About You and The Role 

Zipline’s Nest Applications Software team builds and manages the fulfillment, maintenance and flight systems that power our operations in Africa. We are responsible for the software that manages medical inventory, order processing, and flight coordination for automated delivery at scale. Our work spans internal platforms that streamline supply chain, and financial workflows, as well as external-facing applications that allow customers to place and track orders. By connecting every corner of the business through software, we ensure Zipline can operate efficiently, intelligently, and globally.

What You'll Do  

• Deep dive into your users’ problems to simplify operational workflows which enable the business to move efficiently 
• Architect simple, modular, flexible software systems that evolve with fast changing business needs.
• Lead backend and frontend development of major projects across all aspects of a modern tech stack.
• Establish strong automated testing practices across unit, integration, and system layers.
• Improve reliability, observability, and operational robustness of production systems.
• Systematize AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and operations.
• Maintain clear engineering patterns, code quality standards, and review discipline.
• Mentor junior engineers through direct coaching, pairing, and design reviews.
• Increase team throughput by reducing friction, simplifying architecture, and eliminating waste.

What You'll Bring 

• 8+ years building and operating production-grade distributed systems.
• Deep experience developing full stack software using Python, Go, or a similar object-oriented language.
• Frontend experience using React or similar Javascript frameworks.
• Experience architecting distributed and event-driven systems using Kafka or similar technologies.
• Database modeling and performance tuning experience with Postgres.
• Demonstrated history of designing systems that are simple, flexible, and resilient.
• Proven implementation of comprehensive automated testing strategies.
• Experience driving architectural decisions in fast-changing environments.
• Track record of mentoring and growing junior engineers.

Nice to Haves

• Experience building modern fulfillment, logistics, or warehouse systems.
• Willingness to spend significant time in Kigali, Rwanda, via travel or relocation.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and AWS.

The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. About You and The Role  

Do you want to not only make a difference in your community but around the world? Zipline is looking for an IT Support Engineer to support our teams in Rwanda.
As an IT Support Engineer at Zipline, you will use your technical skills and top-notch customer service to provide support for computer hardware, networking, operating systems, and application software. You will troubleshoot and solve straightforward problems, create documentation where necessary and be a pioneer in streamlining the IT processes in Rwanda. You will be crucial to our business, ensuring we are driving our mission forward and that our teams are running as smoothly as they can to deliver every life-saving package as efficiently as possible.
This role entails addressing issues as they arise across multiple distribution centers and operational countries in Africa and  will require at least 75% of your time working at a Distribution Center. 

What You'll Do

• Provide technical support for  our Help Desk ticketing system.
• Partner with our cross-functional, multinational teams to establish global standards and processes for IT inventory monitoring/shipping, IT onboarding for new team members, establishing safe security protocols for all devices, educating and guiding users on technical concepts and more.
• Support the implementation of IT policies across multiple distribution centers.
• Analyze IT Support inquiries to identify recurring user problems, recommend solutions, identify areas where service can be improved, and establish improvement plans.
• Write and implement technical guides to resolve basic issues and understand common workflows.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical guidance and education for users.
• Manage user access to resources and SaaS applications via identity management tools, following least-privileged/RBAC practices.
• Ensure timely follow-ups with user tickets and drive issues to resolution.
• Monitor network performance across the various distribution centers, and work with IT Engineering and ISP’s to resolve issues locally.
• Use Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools to manage device policies globally.
• Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Work as part of a global team across multiple time zones, countries, and languages.

 What You'll Bring

• HND or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer / Networking Engineering or related fields with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.
• Experience with providing stellar customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment using tools such as Google Meet, Zoom or Teams
• Knowledge in the following: Enterprise productivity tools (Google workspace, Microsoft 365), Identity Management (Okta, OneLogin, Entra ID), Operating System Administration (MacOS/iOS, Windows, Linux,
• ChromeOS etc) and device management (Kandji, Jamf, Intune, Jumpcloud).
• Knowledge of Networking Protocols, VPN’s and network security.
• Experience using Jira Help Desk or similar ticketing tools.
• Experience with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
• Experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment  and liquidation.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into simple language for users to understand.
• Must be eligible to work in Rwanda.

About the Role

The Global Procurement Senior Associate ensures 3+ country PRO teams have the capabilities, tools, mastery, and professionalism to deliver high-quality materials and services on time, in full, at the best price, every time, anywhere, without any opportunity for fraud or losses. This role also owns several key procurement processes across all countries, beyond the ones s/he manages directly.

Responsibilities

Drive Procurement Execution Excellence Across Markets

• Deliver cost-competitive, high-quality goods and services through strategic sourcing and innovative procurement approaches.
• Ensure strong operational performance across country procurement teams, including on-time delivery, supplier performance, and payment efficiency.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen negotiation capability and value-driven sourcing across markets.

Build & Develop High-Performing Procurement Teams

• Manage and coach country procurement leads, fostering strong execution, compliance, and customer service.
• Build team capability through training, coaching, and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in supply chain management, procurement, or operations.
• Experience managing and coaching teams, including remote or distributed teams.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive problem solver who anticipates risks and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in the relevant and Master's degree would be an advantage.
