• Drive a quality-first mindset, advocating for automation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement across BX. 

• Mentor and support other QA Engineers and Developers in quality best practices, shift-left testing mindset, tooling, and design

What we are looking for:  

• Strong experience writing and executing test scenarios, covering technical and product requirements, identifying pitfalls and edge cases, to ensure high confidence in our Releases. 

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, or equivalent automation frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO) using JavaScript/TypeScript. 

• Solid understanding of test strategies, including mocking, isolation, reliability improvements, and root-cause analysis. 

• Proactive ownership mindset, focused on continuous improvement and solving problems at their root. 

• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts and mentor team members.

You're good at..

Right now, we are looking to strengthen further the management of our Container Platform and Kafka Messaging Platform and looking for a DevOps engineer with strong knowledge and experience in Kubernetes administration and managing Kafka infrastructure.  

• Strong knowledge and experience in setting up and administering Kubernetes clusters, preferably with experience with AWS EKS and Rancher RKE. 
• Strong knowledge and experience of managing Kafka infrastructure in a geo-distributed setup, administration, and configuration of such service. 
• Managing Cloud Infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a good understanding of terraform modules and workflows. 
• Experience working with cloud providers, with AWS as preference, and strong knowledge with Cloud provider services such as EC2, ALBs, VPC, and EKS 
• Experience in building scalable and distributed infrastructure
• Experience in using versioned source control to manage code changes
• Familiarity with the open-source monitoring stack of Prometheus/Grafana.
• Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, Powershell or similar

We are looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Information Security Department at Betsson Group in Malta.

The Wow

Our Information Security team plays a critical role across four key pillars: Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness, and Incident Response. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be a trusted technical authority within the team, primarily driving Security Operations while influencing governance, response strategies, and awareness initiatives. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong technical depth, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

Security Operations (SECOPS)

• Lead vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and advanced security testing.

• Partner closely with the SOC team to identify, investigate, and mitigate threats, bringing senior-level insight into analysis and response.

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and processes to continuously enhance our security posture.

• Oversee the consistent application of our physical security policy across all Betsson properties.

• Manage supplier relationships and ensure the Malta offices’ physical security systems are maintained and optimized.

• Fine-tune and own key security tools and platforms, ensuring they operate at peak effectiveness.

Incident Response (CSIRT)

• Act as a senior escalation point during security incidents, leading forensic investigations and providing after-hours support when required.

• Develop and refine response playbooks, ensuring best practices are followed across the organization.

Security Governance (GRC)

• Provide technical expertise to governance teams during policy creation and updates.

• Participate in information security reviews, audits, and due diligence activities, representing the technical voice of the department.

Security Awareness Training (SAT)

What we’re looking for

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. A Master’s degree or higher-level qualifications are a strong advantage.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years in Information Security, with demonstrable experience in Security Operations and Incident Response.

  • 5+ years in broader IT or infrastructure roles.

  • Background in iGaming, telecommunications, or finance is a strong plus.

• Certifications: Security-focused certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly valued.

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of security tools, SIEMs, and forensic techniques.
