The Developer Productivity team supports the software development ecosystem used by thousands of engineers to develop and maintain MongoDB Server and developer tools in a complex matrix of multi-platform self-hosted products and multi-cloud hosted environments. Our tools and services, as well as our domain expertise, ensure that MongoDB developers can ship high quality products quickly, confidently, and securely. 

As a senior staff engineer you’ll be responsible for helping shape the future of our developer ecosystem and ensure we take advantage of the rapidly-evolving engineering landscape. You will partner with engineering leadership across the company to identify system-wide opportunities to accelerate developer velocity and efficiency, enhancing smart data collection and integrating analytics assistants that produce actionable insights every step of the way.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the developer productivity domain in large engineering environments, including building, and operationalizing complex, reliable systems
• Strong experience supporting one or more of C++, Java, Go, Python, Rust, Node, Typescript
• Strong understanding of DevOps culture and tooling
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, common deployment models and infrastructure, and various techniques used to safely roll changes into production environments
• Hands-on experience implementing metrics and observability tools and best practices, as well as data processing pipeline technologies such as Iceberg, Trino, Kafka
• Proven track record of driving technical execution and vision for organizations with 50+ team members
• Skilled in advocating for and representing the needs of a 1000+ customer base to internal platform teams

Responsibilities

• Drive strong operational excellence standards for internal software development tools and services, helping define golden paths that optimize the efficiency and velocity of our engineering organization
• Design software development systems to ensure best practices and champion industry standards
• Advise Engineering partners on technical implications of systems design with regards to complexity, testability, and maintainability
• Lead development and project management of some of the largest projects within MongoDB to improve developer productivity and software quality, particularly around data-driven insights and optimizations
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to the Developer Productivity organization, promoting best practices and fostering team growth

Bonus points if the candidate has experience with:

• Strong systems fundamentals, including testing and monitoring multi-threaded systems
• Performance profiling of complex systems
• Leveraging best of breed AI tools & technologies in the developer productivity domain along with the necessary telemetry and analytics to measure effectiveness in a rapidly changing environment
• Experience supporting the development of database internals or core components for data processing systems

Success Measures

• In the first month, you will have understood the high level architecture of at least one of the systems within the MongoDB developer ecosystem and fixed a few bugs
• In three months, you will have a broad understanding of the overall developer ecosystem and be taking on code review responsibilities
• In six months, you will have taken on code and design review responsibilities for key systems within the software development ecosystem
• In twelve months, you will be leading the development of MongoDB’s next generation developer ecosystem, helping to mentor engineers on the team, and using your experience to drive the long-term DevProd-wide technical roadmap

RÔLE ET RESPONSABILITÉS :  

• Concevoir, développer et optimiser des services Backend en Python, principalement pour automatiser et moderniser les processus de prévision financière ;
• Contribuer à l’évolution d’architectures distribuées et de pipelines de données utilisant DataIQ, Databricks et Snowflake ;
• Participer à l’automatisation des traitements mensuels et hebdomadaires à l’aide de Python et SQL, qui constituera la majeure partie du travail ;
• Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes d’ingénierie, de données et d’infrastructure afin d’assurer une intégration fluide des solutions ;
• Analyser les besoins techniques, proposer des solutions robustes et prendre part aux décisions architecturales ;
• Participer aux revues de conception et contribuer à l’amélioration continue du code, des processus et des outils (tests automatisés, CI/CD, monitoring) ;
• Assurer la performance, la fiabilité et la sécurité des applications dans un contexte hautement réglementé et multi‑équipes ;
• Interagir avec des systèmes existants tels que Teradata et diverses plateformes héritées, tout en orientant les livrables vers Snowflake.

QUALIFICATIONS ET EXPÉRIENCE :  

• Baccalauréat en informatique, génie logiciel ou domaine connexe ;
• Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en développement Python dans des environnements complexes ;
• Expérience dans le secteur bancaire ou au sein de grandes institutions financières (requis) ;
• Connaissance approfondie des technologies de données : SQL, bases NoSQL (ex. MongoDB) ;
• Maîtrise des environnements Linux et des pratiques DevOps (Git, CI/CD, conteneurisation) ;
• Familiarité avec DataIQ, Databricks et snowflake ;

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of data engineering and a proven track record of leading data projects in a fast-paced environment. 

• Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow and Pyspark.

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of industry experience in data engineering with a strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and big data technologies.
  • Extensive experience with cloud services such as Azure Data Factory and AWS Glue.
  • Demonstrated experience with Databricks and Snowflake.

What You'll Own

Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS - infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform, ensuring all environments are version-controlled and reproducible.
• Architect multi-region and disaster recovery strategies that meet healthcare uptime requirements.

Site Reliability Engineering

Think of it as healthcare for technology. As a production support analyst with mthree, you’ll be on a shared mission to look after the technical systems and processes other teams rely on.

What you’ll learn at the mthree Academy:

• How to discuss production support activity at a high level including ITIL (information technology infrastructure library), monitoring, DevOps, SRE (site reliability engineering), and disaster recovery.
• How to discuss common financial topics, including financial markets, equity trading, derivatives, currency, treasury, regulation, and risk.
• How to write a basic computer program in Python, including user input, common data structures, and flow of control.
• How to use MySQL to perform CRUD (create, read, update and delete) operations on a relational database stored in a MySQL Server.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, math).
• A GPA of 2.75 or higher. We look for potential, not prestige, but it’s important that you enjoy pushing yourself to pick up new ideas.
• Ability to troubleshoot, taking an analytical approach to solve problems.
• The right to work in Canada without needing visa sponsorship.

Responsabilités

• Concevoir et maintenir des applications web réactives, compatibles multi-navigateurs et hautes performances en utilisant Angular/React, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, TypeScript et JavaScript.
• Créer des composants modulaires et réutilisables avec Angular CLI en suivant les meilleures pratiques pour assurer la maintenabilité.
