About the Role

The Sales Solution Engineer is a key professional supporting the VTEX Sales team by leveraging strong technical and multifunctional skills. They maintain close collaboration with development and professional services teams to stay updated on the platform's capabilities. Their role involves highlighting business benefits to prospective customers, defining project scopes, creating technical proposals, and ensuring scalability in solutions. This team serves as both the backbone and driving force of the Sales team, focusing on sales planning and understanding partner needs to deliver effective, tailored solutions.

*For this position you are required to attend the office 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday), and remote work on Friday. 

Job requirements

• 3+ years of experience at Solution Engineer/Pre-sales Engineer/Customer Success or similar roles;
• Proven experience managing enterprise-level customer accounts.
• You have experience in developing working relationships across all levels of management, internally and externally;
• You can work multi-functionally with colleagues and managers, internally and externally;
• You can translate complexity into action plans and communications;
• You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of quickly establishing audience confidence.
• You translate the customers' needs into business and architectural solutions;
• You have a tech & math mindset, providing simple solutions to complex problems;
• You are fluent in English (written & speaking).

Nice to have: 

• You have deep knowledge of technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, React, GraphQL, Node.

Responsibilities

• Front-End Excellence
• Implement new user-facing features in the Linqia Platform using Vue.js, Vuex, and TypeScript.
• Translate conceptual ideas (business needs and user goals) into intuitive and engaging experiences.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to define UI/UX strategy and ensure a smooth user experience.
  
  
• Back-End Mastery
• Architect and implement robust, scalable server-side applications using Python.
• Write complex SQL queries (e.g., with Trino or similar) to gather and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain microservices supporting our platform, ensuring seamless integration with front-end components.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational and non-relational databases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RESTful APIs and ensure smooth end-to-end functionality.
  
  
• Code Quality and Collaboration
• Write thoroughly tested features, actively participate in code reviews, and take ownership of the codebase—front to back.
• Develop comprehensive end-to-end integration tests to ensure that systems function as intended.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience
• BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical area of study (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2–4 years of experience as a software engineer/developer, with exposure to both front-end and back-end development.
• Technical Skills
• Front-End: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript with TypeScript, Vue.js, Vuex/Pinia, and Webpack/Vite.
• Back-End: Proficiency in Python, with a strong grasp of building and integrating APIs using FastAPI.
• Databases & Data: Skilled in SQL and database optimization techniques. Experience with both relational and non-relational databases is a plus.
• Architecture & Tools: Experience working with microservices architecture. Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
• Agile Environment: Front-end or fullstack experience working in an Agile setting.
• Testing & Performance: Strong commitment to code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
• Soft Skills
• English language proficiency required.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a knack for creative solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Postgraduate degree in CS or further education/experience in a technical field.
• Experience working in AWS or a similar cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, Azure).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Knowledge of message queues and streaming platforms, such as Apache Kafka.
• Understanding of caching mechanisms and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with performance testing and profiling tools.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks using LLM.
