How it works:

• We have several open projects where we are looking for talented writers to help train generative artificial intelligence models to become better writers.
• You can work on all of our projects remotely. Hours are flexible, so you can work whenever is best for you.
• Your earnings from ongoing projects are sent out weekly.

You Will: 

• Work on various writing in Igbo projects to train generative AI models.
• Some examples of projects you might work on: 
• Rank a series of responses that were produced by an AI model.
• Based on a given topic, write a short story about that topic.
• Assess whether a piece of text produced by an AI model is factually accurate or not.

Preferred Qualifications: 

These are not must-have qualifications! You should apply if you meet any of these (or anything similar you think makes you a good fit).

• Professional Translator
• Enrollment or completion of an undergraduate program in a humanities field or field related to writing
• Enrollment or completion in a graduate program related to creative writing
• Experience writing professionally (copywriter, journalist, technical writer, editor, etc.)

What You’ll Do

• Lead high-impact projects: Design and deliver end-to-end data science solutions that support product innovation and business strategy.
• Uncover insights: Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, surface opportunities, and influence key decisions.
• Build models: Develop and deploy predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.

• Promote data fluency: Build dashboards, tools, and frameworks to enable self-service analytics and scale your impact across teams.

To succeed in this role, you should have

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale data systems (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Strong analytical and statistical skills; fluency in Python or R.
• Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Plotly).
• Solid understanding of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
• Ability to distill complex data problems into clear, actionable insights.
• BSc/MSc/PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or similar.

Experience with the following would be a plus

• Experience with deep learning, NLP, or time-series forecasting.
• Knowledge of tools for building production data pipelines (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
• Familiarity with business domains like fintech, e-commerce, healthcare, etc.

Seeking a skilled Data Analyst with 3+ years’ experience to lead analytics projects, build dashboards, and turn complex datasets into insights that drive One Acre Fund Nigeria’s growth and impact for smallholder farmers.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead medium- and high-complexity data projects.
• Plan and execute data projects aimed at answering big questions and solving difficult problems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, division of responsibility, and definition of success.
• Build and maintain medium- and high-complexity reports and dashboards

About the Role

Seeking an exceptional Agronomy researcher with 3-5+ years of experience creating impactful solutions to join our team to increase our impact per farmer by recommending products that can improve resilience and livelihood of farming households.

Responsibilities

Research

• Literature reviews, rapid evidence assessments, expert consultation etc. to identify impactful agricultural innovations

Trial Design and Management

• Design efficient on-station (Phase 1) and on-farm (Phase 2) trials with global team members to generate rigorous data and insights needed to inform program decision making.
• Lead all required operational steps for successful trial planning and execution, including site selection, input calculation, ordering and distribution.
• Develop trial activity and data collection protocols to guide and ensure high standards of trial execution and data collection (this may include the development of mobile data collection surveys).
• Prepare and manage a trial pipeline according to available trial capacities.
• Ensure the trial team (i.e. officers, managers and coordinators) is efficiently and continuously  trained to ensure high quality trial execution.
• Ensure high quality data collection and trouble-shoot trial execution when needed.
• Conduct regular field visits.
• Implement continual improvements in trial management and coordination based on lessons-learned.

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Use statistical softwares like STATA or R to analyze trial data with moderate support of department leadership.
• Use trial data to prepare impact models and provide actionable recommendations for program decision-makers.

Team Management and Capacity Building

• Lead weekly check-ins for field staff to discuss challenges, support task prioritization and monitor their key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Draft professional development plans and facilitate bi-annual performance reviews.
• Conduct unbiased hiring and management of team.
• Liaise independently  with external departments within One Acre Fund on efficient trial planning and execution.

Seeking an innovative professional with 3+ years of experience designing and scaling agricultural projects to help us answer one critical question: How do we serve farmers better with Trees?

Responsibilities

Trial Design

• Lead the design and planning of operational trials to answer program-level questions on seedling production, planting techniques, and seedling survival rates. 
• Lead site-specific species matching exercises to ensure the right species are raised and planted in the right locations.
• Define trial objectives, protocols, and data collection plans in collaboration with Impact Innovations.
• Build trial project plans, timelines, budgets, and KPI trackers to ensure effective execution.
• Analyze trial results and generate actionable insights to inform program strategy, species portfolio selection, and long-term program design.
• Own and maintain the Trees Product Portfolio Strategy, by implementing robust validation and oversight processes prior to introducing new species to ensure ecological suitability, operational feasibility, and program impact.

Field Execution

• Oversee program rollout across regions, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Support delivery of OAF business goals at state level, liaising with other departments within the programs division to understand pain points and provide support.
• Go to Gemba regularly to meet with farmers and field teams in order to build fluency on field level operations and farmer insights, resolve challenges and improve program delivery.
• Lead seeds aggregation trials and other scale initiatives to derisk operations and ensure timely availability of input materials.
• Own and maintain the Trees risk map, rolling out frequent engagements with field team and Trees leadership to gather emerging risk concerns and design mitigation pathways.

 Farmer Experience

• Lead SBCC (Social and Behavior Change Communication) initiatives to improve farmer planting practices and adoption.
• Conduct field assessments to evaluate farmer experience and outcomes.
• Identify and implement operational improvements that enhance farmer adoption,  tree planting, survival, and farmer satisfaction.

About the Role

This role oversees product and service trials that enhance farmer livelihoods and program income. The core of the job is product innovation and trial management, supported by strong human-centred design skills that can be applied where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Trial Design & Strategy: Independently design and plan high-rigour agronomic and adoption trials, integrating farmer-centred insights, detailed protocols, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Field Execution & Research: Lead market research and Social & Behaviour Change (SBC) campaigns, overseeing qualitative methods (FGDs, interviews) and prototype testing to validate farmer needs.
• Team Supervision: Manage and develop a team of field officers and managers, providing technical training in HCD and ensuring high-fidelity execution of trial protocols.
• Data Analysis & Synthesis: Conduct quantitative analysis using STATA or R, triangulating numerical data with qualitative behavioural insights to refine impact models.
• Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Translate complex findings into actionable reports and decision memos, liaising independently with global teams and external departments.
• Performance Management: Oversee staff KPIs, professional development plans, and unbiased hiring to ensure continuous improvement in trial efficiency and team capability.
