops, and AI engineering, with no layers between your decisions and their impact.

What You'll Own

• Test infrastructure, test data, test processes across the entire product portfolio while working with Devops and Infrastructure engineers
• Test Framework - build and enhance automated testing frameworks and tools that facilitate automated testing across different layers of application.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on SDET experience, with recent work building or testing agentic AI systems (single- or multi-agent) in production
• Experience in healthcare or life sciences — you understand what's at stake when a system fails in this domain
• A true tester's mindset: you seek out edge cases, adversarial inputs, and failure modes others overlook
• Proficiency across the full test pyramid — unit, integration, system, performance, and exploratory — plus familiarity with LLM-specific evaluation approaches

The Director of Engineering in Test leads the test engineering organization at Heartflow, overseeing the test strategy and execution required to ensure predictable, complete, high quality product releases at scale. Compensation

Rockbot takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location in the U.S. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

The base compensation band for this role is 190-220K, as well as equity, and benefits for all team members.
