You'll be joining a team of engineers across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into cross-functional development teams assigned to specific verticals.
This role is open for several teams, and we will define the exact team that you will be joining during the interview process based on the business needs and your preferences.

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer whose heart is in the backend — someone excited to architect and own the systems that power our AI-native platform, built on Elixir/Phoenix. You’ll join small, autonomous project teams (2–3 people) that take full ownership of a feature from scoping and prototyping through to rollout and user feedback, with the depth to contribute across the stack and the instinct to lead from the backend. You should be located in the UK, Ireland, or the Netherlands. You are free to choose working hours that suit you best, as long as there is an overlap with your team for most of the day.
Our stack primarily consists of Elixir + PostgreSQL on the backend and Phoenix on the frontend (with some pockets of React). We monitor performance using Sentry, and our platform is hosted on AWS, running on Docker containers defined in Terraform. Our platform is AI-native, and we make extensive use of LLMs in our application. Our code lives on GitHub — in fact, GitHub, Slack and Linear is where most of the collaboration happens. We practice using Loom to demo our work.

As a Senior Engineer, you will have a direct impact on the development of core geospatial products and internal data-processing and annotation tools at Overstory.
Your breadth of skills will allow you to set a technical vision for the development of the web applications, ETL pipelines, and backend services owned by these teams.

As a Staff Engineer, you will work across multiple teams to evolve a suite of web and internal tools that enable utility companies to more effectively manage risks associated with climate change and wildfires.
We are seeking improvement in the following areas:
At Overstory, our Staff Engineers are hands-on technical leaders whose influence extends beyond their team either through leading cross team initiatives, making technology choices for critical aspects of our technology platform or solving for critical technical challenges within teams enabling our business to achieve our rapid scaling plans (growing 3x YoY).

Your Core Responsibilities
IMC uses a wide variety of technologies. Python is widely used across our tech stack, notably to make it more accessible to our traders, researchers and analysts. As a Python Software Engineer at IMC Amsterdam, you will take part in the development of high-performance trading systems, analytical tools, signals generation, backtesting frameworks, trade management UIs or regulatory surveillance & risk monitoring. What will you do as a Full Stack Software Engineer?
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will ensure that our software services and applications on our cloud platforms (primarily AWS) are maintained and built. This involves working on both the front-end (React/TypeScript) and the back-end (Python), ensuring our systems are reliable, scalable, and maintainable. In close collaboration with data scientists, product owners, and other engineers, you will build and deploy various solutions, ensuring they are production ready. The development process is supported by our in-house development libraries and a streamlined CI/CD pipeline. A core part of your responsibility will be to translate complex business questions into concrete technical solutions to develop and maintain innovative products.
