About the Role
As a Staff IT Engineer - Service Management, you will own and evolve Nubank’s IT Service Management (ITSM) practice end to end. You’ll design and implement processes, tools, and governance that keep our internal services reliable, auditable, and efficient, enabling engineering teams to focus on high-impact work while maintaining strong operational controls in a regulated environment.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Continuing to build and own Nubank's ITSM practice, defining and implementing core ITIL v4 processes: incident, problem, change, service request, and knowledge management.
- Establishing a service catalog with clearly defined SLAs and OLAs aligned with internal stakeholder expectations.
- Owning the end-to-end ITSM toolchain (Jira Service Management or equivalent): configuration, workflow design, form logic, SLA rules, and integrations with adjacent systems.
- Identifying and closing automation gaps — routing, escalation, notifications, and reporting — partnering with engineering teams to reduce manual toil across operations.
- Defining and tracking operational KPIs (MTTR, SLA compliance, first-contact resolution, change success rate) and building regular reporting cadences for leadership and stakeholders.
- Establishing a Change Advisory Board (CAB) with structured documentation and approval workflows.
- Supporting audit and compliance requirements with structured evidence of IT operational controls, essential in a regulated financial environment.
- Driving ITSM adoption across the organization, creating runbooks, training materials, and documentation that embed service management culture at scale.
We Are Looking For a Person Who Has
Mandatory qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in IT service management, IT operations, or a related discipline.
- Deep ITIL v4 expertise; ITIL 4 Foundation or Managing Professional certification strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of building ITSM practices from scratch or significantly transforming an existing function.
- Hands-on experience owning and configuring ITSM tooling end-to-end (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or equivalent) — not just using it, but designing it.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, engineering-led environment, with strong influence-without-authority skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience in fintech, high-growth tech, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with adjacent frameworks: COBIT, ISO 20000, or SRE principles.
- Experience partnering with Security and/or Platform Engineering teams.
- Fluent English.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving "meta-problems"—fixing the tools and processes that other teams rely on. - Enterprise Automation & Platform Engineering:
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of automation platforms (e.g., n8n) to orchestrate workflows across business units.
- Design and optimize critical communication infrastructure (e.g., AWS SES, email delivery resilience) to ensure high availability for internal and transactional messaging.
- AI & "Vibe Coding" Governance:

The Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team enables Nubank to remain compliant with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, while continuously identifying, classifying, and monitoring risks and providing strategic insights and performance evaluation to leadership.
The GRC squad collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to align our technology security strategy with Nubank’s overall business objectives, ensuring that identified risks are mitigated and that risk-based decision-making is enabled within and beyond the IT & Security Business Unit.
About the role
You will be responsible for acting as a technical reference in security, certifications, and internal controls, serving as a bridge between engineering, risk, audit, and business stakeholders.
You will define strategies, support risk-based decision-making, and ensure that security and compliance requirements are effectively embedded into processes, systems, and products.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a senior technical and governance reference across security, certifications, risk, and internal controls, influencing strategy.
- Identify control gaps and improvement opportunities in technical procedures required for certification and recertification processes (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with business and technical leaders to orchestrate audits, assessments, and remediation plans in a risk-based and scalable way.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define action plans that ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

- Familiarity with using AI and automation (e.g., machine learning, generative AI, or LLM-based tooling) to enhance security compliance use cases.
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape relevant to financial services, such as SOx, BACEN, CVM, CNBV, ANBIMA, SEC, and related regulations.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP) and implementing security controls in these contexts.

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to design, implement, and operate our global office and data center network. In this role, you will own the connectivity and performance of Nu’s physical locations, ensuring that our offices and data centers are reliable, secure, and ready to support our next waves of growth.
You will work on routing, switching, wireless, security, and observability across our global stack, leading key initiatives such as new office rollouts, critical connectivity improvements, and the evolution towards Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will be part of the Global Offices Network team, working closely with peers in Connectivity, Security, and Workplace to provide a seamless experience for Nubankers worldwide.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Network & Connectivity
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure for offices and data centers, including routing, switching, and wireless.
- Maintain and evolve high‑availability data center fabrics (e.g., spine‑and‑leaf topologies with Juniper/Cisco hardware).
- Ensure robust connectivity between offices and data centers, including WAN and SD‑WAN solutions, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
Wireless, Load Balancing & Security
- Configure and support wireless networks (controllers and access points), with strong experience in vendors such as Aruba and Cisco.
- Operate and tune load balancers (e.g., F5, including DNS/ZoneRunner concepts) to guarantee optimal application delivery and resilience.
- Collaborate with security teams on Next‑Generation Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) and cloud security brokers (e.g., Zscaler) in a “security‑first” network design.
Automation, IaC & Observability
- Drive the transition away from manual configuration towards Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as GitHub, Terraform, and/or Ansible.
- Implement and maintain network performance monitoring and observability using tools like PRTG, Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds or similar, ensuring proactive detection and resolution of incidents.
- Manage PKI-related activities, including SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle and ensuring secure encrypted communications across services and endpoints.
Delivery & Collaboration
- Lead or co‑lead new office implementations and major network changes, coordinating with Workplace, Connectivity, and other partner teams.
- Act as a technical reference for incident response and problem management in critical networking issues, helping restore services quickly and preventing recurrences.
- Document architectures, runbooks, and standards, helping scale knowledge across the team.
- Mentor more junior engineers and collaborate in a multi‑level team (IC6, IC5, IC3, IC4) to continuously improve how we operate our global infrastructure.
We Are Looking for a Person Who Has
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking or infrastructure engineering, working with critical environments (e.g., large offices, data centers, or mission‑critical operations).
- Strong hands‑on experience with routing and switching, ideally using vendors such as Cisco and/or Juniper.
- Experience implementing and supporting wireless networks, especially with Aruba and/or Cisco wireless solutions.
- Solid experience operating network monitoring and performance tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana or similar) in production environments.
- Experience with load balancers (e.g., F5) and DNS‑related components (e.g., ZoneRunner or equivalent).
- Exposure to network security components, such as enterprise firewalls and/or security brokers, and comfort collaborating with security teams in a “security‑first” posture.
- Experience with or strong interest in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation for network configuration and lifecycle management (e.g., GitHub, Terraform, Ansible).
- Ability to lead initiatives and coordinate teams during new office rollouts, complex changes, and incident response.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
- Intermediate English (spoken and written), with the ability to participate in meetings and collaborate with global teams.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Zero Trust network concepts and security‑driven networking.
