As the Executive Assistant to our CMO (Chief Medical Officer), and other senior leaders, you will support a clinical leadership team driving the development of innovative therapies to get better drugs to patients faster. You will partner closely with the CMO to enable them to operate at maximum effectiveness by managing priorities, streamlining operations, and anticipating needs across a fast-paced, science-driven environment. Your work will directly influence the CMO’s ability to focus on advancing our clinical pipeline, shaping development strategy, and delivering meaningful outcomes for patients.

You’ll play a critical role connecting internal teams, external partners, and clinical stakeholders; ensuring seamless execution across clinical, regulatory, and cross-functional initiatives in the U.S., UK, and Canada. This is a highly impactful position for an experienced professional who thrives on complexity, precision, and bringing structure to dynamic environments - someone who values both strategic alignment and the energy of working alongside a collaborative team. 

In this role you will:

• Manage all aspects of the CMO’s calendar, travel, and communications with discretion and foresight
• Anticipate scheduling conflicts, track key deliverables, and proactively adjust plans in alignment with clinical priorities and development milestones
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clinical, regulatory, and research partners, demonstrating sound judgment and professionalism at all times
• Plan and coordinate internal and external meetings, ensuring high-quality materials and seamless execution across clinical and cross-functional teams
• Arrange detailed domestic and international travel itineraries as needed 
• Partner with internal teams to support clinical leadership activities, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and key scientific engagements
• Maintain confidentiality while ensuring clear and timely information sharing between the CMO, leadership team, and external collaborators

The Team You’ll Join

You will be joining the executive support team at Recursion, working closely with the CMO and partnering with C-level executives across the company. You will collaborate with teams including Clinical Development, Regulatory, Research, People, Finance, Workplace Environment, and Communications.

The executive support team is responsible for enabling our senior leadership team to do their best work and stay focused on advancing Recursion’s mission. 

The Experience You’ll Need

• At least 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant supporting C-suite executives, ideally in a public biotech organization 
• Passion for science, innovation, and improving human health, with an appreciation for the clinical development process and the fast-moving world of biotechnology
• Ability to think ahead, anticipate needs, and propose thoughtful solutions - not just execute tasks
• Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a track record of managing competing priorities gracefully

Working Location & Compensation:

This is an office-based, hybrid position at our New York City, New York, office. Employees are expected to work in the office at least 50% of the time.

Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is $108,200 to $136,200 (USD). Recursion is leading an era of autonomous science – iterating across the discovery process, leveraging machine learning and agents built-for-purpose to uncover novel insights across biology and chemistry, fueling our clinical-stage pipeline. As the Senior Product Manager for Agentic Science, you will sit at the intersection of drug discovery and AI, serving as the critical translator between our scientific teams and the agentic systems they depend on. Your primary focus will be on outcomes: ensuring our agents impact Recursion’s pipeline through demonstrably accelerating discovery.

This role is not about maintaining a static roadmap; it is about navigating the frontier of a rapidly evolving field. You will partner closely with drug discovery scientists to understand their workflows, translate their needs into agent task definitions, and design and maintain the benchmarks that -ensure our agents are driving value. As the field evolves rapidly, you will help the team distinguish real scientific progress from superficially promising results.

In this role, you will:

• Champion Benchmarking for Agentic Science: Drive alignment across scientific and technical teams around evaluation frameworks that measure agent performance against scientifically meaningful outcomes, continuously refining them as the field evolves.
• Drive Outcome-Focused Product Development: Keep the team anchored to what matters: building agents that meaningfully advance drug discovery programs, not just executing tasks.
• Evangelize the "Human-in-the-loop" Evolution: Work with scientific stakeholders to define interfaces where humans review, validate, and shape agent reasoning, ensuring our scientists evolve from "operators" to "architects" of discovery.
• Monitor the Competitive Benchmark Landscape: Track how leading organizations across pharma AI, biotech, and foundation model research are measuring agentic performance. Ensure Recursion's evaluation frameworks stay calibrated against external standards, so our benchmarks reflect genuine scientific progress rather than internally optimized metrics.

The Team You’ll Join 

You will join a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, AI/ML scientists and drug discovery biologists and chemists who build the technical bedrock that enables autonomous science, including agent orchestration, guardrails, and the connectivity between our digital and physical assets. You will work closely with the Discovery teams (the users of these agents), the AI Research teams (who build cutting-edge models), and our automated biology and chemistry lab teams (who generate the data that feeds into the models).

The Experience You’ll Need

• Background in Drug Discovery or AI-driven Science: You have direct experience working in drug discovery, biotech, or AI-driven scientific research. Ideally, you will have worked hands-on with agentic systems (or agents) in a scientific context. You can credibly partner with PhD-level scientists and translate between scientific goals and technical systems without losing fidelity on either side.
• Fluency in Modern AI: You don't need to be an engineer, but you follow the AI landscape closely and understand how LLMs and agentic systems actually work in practice. Bonus points if you've benchmarked an agent(s) or worked hands-on with agentic tools, even outside a formal work context.
• Experimentation-First Mindset: You have a natural instinct for working through rapid prototyping cycles, whether in a product, research, or scientific context. You'd rather run a quick experiment than write a long spec.
• Systems Thinking: You can hold the big picture in mind while working in the details. You think naturally about how multiple agents interact, where they hand off to each other, and where humans need to be in the loop to catch errors, validate outputs, or make judgment calls that agents can't.

Communication & Influence: Strong written and oral skills to align diverse stakeholders (PhDs in Biology, ML and software engineers, AI Researchers) around a unified technical vision.

Working Location & Compensation:

This is an office-based, hybrid position at one of our offices in either Salt Lake City, Utah or New York City, New York. Employees are expected to work in the office at least 50% of the time.

The impact You'll Make

The Head of Early Discovery will lead strategic initiatives to accelerate drug discovery by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, data-driven decision-making, and innovative scientific approaches. This role is pivotal in shaping Recursion’s early discovery pipeline, identifying and validating novel targets, and translating programs into later stages of development. Support for partnership programs is also anticipated. The successful candidate will combine deep scientific expertise with visionary leadership collaborating across groups to drive impactful therapies for patients.

In this role, you will:

Lead strategically:

• Define and execute the early discovery strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Champion modern methodologies, including AI and computational approaches, to enhance decision-making and streamline workflows.
• Effective communication and clear decision making.
• Foster a culture of urgency and patient-centric innovation.
• Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary, international team of scientists and research associates.
• Manage cross-functional collaborations with internal teams and external partners, including academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies and key opinion leaders.

Drive scientific excellence:

• Oversee target identification, validation, and mechanism-of-action studies. A strong focus on oncology & immunology experience is required. Expertise in other disease areas is desirable.  
• Working with the Head of Translational Strategy, support translation of early stage programs into the broader portfolio including preclinical and early clinical development stages.
• Implement high-quality, efficient, data-driven decision-making processes to prioritize assets and allocate resources effectively.

Innovate:

• Spearhead initiatives to integrate advanced cellular and biochemical technologies, functional genomics platforms and fit-for-purpose screening systems.
• Embrace novel approaches to accelerate discovery, validate targets effectively, and ensure programs are data driven.  

The Experience You'll Need:

• PhD in Biology or related discipline.
• 10+ years of postdoctoral experience in oncology & immunology. Additional disease area experience is a plus.
• Proven track record in target identification, validation, and translation into later stages of drug discovery. Experience advancing programs from early discovery through IND enabling studies.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and implement modern technologies (e.g., AI) in drug discovery.
• Strong strategic thinking and commitment to scientific rigor.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Additional Desirable Experience:

• Early-stage clinical program involvement for a holistic view of drug development.
• Expertise in contemporary small molecule discovery; experience with other modalities is a bonus.
• Familiarity with immunology / immuno-oncology and/or other disease areas.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a computational biology specialist on our Target ID team, you will be at the forefront of transitioning Recursion to its next era of drug discovery. You will serve as a critical biological anchor for a highly technical data science team building the next generation of our target discovery pipelines.

The team’s mission is to identify novel therapeutic targets at scale across the genome for hundreds of indications. You will have access to all of Recursion's data layers—including massive internal maps, functional genomics, and rich patient data (transcriptomics, genetics, and Real-World Data/EHR)—and will be tasked with proposing, piloting, and deploying new methods to integrate these datasets.

Crucially, you will leverage your biological subject matter expertise to orient and focus your data scientist and software engineer peers towards reliable and correct usage of biological data and feasible candidate programs. As we build out semi-automated and agentic tools (e.g., multi-agent LLM systems for portfolio oversight and target assessment), your deep real-world biology experience will guide the development of these tools, ensuring they are grounded in biological reality and translate to meaningful portfolio and patient impact.

The ideal candidate is a computational biology specialist with high fluency in data science tech stacks. You know how to build and evaluate predictive models and build agentic pipelines, and your differentiator is your deep understanding of patient-relevant datasets, disease biology, and target discovery.

In this role, you will:

• Discover & Evaluate: Propose and validate novel targets using deep integration of patient data (transcriptomics, population genetics, EHR, etc) and Recursion's internal multi-omic data layers.
• Guide & Automate: Collaborate closely with data scientists to build, refine, and guide semi-automated and agentic target discovery tools. You will ensure these tools are biologically sound and can scale to evaluate hypotheses across many indications spanning a wide range of therapeutic areas.
• Triangulate: Use advanced statistical methods (e.g., causal inference, survival modeling) to establish confident target-to-patient connections and define specific addressable patient populations for early pipeline programs.
• Bridge the Gap: Translate complex platform findings into disease-relevant applications, bridging the gap between high-dimensional data science output and actionable drug discovery insights.
• Present & Influence: Communicate complex biological rationale and data analyses to decision-makers and cross-functional stakeholders, driving data-backed "go/no-go" decisions in a two-stage target approval process.

The Team You’ll Join

Our group is a bold, agile, diverse collective of data scientists and computational biologists driving Recursion’s early portfolio strategy. We are focused on aggressively expanding our early-stage pipeline with highly validated, novel therapeutic targets. To achieve this, we prioritize defining specific patient populations and establishing clear, data-backed translational paths from day one of every new program.

Because this team is dominated by experts in traditional data science, AI/ML, and software engineering, your role is absolutely critical. You will provide the essential biological experience and subject matter expertise to improve and accelerate the work of your peers. Essential attributes for this role include a bold, execution-first attitude, high technical fluency to collaborate seamlessly on data-science-heavy codebases, and a passion for deploying rigorous science to develop life-changing medicines.

The Experience You’ll Need

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Human Genetics, Systems Biology, or a closely related field with 3+ years of experience in the biotech or pharma industry OR MS in a relevant field and 5+ years of industry experience focusing on target ID or early drug discovery.
• Biological SME: Deep, real-world experience in target discovery, functional genomics, and understanding the druggability of disease-relevant pathways.
• Data Science Fluency: Highly proficient in Python and/or R, with a strong ability to seamlessly integrate into a data-science-heavy tech stack. Comfortable with modern software engineering practices, cloud computing, and machine learning concepts.
• Patient Data Expertise: Extensive experience working with "discovery-related" human data, particularly transcriptomics (bulk/single-cell), patient genetics/GWAS, and clinical/real-world data (e.g., EHR).
• Analytical Rigor: Experience applying advanced computational and statistical methods to establish biological causality (e.g., survival analysis, causal inference modeling).
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with a proven track record of upskilling peers in biological concepts and guiding technical teams toward translatable biological outcomes.

Nice To Have:

• Experience working with, prompting, or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agentic workflows into scientific research.
• Familiarity with building or utilizing Knowledge Graphs for target identification.
