Position Summary:
The Vice President AI Model Validation with extensive big-bank experience, strong technical expertise, and proven capabilities in model risk management, risk reporting, and large-scale data management, will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Bank’s Model Risk Management framework in compliance with regulatory guidance (e.g., SR 11-7). This individual will be well-versed in regulatory requirements, model governance frameworks, and secure data practices, enabling a more resilient, compliant, and value-added risk management function. The VP AI Model Validation will oversee the governance, validation, monitoring, and reporting of models used across the Bank—including BSA/AML, Credit, CECL, ALM, Capital planning, Stress testing, liquidity, and other decision-support models.
The ideal candidate will combine strong quantitative skills with practical banking experience, expertise in data quality and visualization, and the ability to clearly communicate technical model risk findings to senior management, regulators, and business stakeholders. The knowledge and ability to conduct thorough model validations and reviews is a critical responsibility for this position.

Strong Python programming skills and a working knowledge of shell scripting and Linux command line is desirable. Background in models and databases used in power system analyses, and business experience in electric power systems or wholesale electric markets are desired; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The NYISO’s Operations department invites applications for a full-time Planning Engineer to join the Demand Forecasting and Analysis team.
The NYISO Demand Forecasting and Analysis team is responsible for predictive modeling and data analytics that span both short-term (from 5-minutes up to one week ahead) and long-term (10 years or more) time horizons, and gives substantial consideration to regional trends in energy efficiency, energy storage, distributed solar photovoltaics, and electrification of the heating and transportation sectors.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and maintain analytical and statistical models of residential, commercial, and industrial end-use data in order to produce long term energy and demand forecasts These end-uses include HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), lighting, refrigeration, industrial motor end uses, solar photovoltaics, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems. These models are used for quantifying and forecasting the volume and peak demand of end user consumption (load) across the New York Control Area (NYCA). This position will assist in the monitoring of activities in energy efficiency, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and public policy programs and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to update and enhance forecasting and analysis methods as a subject-matter expert. This position will also assist in the preparation of the annual Load and Capacity Data Report (“Gold Book”) and supporting forecasts and analyses.

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state.
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The Spark Rotational Program Participant in the Research Engineering group within the Market Structures department is expected to contribute as an Associate Market Solutions Engineer.
The NYISO’s Spark Rotational Program is a two-year, early-career development program designed to grow the next generation of power system and technology professionals through meaningful work, structured learning, and cross-functional exposure. The Spark Rotational Program Participant will be expected to develop and demonstrate technical expertise and strong leadership skills throughout their two year rotational program.
Participants are hired directly into a home department where they build strong technical and professional foundations while contributing to projects that support the reliability of New York’s power grid. Participants will also expand their organizational perspective through learning experiences, job shadowing, and partial rotations across multiple departments.
This individual will support the electric power system model used by the scheduling and dispatch software. Develop and apply a working knowledge of the New York State high voltage transmission system and the network model database software to support the NYISO market and security functions. The Associate Engineer will support the real-time power system analysis, primarily the EMS software applications and BMS software application, as well as the development and evolution of the Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Energy Market Systems (BMS) and the development and evolution of the Smart-Grid application software. Strong Power Systems or Electrical Engineering with power system software and/or mathematical optimization knowledge is desired for this position.
