Position Overview

As a Designer at Webstacks, you will collaborate with the Design, Engineering, Strategy, and Project Management teams on a diverse range of website projects with B2B tech clients ranging from newly-funded startups to international enterprises. From initial creative ideation through successful development of designs onto a website, you will work closely with our clients and internal teams to plan and execute the best websites for high-growth tech clients. You are naturally curious, asking questions when there are opportunities to make websites more impactful, and have a keen sense of visual aesthetic, working with a wide-range of different visual styles.

Details of the role

• Type of Work:  Full-Time
• Location: United States (Remote) - PST Working Hours
• Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000

High-Level Responsibilities

• Work directly with Webstacks’ clients on website redesigns; from visual concept ideation, to Design System and Page designs, all the way through a successful handoff with the Engineering team
• Collaborate with the Strategy and Project Management teams to ensure client insights and goals are reflected throughout every stage of the Design Process
• Utilize today’s best practices and advanced features in Figma to create robust and scalable Design Systems for all projects
• Communicate with clients on website design details, fulfillment timelines, and revisions throughout the Design Process
• Uphold high standards of quality, ensuring both creative and technical outputs meet or exceed client expectations and industry best practices.

The Day to Day

• Design robust, usable, and delightful web experiences that adhere to client’s design language and brand libraries, and address content-specific goals utilizing best practices in UI/UX design.
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external teams in Figma, Slack, and Jira to successfully deliver tasks in accordance with project timelines and requirements.
• Collaborate with Strategy and Engineering teams to implement designs for client website projects. This includes working on existing and upcoming projects, ensuring designs are integrated seamlessly into the client's website experience.
• Be a team-player, supporting other Design team members for coverage when needed.
• Communicate roadblocks effectively to the Head of Design and Project Managers, and navigate varying client requests throughout the design process.

Experience & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in creating web experiences, preferably for a wide range of clients in various industries.
• Expertise working with modern design tools such as Figma building out detailed Design Systems utilizing advanced features, and dynamic mockups using Prototyping.
• Strong understanding and application of design principles, methodologies, and best practices including typography, color theory, content layout for the best, and web design ideology.
• Experience designing websites ranging in size from single page architecture to enterprise-level architectures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of translating complex concepts into visual illustrations using modern collaboration tools such as Figma, Slack, and G-Suite applications.
• Self-motivated attitude with the a to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting to real-time changes in client project scopes.

The worst parts of this job

• Juggling multiple clients at once. As a Designer at Webstacks, you will be responsible for leading client redesign projects, which at times coincide with other client projects or initiatives. At times, you will be juggling multiple clients with different design systems and details, and need to stay flexible.
• Navigating new collaboration environments. Every client is different. From the communication style to the visual style, as a Designer you will need to be somewhat of a chameleon, adjusting to clients collaboration styles to ensure projects go smoothly.
• Rolling with the punches. At Webstacks, we build websites in a scalable way because your website is never done. This means that a lot of clients will have an iterative approach to their website projects to ensure that phases are launched in accordance with their goals. At times, this means adapting to changing project details and being responsive to on-the-fly pivots.

About the Role:

We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer to partner with Product, Engineering, Data (and Research) to shape strategy, align partner teams, and create a cohesive, high-trust retirement experience across the employer and employee journey. You’ll operate as the design lead for your projects—co-owning priorities, success metrics and driving alignment across Retirement and key partner teams (Payroll, Benefits, Support/Ops). Your scope will include:

• Improving both setup and account management to boost confidence, adoption, and retention to reduce contact rate and confusion.
• Creating a more connected journey between payroll and retirement by designing across the seams of product, operations, and support—where the hardest and most interesting problems live.
• Designing flexible, scalable patterns across Retirement, integrating seamlessly with adjacent payroll and benefits touchpoints. Apply discerning design judgment to determine when and how to effectively incorporate AI to enhance the experience.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

• Strategic Vision & Partnership: Partner with Product Management to define the customer problems to solve, the strategy to solve them, and the measurable outcomes that matter—across activation, engagement, and retention.
• Data and research informed iteration: Collaborate with Data and Research to understand funnel drop-offs, behavior over time, retention drivers as well as define success metrics and iterate based on what you learn.
• Design Leadership & Ownership: Drive the full design process for shipped experiences—scoping and sequencing work, prototyping, testing, and delivering MVP → iteration → longer-term improvements.
• Trust + compliance design: Translate regulatory/tax-driven requirements into clear flows, content, and UI patterns that build trust without overwhelming customers.
• Communication & Storytelling: Craft compelling product narratives that align cross-functional stakeholders around the problem, strategic options, and tradeoffs, clearly explaining the reasoning behind design decisions and outcomes.
• Elevating Craft & Mentorship: Provide thoughtful critique and mentorship to design peers; raise the quality bar across the organization. Be an innovation driver with using and designing for AI.
• System Advocacy & Evolution: Champion the design system and contribute patterns/components that improve cohesion and quality.
• AI-Accelerated Prototyping & Learning: Use AI to move quickly from concept to customer-tested artifact — building clickable, high-fidelity prototypes that generate real signal faster than traditional methods allow. Bring a clear point of view on where AI enhances the customer experience, not just your workflow, and help raise the team's fluency through your example.

Here’s what we're looking for:

We’ve found that a low ego, a growth mindset, and a bias for action go a long way here. 

• 8+ years in product design, with a portfolio showing end-to-end shipped work and the impact it drove
• High bar for craft across interaction design, information architecture, and visual design—especially for complex, form-heavy workflows
• Bonus: Experience in regulated/high-trust domains (fintech, taxes, insurance, healthcare, benefits/retirement)
• Demonstrable AI fluency in your design practice — not just familiarity with tools, but evidence of AI changing how you prototype, test, and ship. We'll ask you to show this, not just describe it.
• Comfort moving between design and code — whether that means shipping UI improvements directly, working closely in the codebase with engineers, or using AI-assisted tools to close the gap between prototype and production.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping messy inputs into clear goals, tradeoffs, and shipped outcomes
• Bonus: Comfortable tackling content design aspects (making complex concepts understandable)
• Building strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Data to prioritize, execute, and iterate
• Systems thinker who designs solutions that scale beyond one-off screens and hold up across a product ecosystem
• Bonus: Have contributed to growing a Design system with components or patterns
• Bring a clear point of view, engage in constructive feedback, and help teams align quickly by clarifying tradeoffs and driving decisions forward

Our cash compensation range for this role is $146,000/yr to $183,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $177,000/yr to $222,000/yr in San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Job Responsibilities

As a CAD/BIM Digital Designer, you will draft, convert, produce, and edit plans for drawings and other CAD/BIM generated products.

Digital Designer responsibilities:

• Draft/generate redlines for plans, diagrams, and schedule drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit from redlined drawings
• Provide design assistance and calculations to Designers and Engineers
• Produce drawings/projects consistent with instruction, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards
• Modify Architectural CAD/BIM files for use in MEP design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshooting)
• Review BIM models for coordination using Revit and Navisworks
• Support the BIM manager in setting up Revit templates, family creation, and staff support
• Prepare projects for client submissions
• Assist with the management of Revit files and projects

Job Requirements

This is a great opportunity for a CAD/BIM Digital Designer with experience working with AutoCAD and REVIT MEP. To succeed in this role, you will need effective organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workload and be a team player with strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

• Associate's degree or completion of trade school or equivalent formal training
• 7 to 10 years of working experience with an MEP firm in a CAD/BIM role
• Knowledge of drawings to understand red marks
• Able to read floor plans, sections, and elevations
• Possess basic drafting skills
• Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
• Available to work necessary hours in order to meet project deadlines
• Familiar with at least one: Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trades
• Experience with the MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Reader

• Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team
• Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
• Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
• Master drawing organization format and company standards
• Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
• Assists the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
• Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
• Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
• Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
• Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
• Minimum of 1.5+ to 6 years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
• Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
• Basic understanding of proper system selection
• Basic knowledge of applicable codes
• FE certification required
• Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.
