About the opportunity
- We are seeking an experienced and data-savvy Senior Data Insights Analyst who will join us on a fixed-term contract (1 year), to serve as a strategic partner, driving product strategy, leading complex experimentation, and supporting our mission to power discovery through data.
What will you do?
- Advanced Data Analysis and Insight Generation:Translate complex data landscapes into clear, compelling narratives and strategic recommendations for executive and operational partners. Proactively identify underlying business challenges and illuminate opportunities for revenue growth or efficiency gains.
- Cross-Functional BI Leadership: Act as the primary Business Intelligence consultant across Revenue, Client Services, and Technology teams. Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, intuitive BI solutions (e.g., dynamic dashboards, automated reports) to enable data-centric decision-making.
- Revenue Enablement Partnership: Serve as a critical data partner to Sales and Account Management, leveraging deep client and market insights to build data-powered narratives for high-stakes client engagement and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Data Governance & Integrity: Architect, manage, and govern foundational data models and visualization tools to track mission-critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), establishing a singular, trustworthy source of business truth.
- Operational Excellence & Automation: Champion continuous data lifecycle improvement by assessing data pipelines and reporting mechanisms for bottlenecks. Spearhead automation initiatives to eliminate manual effort and enhance the speed and resilience of the data infrastructure.

- Expert SQL & Data Modeling: Mastery of high-performance SQL; hands-on experience with dbt, BigQuery, and Looker.
- Financial literacy: Deep fluency in financial data and the ability to apply strong business acumen to technical workflows.
- Scalable Architecture: Proven track record of building robust dashboards and data structures that empower self-service analytics.
- Analytical Diagnosis: Ability to independently investigate client performance and identify root causes of business issues.

- Narrative Building: Expertise in "data storytelling"—distilling complex findings into clear, high-impact insights for executive-level stakeholders

About the opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Engineer Consultant for our Data Science & AI department, with deep experience in the advertising industry, to join a team of passionate engineers who build advertising solutions at world scale. We build and operate large-scale distributed machine learning systems that make 1B predictions per second during real-time auctions.
The Principal position at Teads represents the highest level of seniority on the IC ladder. They are tackling cross-functional, strategical, and pivotal initiatives, prioritizing robust engineering choices. Principals are working closely with the Leadership, Product and Engineering teams, all while fostering a culture of excellence.
What will you do?
As a Principal Engineer in our Data Science & AI Department your mission will be to:
- Stay on top of the state-of-the-art science and technology of large scale advertising systems
- Areas of interest are models for CTR and CVR, foundation models for recommendation systems, on-line learning, cold start, embeddings for users, ads and similar,ad matching and ranking, pacing and optimal bidding, auction design, etc.
- Work with teams of data scientists and machine learning engineers to identify investment opportunities
- Help the teams across the organization in implementing the solutions as an advisor
- On projects you choose you will be a part of the implementation team where you will be expected to participate in bringing them projects to the production environment
- Work with product managers to find data science and AI projects with best cost/benefit risk/reward ratios
- Spend time experimenting with new approaches by yourself
- Follow industrial and academic research, occasionally publish at conferences
What will you bring to the team?
- Deep experience of the ad tech industry use of AI and data science
- Strong communication skills, working collaboratively with the team, able to teach concepts, and communicate complicated topics to expert audiences
- Strong problem solving skills, and ability to align teams on solutions
- True scientist skills: fast learner, curious, sense of details, rigorous
- Experience in Statistics (i.e. statistical analysis, regression analysis, …) and/or Artificial Intelligence (i.e. Data Mining, Machine Learning, …)
- Ability to read scientific articles, to analyze critically, and to implement as appropriate
- Good taste in architecture of AI systems
The team
- The AI department currently consists of 50 people who are a mix of data scientists, machine learning and backend engineers
- Your peers will all have deep experience from on-line ad systems from Teads and previous companies. We are staying at the bleeding edge of research and technology
- The department provides technologies that power outcomes of campaigns with a total yearly turn over of $1.7B
- Runs large scale prediction and control systems for ad delivery, dealing with millions of live ads, doing more than a billion predictions per second based on large on-line trained models being updated every 5 minutes
