The Role: 

As a Technical Lead at Prezzee, you’ll drive engineering excellence by guiding a distributed team of developers to deliver secure, high-quality solutions across multiple tech stacks. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with strong people leadership—leading by example through architecture design, hands-on coding, and ownership of CI/CD pipelines and production releases.

You’ll play a key role in building and scaling high-performing distributed teams, fostering collaboration across time zones, and ensuring clear communication, alignment, and delivery. Alongside this, you’ll champion best practices, embed a DevOps mindset, and create an environment where engineers can thrive and grow.

• GraphQL Backend for Frontend using Apollo server.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll lead frontend performance and optimisation across Prezzee’s web platform, driving measurable improvements in speed, conversion, and user experience.

• Own Core Web Vitals, page performance, and frontend responsiveness across a React / Next.js stack
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks across rendering, network requests, and bundle size
• Partner with Product, Design, and Growth to optimise conversion funnels and user journeys
• Design and evolve scalable frontend architecture using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Leverage monitoring and analytics tools (e.g. Sentry, Datadog, GA) to inform decisions
• Mentor engineers and lead technical direction within the squad

• Helped roll out a new font as part of our component library in an A/B test
• Developed a new carousel component for our bellroy.com product page gallery - discussed behaviour with our UX team, made it easy to use for our content editors, added it to Storybook for testing
• Discussed, with the wider team, how we might perform end-to-end testing of Astro as an alternative to our existing content rendering tools
• Joined a front end workshop to learn about new tools, with other front end developers
• Attended an ideation workshop with the Digital User Experience team to define solutions to better communicate sizing for Bellroy products on Bellroy.com

This is a full-time role, either based in our Collingwood office or fully remote within Australia or NZ.
