Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Director, Compliance to join Iterative Health's growing team in New York, NY or Cambridge, MA. This role will be instrumental in leading the strategic development of compliance programs to ensure our clinical trial optimization solutions meet all regulatory requirements across healthcare, clinical trials, and data privacy domains. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare compliance frameworks and the ability to operationalize complex regulatory requirements in a fast-paced health tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Experienced with the compliance aspects of clinical trial & clinical research
• Maintain comprehensive compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and other applicable data privacy regulations
• Lead SOC 2 Type II audit preparation and ongoing compliance, including controls documentation and evidence collection
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures specific to clinical trial technologies and healthcare AI solutions
• Ensure adherence to Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and PhRMA Code requirements in all business relationships
• Monitor evolving AI regulations and their impact on clinical trial optimization platforms

Quality Management & Documentation

• Oversee Quality Management System (QMS) in partnership with other team members, for maintenance and contractual compliance 
• Establish and maintain comprehensive record retention policies across clinical, regulatory, and business functions
• Manage document control processes for clinical protocols, compliance documentation, and regulatory correspondence
• Coordinate with clinical operations team to ensure GCP compliance in trial management and data collection

Contract & Vendor Compliance

• Review and negotiate compliance terms in customer agreements, vendor contracts, and clinical trial agreements
• Conduct vendor risk assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring for third-party service providers
• Ensure contract compliance with healthcare customer requirements, including BAAs and data processing agreements
• Support commercial team with compliance aspects of customer onboarding and due diligence processes

Training & Cross-Functional Support

• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees across all functions
• Serve as primary compliance liaison with external auditors, regulators, and certification bodies
• Collaborate with legal, clinical, and product teams on regulatory strategy and risk mitigation
• Maintain compliance calendar and ensure timely completion of regulatory filings and renewals

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field plus 8+ years of compliance experience in healthcare, biotech, or clinical research organizations; advanced degree preferred
• OR Juris Doctor (JD) or other advanced degree plus 5+ years of compliance experience in healthcare, biotech, or clinical research organizations
• Direct experience with clinical trial regulations and GCP requirements
• Proven track record managing compliance programs in regulated industries

Technical Expertise

• Employment law and HR compliance expertise, including workplace privacy, salary transparency, employee data protection, and regulatory training requirements
• Corporate governance and general business compliance including anti-corruption, export controls, and corporate record-keeping requirements
• Privacy program management across all business functions, including vendor privacy assessments and cross-border data transfer compliance
• Financial compliance awareness including regulatory reporting requirements
• Deep knowledge of GDPR and HIPAA requirements and implementation
• Hands-on experience with SOC 2 audits and information security compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with clinical research regulations (GCP, ICH guidelines, 21 CFR Part 11)
• Understanding of AI/ML regulatory landscape in healthcare and clinical trials

Core Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex regulations into actionable policies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for regulatory correspondence and training delivery
• Project management experience with ability to manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously
• Detail-oriented approach with strong documentation and process improvement capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications (CIPP, CISA, CCEP, CHRC, or similar compliance credentials)
• Experience with international regulations (EU Clinical Trials Regulation, other global markets)
• Background in clinical research or pharmaceutical compliance
• Familiarity with AI ethics and algorithmic bias considerations in healthcare
• Experience with healthcare technology or SaaS compliance programs

WHAT YOU NEED

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is strongly preferred
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency-specific experience preferred; 2+ years of leadership experience 
• Excellent communication and people skills 
• Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs

THE JOB

As a Customer Experience Coordinator, your job is to define the customer’s experience through service, focus, and participation—so, you are passionate about perfecting the experience before, during, and after their time at VEG. • Prepare estimates and present them to customers

• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
• Perform endoscopic procedures
• Educate customers on after care and preventative measures where appropriate

• A DVM or equivalent degree
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery (the soft tissue kind!) and endoscopy
• Thrive in team-oriented environments (think hospital retreats, team dinners, happy hours, and more)
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance

THE JOB

As a Sonographer, your focus is on ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. This means working closely with our emergency doctors to provide same-day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most. You’ll deal with a variety of patient types and scans, so being comfortable adapting to new scenarios and willing to learn new techniques and think outside the box are all part of your day-to-day. You’ll also assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals, inspire and motivate your fellow VEGgies to grow their ultrasound skills, and be ready to pitch in at the hospital whenever and wherever needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

• Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitals
• Maintain good relationships with and accept feedback from teleconsultation radiologists reading your studies (e.g., Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice, etc.)
• Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate, up-to-date sonographic techniques
• Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist
• Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance VEG’s ultrasound training programs
• Regularly meet with the medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs
• Regularly meet with the hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and team concerns
• Coordinate weekly schedule to work on the floor shifts with the hospital manager and medical director and devote time to training responsibilities
• May assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the doctor and nursing team training programs
• May provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEGs, including ultrasound topics, such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies 

WHAT YOU NEED

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.g., sonographer course certificates)

THE JOB 

As a Lead Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, beyond helping people and their pets, you’ll take ownership of supporting your team and ensuring that your hospital is a model of clinical excellence. Job Summary: 
The position is responsible for supporting sales and account management while marketing and ‘selling in’ various patient engagement and educational programs to both current clients and new physician offices, specialty provider groups, and hospitals.  This position is intended to learn different aspects of the sales process, support administratively, and have some opportunity to sell to build growth individually and as a teammate.

THE PROGRAM

The VEG New ER Doctor (NERD) program is designed to transform practicing non-emergency veterinarians into exceptional, confident VEG ER doctors. This six-month deep dive into the action of emergency is a structured, immersive program like no other that allows participants to transition into full-time ER doctors at VEG after successful completion. Integrating academic and clinical teachings with individualized mentorship, this program fuels a passion for ER and creates a deeper meaning around life-saving veterinary heroics. If you’re hungry to learn how to do ER, perform surgeries, advance your endoscopy skills, learn about exotics, and discover the unique rewards of customer-focused care in an open concept hospital, we find a way to say yes to training you in our NERD program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work side-by-side with experienced VEG doctors who will mentor you through real ER cases, offering guidance and feedback every step of the way. This isn’t just shadowing—it’s hands-on learning with built-in mentorship.
• New ER Doctors (a.k.a. NERDS!) get up-close, firsthand ER experience, working 3-4 hospital shifts per week (days, swings, and nights), as well as through weekly case discussions, literature reviews, and hands-on training at state-of-the-art facilities. 
• Learn best practices for client-centered communication and care, the VEG Way.

What CE experiences can you expect to attend during the program?

From hands-on training to weekly didactic learning, NERD program participants earn over 160 RACE-approved CE hours in just six months—which takes most doctors 10 years to complete! Some CE highlights include:
