Senior Product Manager, Checkout Tripadvisor
About Tripadvisor
The Tripadvisor Group connects people to experiences worth sharing, and aims to be the world’s most trusted source for travel and experiences. We leverage our brands, technology, and capabilities to connect our global audience with partners through rich content, travel guidance, and two-sided marketplaces for experiences, accommodations, restaurants, and other travel categories. The subsidiaries of Tripadvisor, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRIP), include a portfolio of travel brands and businesses, including Tripadvisor, Viator, and TheFork.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Checkout Pod. This team is responsible for the most critical conversion point in our marketplace where a traveler moves from browsing to successfully booking their experience.
We hire for versatility because we need people who can tackle the most pressing gaps in our marketplace. You are someone who can drive results in high-stakes transactional flows as priorities evolve. You thrive in environments where you quickly gain context in a complex domain, identify the biggest levers for growth, and start moving the needle immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Velocity & Strategy: Own the end-to-end testing cycle for the Checkout Pod. You will define hypotheses, launch A/B tests, and iterate based on results to drive checkout conversion and post-booking engagement.
Lead the Roadmap: Create and deliver a comprehensive product roadmap for checkout and post-booking experiences, prioritizing initiatives based on impact and strategic value. You will be responsible for measuring and reporting your pod’s impact to the business.
Work Across Surfaces: Lead checkout and confirmation flows across web and mobile app platforms (iOS/Android). You understand the unique nuances of different surfaces and how to create a cohesive, high-trust experience across them.
Navigate Ambiguity: Comfortably operate in situations where technical, regulatory, or business constraints are evolving. You are willing to take bold steps, making data-backed "pivot or persevere" decisions in a high-stakes transactional environment.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Payments, Fraud, Loyalty, App, and Brand teams. You are able to communicate product performance and vision clearly to senior leadership while advocating for the needs of our travelers.
Collaborate with your Pod: Act as the product lead for a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, researchers, and data scientists. You are responsible for keeping the work focused on reliability and conversion, high-quality, and moving at speed.
Who You Are
Experimentation-First: You have a demonstrated ability to develop experimentation strategies that measure both short- and long-term success. You believe product decisions should be validated by data, especially in high-impact flows like checkout.
Customer Obsessed: You start with the traveler and work backward. You have deep empathy for the user and a relentless focus on making the booking experience frictionless, trustworthy, and reassuring.
Marketplace Mindset: You understand how a two-sided marketplace functions. You know that while we are traveler-first, our success also depends on operators and partners, and you can navigate trade-offs between conversion, risk, and operational constraints.
Strong Communicator: You are a motivator and influencer who can convey complex checkout and payments concepts clearly to diverse audiences. You have experience writing concise product requirements and distilling experiment results into clear recommendations.
Versatile & Fast: You can jump into a complex transactional problem space, identify the core challenges, and start contributing in a matter of days. You are comfortable moving from backend logic and platform architecture to user-facing confirmation experiences and in-checkout UX.
Job Location: Remote
This role is a remote position in Portugal & Poland. Occasional travel to company offices as necessary.
Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably in online marketplaces.
Proven experience shipping features in transactional or checkout flows across multiple surfaces, including native apps and web.
A track record of running A/B tests that actually moved the needle on conversion or revenue.
Experience working in a "Pod" or cross-functional team model.
Familiarity with ML-driven features like recommendations or personalization in checkout or post-booking contexts is a plus.
What We Offer
Our Cultural Pillars:
Traveler first
We exist to create value for our customer, the traveler. We enable our suppliers and partners to unlock this value. Their collective behaviors and insights are what drives us.
Execution is our edge
We act fast, experiment, learn from failure, iterate, and improve the solutions of tomorrow across every aspect of our business. Our execution is agile, data-driven, prioritised, and built to scale. We assume no problem is someone else’s problem and finish what can be done today, knowing tomorrow will bring fresh challenges.
We succeed together
The best outcomes are driven by empathic, humble, and diverse subject matter experts working toward shared goals. We collaborate relentlessly, challenge assumptions, give actionable feedback, and set each other up for success through empowered teams with a clear charter. We transparently take ownership of our growth, individually and as a team. We celebrate the quality of our effort, our learnings, and our collective achievements.
We strive to create an accessible and inclusive experience for all candidates. If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or the recruiting process, please make sure to reach out to your individual recruiter or our team at AccessibleRecruiting@tripadvisor.com.
