Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
• Minimum of 2–3 years in an HR Business Partner or strategic HR role.

• Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:

The Home Delivery Lead ensures a seamless experience for guests and vendors by managing home damage claims, vendor billing, delivery routing, and associated paperwork. SALES GENERATION 

• Seek ways to support the sales team and drive overall sales 

• Deliver exceptional performance while assisting in the sales (TO) process 

• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise; ensure selling staff is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge 

• Maximize all in store marketing events, i.e. VIP Events, Private Events 

OPERATIONS 

• Manage and drive 100% compliance of all visual processes

• Build and maintain good communication with members of corporate office, property management and other stores

• Take pride and accountability for the visual appearance of the store 

• Responsible to maintain a selling floor that is neat, clean, organized and reflects the correct visual image at all times 

• Ensure presentation of all displays, fixtures and all visual areas are reflective of current visual direction. 

The SM may occasionally perform duties such as unloading trailers or merchandising as needed for proper store operation.  The SM will also perform other duties as assigned from time to time; have the ability to lift, lower, push or pull furniture up to and in excess of 100lbs and to stand for long periods of time. 

Schedule Expectations 

• This is a full time role, with a scheduled 40 hours per week with open availability working holidays and weekend.   

• During peak times, they may be asked to work overtime hours to support the store. 

• Regular attendance at the home store for business needs is an essential function of this position. 

• Occasional Travel for special projects at other regional stores. 

Education & Experience Preferred 

• Degree in retail management, visual merchandising, graphic design, interior design, marketing or related field required; Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education. 

• 1-year experience in retail visual merchandising or design.

Your Role: Sales Manager 

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the performance of the sales team. You will create a culture of accountability and success, focusing on driving KPIs, guest satisfaction, and overall store performance. Essential Functions

Successfully complete a detailed, high-intensity, 6-month onboarding process to ensure confidence and readiness for long-term success, work directly with the Vice President of Sales or Area VP of Sales and other Regional Directors to develop annual goals and strategies for the market, take full responsibility for the P/L of each store in the region.

Lead and manage the team by focusing on FDE’s seven critical sales leadership processes: manage and monitor staffing, onboard new team members, engage, develop, and performance manage team members, manage and execute FDE’s proven sales process, manage prospecting and follow-up, manage quality and compliance, and maintain Position to Impact.

Demonstrate mastery of FDE’s Leadership Toolkit, attend training sessions including Managers Meetings, Product and Vendor Training, Leadership Training, and Managers Essentials to continuously improve abilities, coach and develop leaders such as Sales and Development Managers, Managers in Training (MITs), Sales Managers, Assistant Selling Managers, and Coaches.

Focus on achieving essential sales KPIs including:

Ensure sales functions support the company’s mission and values, attend and facilitate Retail Performance Tours and Retail Performance Meetings to ensure alignment in People, Performance, Process, and Presentation, ensure showrooms are always guest-ready, take team opportunities and overflow guests to train team members and maintain personal sales process proficiency, assist in executing store openings, relocations, remodels, and closures to support enterprise profitability, and participate in Enterprise Excellence Projects to improve business processes and strategies when selected.

Secondary Functions

Use Continuous Improvement tools to enhance store safety, quality, productivity, and cost metrics, perform competitive shopping to stay informed about the local market, promote and build the Ashley brand through community involvement and events, and maintain strong product and process knowledge to understand Ashley’s position in the marketplace.

Schedule Expectations

Work a minimum of 45 hours per week including Saturdays and/or Sundays, with increased hours during holidays, blackout periods, or for business needs, scheduled for two days off per week except during peak periods, maintain regular attendance at assigned stores, and travel up to 75 percent of the time.

Education and Experience Requirements

Five to seven years of retail sales and sales management experience in a multi-store, high-volume organization required, preferably with experience in retail or hospitality (furniture experience preferred but not required), demonstrated career growth and tenure in district or regional management roles overseeing multiple locations.

Your Role: General Sales Manager

The General Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the full sales operation within their assigned location. Your Role: General Sales Manager

The General Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the full sales operation within their assigned location. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing a high-performing team, and ensuring all sales objectives are achieved. The General Sales Manager leads by example, staying Positioned to Impact (P2I) on the floor, driving results through coaching, planning, and collaboration with other departments. You will have a designated 'Home Store' at one of our Hudson Valley locations; Poughkeepsie, Yonkers, Middletown, Kingston, Mohegan Lake - with the expectation for you to be flexible in working location according to meet the business need. 

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Leadership
• Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals
• Analyze sales trends and data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth
• Set and monitor clear performance goals for all sales roles
• Provide regular coaching, direction, and performance feedback to sales managers and team members

FDE’s Sales Leadership Processes
• Manage staffing levels to align with store traffic and turnover
• Oversee onboarding and cultural integration of new team members
• Support development and performance management of all team members
• Ensure consistent execution of the Ashley Proven Sales Process
• Lead prospecting and follow-up efforts to grow the customer base
• Ensure compliance and high standards across all sales activities
• Maintain active presence on the sales floor to coach in real-time (Position to Impact)

Leadership Development
• Apply principles from FDE’s Leadership Toolkit
• Participate in leadership and vendor training, manager meetings, and development sessions
• Mentor future leaders including Sales Managers, Assistant Managers, and Trusted Advisors

Daily Store Operations
• Lead daily huddles and coaching scrimmages to set the tone for the team
• Assign team opportunities and assist with guest interactions
• Guide team members in developing sales techniques and exceeding KPIs

Sales and Business Performance
• Achieve store-specific sales budgets by managing team execution and staffing-to-traffic ratios
• Improve sales performance in areas such as close rate, average sale, and sales per guest
• Track and manage key metrics including protection plan sales, sleep category, net margin, financing applications, and appointment rates
• Monitor and improve Net Promoter Score (NPS) and reduce Total Piece Exception Rate

Showroom and Compliance Standards
• Lead weekly Perfect Store Visit meetings to maintain operational alignment
• Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Regularly coach, assist, and manage team performance through active engagement

Schedule Requirements

• Full-time, minimum of 40 hours per week including weekends
