Senior DevOps Engineer
About this role
The DevOps Engineer will work within the Platform Engineering team and help provide the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that supports Karbon’s engineering teams. This role focuses on improving deployment workflows, platform reliability, and operational visibility across our cloud platform.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions and Jenkins to enable reliable production releases
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and automated provisioning using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation.
- Supporting configuration management using Chef
- Supporting containerised workloads using Docker and Azure Container Apps
- Building and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and observability systems using Datadog and OpenTelemetry
- Monitoring the security, performance, and availability of infrastructure and applications
- Investigating and resolving infrastructure and platform-related issues
- Working with engineering teams to deploy infrastructure changes safely and efficiently
- Contributing to disaster recovery, environment management, and operational resilience
- Assisting with cloud cost optimisation
- Delivering operational support for the platform as part of a team on-call roster rotation
- Working closely with Engineering and Product teams to implement DevOps solutions and improve developer workflows
About You
Candidates with the following characteristics and experience are encouraged to apply:
- 5+ years of experience working in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Experience supporting Azure cloud environments
- Good understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure fundamentals (Linux, Windows, DNS, TCP/IP, networking)
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with Docker containerisation and cloud-native application deployments
- Experience using configuration management tools such as Chef
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability using tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry

The opportunity with us as the Support Consultant
Woolpert’s Digital Delivery Team is looking for a Support Consultant! You may choose to be based in our Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide office for this hybrid role.
Reporting to the Project & Support Manager, the role gives you the opportunity work with customers to resolve technical support cases raised through our geospatial help desk.
As a Support Consultant at Woolpert, you will:
- Be a trusted point of contact for our customers, resolve first and second level software support requests with confidence and care.
- Manage customer phone calls and e-mails through our Helpdesk system and liaising with internal staff to triage and resolve technical support issues.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues across our geospatial platforms, including VertiGIS Geocortex and Esri ArcGIS.
- Providing regular reporting on support KPIs.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in IT, computer science, software engineering or geomatics.
- Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft‑based environments, including Windows OS, Active Directory, and common desktop or server applications.
- A solid understanding of core networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, and basic diagnostics.
- Experience identifying and diagnosing issues in web‑based applications, including understanding how HTTP/HTTPS requests, responses, and authentication flows work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
The team does consider the below desirable experience, so do let us know if you have any of the following!
- Exposure to reading or writing code in any language, with an understanding of logic, variables, and error handling.

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a Senior AWS GovCloud Engineer who will be responsible for designing, delivering, and managing AWS GovCloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS type solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of configuring AWS GovCloud services and common enterprise software technologies in accordance with FedRAMP, NIST, and other security requirements guides. The candidate will be responsible for interfacing directly with customers, liaising with product vendors, and leading junior engineers in the DevSecOps process. The candidate will be expected to perform both independently and as a team member in “open engineering” tasks that require full R&D for greenfield solutions. This position will be a hybrid remote position with onsite/travel requirements near Melbourne, FL. This position is also open to candidates who reside in proximity to our Herndon, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Tampa, FL, San Antonio, TX, or Ogden, UT offices with quarterly business travel expectations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Architecting and engineering full spectrum solutions in hardened operating environments at the application, OS, and cloud service levels.
- Interfacing with customers to translate business requirements into production solutions.
- Performing legacy workload discoveries and leading cloud migration and modernization efforts.
- Documenting and codifying solution deliveries within a DevSecOps cycle.
- Performing holistic financial analysis of cloud-based workloads to identify and implement cost and usage efficiencies.
- Market research and testing of best-fit technologies to meet customer requirements.
- Leading and training junior developers in technical delivery requirements for government customers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cloud Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or 10+ years of equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing solutions in AWS GovCloud and/or one of the following cloud platforms: CloudOne/PlatformOne, DAFCloudWorks, FENCES, ODIN, etc.
- Exceptional ability to solve complex technical problems and execute multi-faceted tasks autonomously, integrating and optimizing diverse cloud services and applications to fulfill business needs while upholding rigorous security standards.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure and architecture, specifically with AWS, including deep knowledge of security best practices and governance policies (e.g., Service Control Policies or similar guardrails).
- Demonstrated experience working within a DevSecOps framework, with a solid grasp of compliance and regulatory requirements relevant to federal or highly-regulated environments (e.g., NIST, ISO, or DoD frameworks).
- Experience integrating at least three of the following technology categories:
- AWS GovCloud – VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, KMS, AWS Organizations, IAM, IAM Identity Center, ECS, EKS, Inspector, Systems Manager, Workspaces, Appstream, Direct Connect, Outposts, Diode, AWS CLI/Boto3.
- Operating Systems – RHEL 8, Amazon Linux 2023, Windows Server 2019+, Bottlerocket
- SaaS Products – Okta, Zscaler Private Access, SmartSheets
- Software – Gitlab, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Palo Alto NGFW & Panorama
- Programmatic Tools – Gitlab-CI, Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Bash, Powershell, Windows Group Policy
- Containers – Docker, Kubernetes, NueVector, Kyverno, Cilium, SonarQube
- U.S. Citizenship and clearance eligibility up to the Top Secret/SCI level.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Federal Government security clearance.
- Master’s degree in Cloud Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, etc.
- Associate or Professional level AWS certification.
- Experience working with customers in the U.S. Public Sector.
The estimated compensation range is $160,000.00 - $185,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset.
