We are looking for: Drafting Engineer who will strengthen our Engineering & Operations team.

The ultimate goal of this role is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation (drawings and 3D models) for production orders and support the manufacturing process by preparing, checking, and maintaining all required engineering data.

Responsibilities:

• Verify that drawings and 3D models are available in production orders and comply with order parameters
• Create missing drawings or develop 3D models when required
• Independently retrieve necessary technical data from internal systems and databases
• Upload and maintain accurate documentation (orders, drawings, and models) in internal systems
• Support the production process by ensuring technical documentation is complete and correct
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in engineering data
• Ensure high quality and accuracy of all engineering outputs

A successful candidate:

• Speaks and conducts business correspondence in English (B1 level or higher)
• Has at least 1 year of experience in an engineering role, preferably mechanical engineering
• Has experience with CAD software (Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Can read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Has a strong interest in manufacturing and production processes
• Is willing to learn and develop professionally
• Is detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently
• Is ready to solve non-standard engineering tasks

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Understanding of CNC machining (milling, turning) and sheet metal manufacturing

Role Overview

We are seeking a DFM Engineer to join our Project Engineering team. This role is a replacement due to a recent termination. The DFM Engineer will collaborate closely with customers across various industries — including aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, and medical devices — to evaluate manufacturability, optimize designs, and ensure successful project delivery.

You will work directly with Xometry’s manufacturing partners, internal teams, and customers to solve engineering challenges and support production execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements using Xometry’s technologies and capabilities.

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure quality and cost efficiency.

• Support production troubleshooting to ensure smooth order execution and customer satisfaction.

• Interface with machine shops, fabrication partners, internal teams, and clients to drive project success.

• Participate in initiatives to expand and strengthen Xometry’s manufacturing partner network and technical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 2–4 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• 1–2 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience focusing on CNC machining and/or sheet metal fabrication.

• Strong understanding of process cycle times, material and geometry limitations, and cost optimization.

• Experience collaborating with suppliers, OEMs, and customers.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).

• Solid knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices.

• Proven ability to identify DFM issues from CAD models and technical drawings.

• Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing is highly desirable.

Additional Technical Expertise (Preferred)

• Knowledge of 3/4/5-axis milling and turning with live tooling.

• Familiarity with post-processing and plating finishes for machined parts.

• Experience with specialty processes such as EDM, grinding, honing, and lapping.

• Understanding of material selection and forming technologies (press brake, laser/waterjet cutting, welding, stamping).

We are looking for a Pricing Engineer who will strengthen our Sales team. The role requires extensive practical experience as a CNC Technologist. Projects are mainly international, therefore knowledge of written technical and, to a sufficient extent, business English is a must. You must be competent to read ISO standardized drawings in English and communicate directly in writing with the customer to clarify unclear technical requirements.

Functional responsibilities:

• Analysis of incoming drawings / CAD models in English / German;
• Calculation of production costs (materials + machine hours + post-processing);
• Providing process recommendations (if necessary);
• Formalizing the results of calculations and transferring them to colleagues from the commercial department;
• The main criterion for evaluating an employee in this position: quality and efficiency of processing incoming requests (ideally within 1-2 working hours after receipt);
• Systematization of their work, participation in setting tasks to automate processes.

Requirements for applicants:

• Graduate engineering degree - Metalworking Process Engineer, Design Engineer or similar;
• 5+ years of experience in metalworking / mechanical engineering;
• Expert knowledge of various metalworking methods: turning, milling, CNC machining, electrical discharge machining, sheet metal working - laser, waterjet, plasma cutting, welding;
• Knowledge of various metal post-processes: polishing, hardening, heat treatment, anodizing, sanding/blasting, coatings, painting, etc.;
• Knowledge of different construction materials and their processing properties: metals, plastics, composite materials;
• Good knowledge of English for reading drawings. If there was experience in reading drawings in German - a big plus;
• IT enthusiast, ready to master and use modern technologies and software;
