We are hiring a Staff Solutions Architect (Remote, based in Germany) to own and grow the DACH territory (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This role partners closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to help prospective and existing customers design, validate, and scale mission-critical systems on Temporal. You will work directly with engineering leaders and senior developers at high-growth and enterprise customers across DACH, helping them understand when and how to use Temporal, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring successful adoption across their organizations.
Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with scoping and sizing opportunities and offering guidance on technical fit and challenges across the DACH region
Lead customer discovery to understand architecture, constraints, and success criteria, and map those to Temporal-based solutions
Design end-to-end reference architectures that demonstrate how Temporal fits into existing services, data stores, and infrastructure
Build and deliver high-impact demos and technical narratives that clearly show how Temporal solves real customer pain
Run deep technical workshops, whiteboard sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements with engineering and architecture teams
Provide hands-on guidance on best practices for workflow and activity design, testing strategies, and operationalization of Temporal in production
Identify and mitigate technical risks in customer projects, escalating and collaborating with Product and Engineering as needed
Capture and communicate customer feedback and feature requests into Product, influencing roadmap and prioritization
Contribute to reusable assets for the field, including reference architectures, example workflows, solution playbooks, and enablement content
Represent Temporal in customer meetings, executive briefings, and at community events or conferences across the DACH market
Significant experience (typically several years) in customer-facing, technical pre-sales or post-sales roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Field Engineer, or equivalent
Strong background in designing and operating distributed systems or cloud-native applications, with a deep understanding of reliability, scalability, and failure modes
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome-focused narratives for both technical and business audiences
Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, Ruby, or PHP
Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and common infrastructure components including networking, messaging, observability, and CI/CD
Proven track record partnering with sales teams on strategic accounts, including working through technical evaluations, proof-of-concept stages, and production rollouts
Experience working with or advising large customers in DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), with comfort navigating complex stakeholder environments
Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust with senior engineers and technical leaders
Prior experience working with Temporal or similar workflow/orchestration, event-driven, or durable execution systems
Experience in a high-growth, developer-focused infrastructure or platform company
German language skills are highly preferred, along with strong English communication in both written and spoken form
Familiarity with common patterns such as event sourcing, CQRS, microservices, and data-intensive or low-latency systems
Experience speaking at meetups, conferences, or producing technical content such as blogs, videos, or sample code for developer audiences
The estimated pay range for this role is €165,000 – €185,000 OTE (on-target earnings), depending on experience and location within Germany.
This is a base salary and variable role with a 70/30 split
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal’s equity plan
