The Payroll Specialist Lead - Pakistan is a critical role within Remote’s dynamic global payroll organization. Nestled within our EOR and Payroll Operations Team, this role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll operations within assigned countries while also contributing to the improvement and scalability of our global payroll processes.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Payroll Operations, Tax, Finance, Product and Customer Success, while coordinating with diverse payroll partners where applicable.
This role is well suited for a mid-to-senior career payroll ops professional who has deep hands-on experience running payroll in complex environments and is comfortable operating in globally distributed teams.

About the Role:
The role of an Associate Manager is to ensure the well-being and development of all employees to support the organization's goals. As a core leader, you will be responsible for motivating, encouraging, and supporting line management (pod leadership) in every aspect to enable the team to succeed. The primary duty will be to lead all the efforts driving the team of 100+ employees and strategically enable their performance by running multiple programs simultaneously.
Additionally, you will be managing the performance, growth, and efficiency of the line managers and facilitating them to unlock the team's potential. Building strategies around performance management such as building the KPIs (key performance indicators) for all roles, identifying both low and high performers, and recognizing top performers while building a Performance Improvement Plan for low performers to help them achieve the minimum bar we set through KPIs will also be a crucial responsibility.
Apart from these, you will be working with multiple department directors, internal managers, and other stakeholders, including HR, Benefits, Product, Compliance, Safety, and all the engineering teams to ensure effective communication and alignment with the company's goals and values. You will also identify and implement best practices to improve employee engagement, productivity, and overall team performance.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and legal requirements will be another responsibility. Finally, you will conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to all team members to improve their skills and competencies.
