Job Title: Locum Paediatric ADOS Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6/7
Location: Bromley, Kent
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Rate: £24.00–£34.50 per hour
Working Hours: Part time – 3 days per week (flexible days)
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Paediatric ADOS Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist children’s service based at the Phoenix Centre in Bromley, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician with experience in Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) assessments to support children undergoing autism assessments across a range of ages and developmental levels.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality diagnostic assessments for children and young people. This role is suitable for clinicians with a background in Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Nursing who hold recognised ADOS training and are passionate about supporting children and families through the diagnostic pathway.
In this role, you will:
• Conduct ADOS assessments for children across Modules 1–4, depending on age and communication ability.
• Support the assessment and diagnostic process for children with suspected Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
• Utilise EMIS systems where appropriate (training can be provided).
• Communicate effectively with children, families, carers, and professionals throughout the assessment process.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised professional qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Nurse.
• Relevant professional registration (HCPC or NMC where applicable).
• Completed ADOS assessment training with proof provided within your CV/application.
• Experience completing ADOS assessments in paediatric settings.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
• Previous EMIS experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

You’ll need HCPC registration as a Forensic Psychologist and experience working with adults in mental health or forensic settings. Strong formulation and assessment skills are essential, along with a collaborative approach to MDT working.
