Operations Engineer (Internal + SaaS)

Clinical Architecture is seeking an Operations Engineer (Internal + SaaS) to join our team in the Indianapolis, IN area. This role is responsible for the implementation, operation, and ongoing support of internally facing systems and Clinical Architecture’s SaaS environments, which support both internal teams and client-delivered solutions.

This position focuses on ensuring Clinical Architecture’s SaaS and internal environments are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with product and engineering needs. The Operations Engineer will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Client Support teams to enable successful client deployments while not directly managing client-hosted environments.

Responsibilities 

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot internally managed and SaaS-hosted Clinical Architecture environments.
• Support application deployments across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure owned or managed by Clinical Architecture.
• Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to support build, release, and deployment processes.
• Ensure internal and hosted environments meet availability, performance, and security requirements.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for internal teams related to environment or deployment issues.
• Maintain documentation for internal platforms, deployment patterns, and environment standards.
• Assist with environment readiness to support client implementations and upgrades.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to automation, monitoring, and operational maturity.

Skills

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relational databases; working knowledge of SQL required.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
• Experience supporting web services and APIs.
• Basic programming experience in C#, Java, Python, or equivalent languages.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, IIS, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, or environment provisioning preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA) is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
• Motivated to continuously learn and expand technical skill sets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; College or University degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in application implementation, internal platform support, SaaS operations, or equivalent technical roles.
• Experience supporting internally managed or hosted production environments required.
• Experience working with Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Product Support teams strongly preferred.

Implementation Engineer (Client Support)

Clinical Architecture is seeking an Implementation Engineer (Client Support) to join our team in the Indianapolis, IN area. This role will guide the technical implementation of our applications and software and provide service as a continual resource during the lifespan of the client relationship. This position will challenge the Implementation Engineer to learn our software and its capabilities and assist our clients with their technical initiatives.

Responsibilities 

• Install, update, and troubleshoot clients’ software deployment issues across various infrastructure environments.  
• Offer implementation guidance and technical support to clients using Clinical Architecture software and web services. 
• Ensure a positive client experience by delivering exceptional service and engage with clients throughout our business relationship. 
• Understand client requirements thoroughly and utilize available resources to propose solutions.  

Skills: 

• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and troubleshooting skills. 
• Proficiency in relational databases; some proficiency in SQL required. 
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred. 
• Experience troubleshooting web services.
• Basic programming experience required in C#, Java, Python, or equivalent languages.  
• Familiarity with Windows Server / IIS and cloud hosting / computing is preferred. 
• Familiarity with coding formats such as HL7, FHIR, CCDA is preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.  
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter and thrive in a team environment.  
• Motivated to acquire new skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience 

• 5 years in technical implementation support experience or equivalent is required. 
• Client support experience is required.
• College or University degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required. 
• Experience working in Engineering, Implementation Architecture, or Product support a plus.

We're looking for a seasoned Senior or Principal Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, strong architectural instincts, and the leadership presence to raise the bar across the entire engineering organization. What You'll Do

• Architect and lead the design of scalable, high-performance systems across our full stack using TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and React
• Drive technical strategy — evaluate tradeoffs, establish patterns, and make foundational decisions that will shape the platform for years to come
• Own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end, from discovery through delivery, with minimal direction
• Design and build data infrastructure — data pipelines, warehousing solutions, and the data models that power product analytics and customer insights
• Develop and integrate ML-powered features where applicable, including model evaluation, feature engineering, and productionizing models at scale (strong plus)
• Mentor and grow engineers at all levels through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance
• Partner cross-functionally with Product and Design to refine roadmap items into well-scoped, high-impact work
• Leverage AI-powered developer tooling (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and set a standard for how the team integrates these tools into everyday workflows
• Champion (pun intended) extensible, secure, and observable software patterns across the organization

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of leading technical initiatives on high-performing teams
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Vu, and/or Python; strong ability to ramp quickly on new technologies as the stack evolves
• Demonstrated experience architecting and operating distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs at scale
• Strong hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS or Google Cloud), including infrastructure design and cost-conscious scaling
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with relational database design, query optimization, and schema evolution
• Experience with data warehousing and data pipeline development (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow) — strong plus
• Exposure to machine learning workflows — feature engineering, model serving, or MLOps — in a production environment (strong plus)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote-first environment
• A strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies
