Compensation and Benefits

Position Overview: Home Furnishings Advisor
The Home Furnishings Advisor is responsible for delivering a unique and personalized guest experience. You will act as a representative of our brand, guiding customers through their home furnishing journey. As a subject matter expert, you will leverage your product knowledge and customer service skills to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Experience
• Sell a wide range of Ashley home furnishings, accessories, and warranties using the Ashley Sales Approach
• Welcome and engage with every guest professionally and attentively
• Deliver compelling product presentations and offer complete solutions including protection plans and financing
• Build and maintain customer relationships through proactive communication during and after the sales process
Post-Sales Administration
• Accurately complete post-sale documentation and ensure order details meet customer expectations
• Provide all necessary paperwork to the Customer Service Department
• Enter accurate customer information into the UPs system, including contact details for future follow-up
• Record advertising efforts and maintain a lead database using customer information forms
Showroom Presentation
• Support store appearance through regular floor recovery and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards
• Ensure every customer has a professional and welcoming in-store experience
Professional Development
• Use company-provided tools and training to enhance sales performance
• Stay informed about product updates and company initiatives
• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching
Performance Expectations:
You will be evaluated on a variety of key performance indicators including:
• Total sales volume and sales per guest
• Bedding sales, close rate, protection plan sales, and average transaction value
• Number of credit applications submitted
• Net gross margin and guest satisfaction (Net Promoter Score)
• Total Piece Exception Rate and related inventory accuracy metrics
Additional Duties:
• Assist with cashiering or merchandise tasks as needed
• Participate in inventory and other operational processes
• Travel to other store locations for training or meetings as required
Schedule Requirements:
• Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week, including weekends
• Additional hours may be required during holiday or peak seasons
• Regular attendance at the assigned store is required
• Two days off per week are scheduled except during holiday periods
Qualifications:
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
• Previous sales experience is helpful but not required
• Comfortable in a performance-driven, customer-focused retail environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service

Your Role: Regional Assistant Selling Manager
The Assistant Selling Manager plays a key role in leading and developing the sales team. You will be responsible for creating a productive, guest-focused environment while actively engaging on the sales floor and supporting the store’s daily operations. You will help drive sales performance, ensure service standards are met, and assist with coaching and team development. You will have a designated 'Home Store' at one of our Hudson Valley locations; Poughkeepsie, Yonkers, Middletown, Kingston, Mohegan Lake - with the expectation for you to be flexible in working location according to meet the business need.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Team Leadership
• Support sales of merchandise, accessories, and protection plans
• Achieve or exceed individual and store-wide sales targets
• Actively engage with guests and guide team members during the sales process
• Maintain visibility on the sales floor (Position to Impact) to assist both customers and staff
• Build team confidence by mentoring and leading by example
Operations and Management Support
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members
• Support sales leadership in scheduling, performance coaching, and goal setting
• Oversee opening and closing procedures and maintain store readiness
• Authorize price adjustments, returns, and cancellations in the absence of store leadership
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service expectations
Onboarding and Culture
• Serve as a role model for professionalism and high performance during new hire training
• Promote company values and reinforce service excellence standards
Performance Goals and Expectations
You will be evaluated based on team performance, sales goals, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Leadership presence, team collaboration, and floor engagement are key success factors in this role.
Schedule Requirements
• Full-time, minimum of 40 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays
• Availability for peak retail periods, holidays, and coverage needs
• Scheduled two days off per week, excluding holidays and blackout periods
• Regular, in-person attendance is required at the assigned store location
Qualifications
• Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience in retail sales or management preferred
• Positive attitude, strong communication, and a commitment to delivering results
• Ability to coach and develop team members in a performance-driven environment
