We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Cyber Security and Data Protection Engineering department. based out of our Bangalore office three days a week,In this role, reporting to the Sr Manager of Engineering, Cyber Security and Data Protection. You will build quality into products that secure mobile devices, applications, and data for millions of users who rely on our service for comprehensive protection and data security. Our team develops innovative solutions across web filtering, policy enforcement, next-gen firewalls, and CASB, utilizing real-time analytics to provide unmatched visibility through a state-of-the-art NOC.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong object-oriented design and coding skills

Proficiency in Python, Java, or C programming and a strong grasp of operating systems, TCP/IP, and Linux

The Challenge
We are looking for a Senior level SDET to support our product development teams. As the Principal SDET, you will play a crucial role in shaping and leading our software testing strategy. - 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Circle CI, or Azure DevOps, with the ability to create test pipelines using Java or Groovy.
- 4+ years of experience with Selenium or Cypress frameworks for automating GUI (User Interface) and end‑to‑end tests.
- 4+ years of experience with REST Assured or similar tools such as Postman for API automation.
- 4+ years of experience working in a highly automated CI/CD environment.
- 4+ years of experience with source control tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
- 2+ years of experience analyzing logs for troubleshooting using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Coralogix.
- 3+ years of experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure, with exposure to services such as Gateways, Redis, Storage, Virtual Machines (VMs), and Kubernetes clusters.

The Role
The Senior SDET - Browser & Extension Testing will own test strategy, quality architecture, and the automated regression infrastructure for Securly's onboard filtering project — building the test systems that ensure a safety-critical Chrome extension works correctly for millions of students and keeps working through every browser update and policy change.
The onboard filtering project is a high-risk architecture change to a widely-deployed extension. A regression in allow/block decision logic, cache invalidation, or bypass prevention could expose students to inappropriate content or disrupt school operations. The test infrastructure you build is the last line of defense before production.
At L5, this is an engineering leadership role, not a QA role. You will define what 'production-ready' means for a safety-critical student product, enforce that standard through CI/CD quality gates, and contribute to extension development directly.

What You'll Do
- Define what 'passing' means for the onboard filtering project: establish written quality criteria covering correctness, security, and performance that gate production releases.
- Design and implement automated test suites covering block/allow decisions, iframe handling, cache invalidation, TTL expiry, fallback behavior, and filtering decision engine edge cases.
- Build CI/CD quality gates that prevent regressions from reaching production; own the pipeline configuration and ensure the quality bar is enforced, not advisory.
- Model bypass threats systematically: document how students exploit timing windows, iframes, DOM manipulation, redirect chains, and DNS TTL behavior — then build automated tests that catch those bypasses.
- Measure and establish written performance baselines: page load latency impact, service worker memory usage, cache sync overhead across realistic Chromebook hardware profiles.
- Contribute to Chrome extension development work in TypeScript/JavaScript alongside test responsibilities.
- Serve as the team's expert on bypass threat modeling: your analysis of how students circumvent filtering is an input to the implementation team's architecture decisions.
- Mentor engineers on test architecture as a first-class discipline.
Skills & Requirements
Must-Have
- Chrome Extension development (MV3) — same production bar as the Implementation engineer. Must develop, debug, and test Chrome extensions at production quality.
- TypeScript & JavaScript mastery — expert-level for both implementation work and building robust automated test suites.
- Test automation (SDET-level) — Puppeteer, Playwright, or Selenium with extension loading. Must automate filtering behavior tests covering block/allow decisions, cache state machines, and bypass scenarios.
- CI/CD quality gates — integrating test suites into pipelines; defining and enforcing regression gates. L5 means you own the definition of the bar.
- Browser security model — testing bypass scenarios requires genuine understanding of how students exploit timing, iframes, DOM manipulation, and DNS TTL.
- Technical communication — written bypass threat models, quality criteria documents, and performance baseline documents.
Strongly Preferred
- Performance / load testing — measuring extension performance impact and establishing baselines across device types and hardware profiles.
- Cross-browser development (Edge/Chromium) — test coverage differences and MV3 compatibility issues between Chrome and Edge.
- Web filtering / content classification — understanding of URL categorization, domain matching, and allow/block decision logic.
Nice to Have
- Data pipeline testing — ETL correctness and data quality validation.
- ChromeOS device testing — physical Chromebook or ChromeOS VM test experience; Google Admin Console force-install behavior.
- K-12 EdTech domain — understanding of how districts deploy and manage extensions.

- You think like an attacker when writing tests — you do not test the happy path and call it done. You document attack vectors so the implementation team designs against them.
- You have shipped production Chrome extensions and built the test infrastructure around them. You know both sides of the work.
- You treat test architecture as a first-class engineering discipline. A feature without a regression suite is not finished.
- You define what 'quality' means on a safety-critical product and produce written criteria that hold the codebase to that standard.
- You contribute to development, not just testing — this is an L5 engineering role, and your TypeScript ships alongside your test suites.
- Your bypass threat model documents are used by the implementation team to make better architecture decisions.

Opportunity Overview:
We’re looking for a senior-level automation engineer who will help raise the bar on release quality, environment reliability, and change safety across Cohere’s platform. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Platform, and SRE to build scalable automation, guardrails, and validation systems that reduce production risk while increasing delivery velocity.
This is not a “test scripts only” role. You’ll shape automation strategy, embed quality into the SDLC, and help define how changes move safely from dev → staging → UAT → prod in a fast-moving healthcare platform.
You’ll help define how quality scales as Cohere grows. This role has real influence over release safety, platform reliability, and how engineering teams ship software in a regulated, high-impact domain. You won’t just test features — you’ll shape how Cohere delivers them safely to production.
What you’ll do:
- Own and evolve Cohere’s end-to-end test automation strategy across UI, API, config changes, and critical workflows
- Design and maintain scalable E2E automation frameworks for multi-tenant, payer-specific workflows
- Build automated validation for deployment guardrails, release readiness, and production change safety

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following skills and traits:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, software engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
5-8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a test automation engineering role involving programmatic interaction with a system under test.
Experience utilizing Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Eclipse, Ant or Maven, Unix, and an automated unit test framework, such as TestNG.
Experience developing against web services and Web-based APIs.
Experience developing and executing formal test plans, data sets, and test configurations for assigned feature areas.
Helpful skills and experience:
Familiarity with the concepts involved in running cloud-based applications on platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
Experience with the pharmaceutical industry.
Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI systems.
Exposure to testing LLM-based applications, including prompt validation and response evaluation.
Familiarity with multi-agent LLM workflows and coordination patterns (e.g., agent orchestration, tool usage, chaining).
Experience designing test scenarios for AI systems, including edge cases, hallucination detection, and output consistency checks.
Knowledge of evaluation metrics for LLM outputs (e.g., accuracy, relevance, latency, and robustness).
Exposure to automation frameworks or tools for validating AI/ML model behavior.

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer / SDET to drive quality across our AI-native backend services and platform systems. You will own test automation strategy, release quality gates, and quality engineering practices — working closely with backend engineers (Java + Python), product managers, and platform architects. This role focuses heavily on validating hexagonal architecture adapters, Kafka event pipelines, multi-database correctness, and AI scoring model outputs.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks for Java microservices built on hexagonal architecture — with distinct test strategies for the domain core, adapter layers (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis/Aerospike), and external integrations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites: functional, integration (Testcontainers), regression, contract, and end-to-end across all adapter implementations.
• Validate Kafka event pipelines: consumer behavior, event ordering, idempotency, poison pill handling, and dead-letter queue processing.
• Validate MongoDB document integrity, PostgreSQL relational consistency, Cosmos DB partition correctness, and Elasticsearch index accuracy across service boundaries.
• Design and execute golden dataset test scenarios — seeding realistic dealer and customer data to validate scoring accuracy, suppression correctness, and attribution logic.
• Validate Python-based AI/ML service outputs: scoring model results, recommendation correctness, and LLM response safety gates.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers and architects to embed quality early in hexagonal domain design and adapter implementation.
• Drive testability improvements by influencing API design, logging, observability, and error handling.
• Own release quality and go/no-go decisions by defining and tracking quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and monitor quality metrics: test coverage, defect leakage, flakiness, MTTR, and automation ROI.
• Lead root cause analysis for production issues and drive preventive measures.
• Mentor junior QA/SDET engineers and set best practices across teams.
Skills & Experience
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in QA Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
• Strong test automation expertise using modern Java-based frameworks; working knowledge of Python test frameworks (pytest) is a strong plus.
• Deep experience testing distributed microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka-based architectures.
• Experience with Testcontainers for integration testing across MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Elasticsearch locally.
• Strong understanding of Kafka testing: consumer behavior, event ordering guarantees, and idempotency validation.
• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL testing patterns: data integrity, schema migration validation, multi-tenant isolation verification.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch test strategies: index correctness, relevance, and query result validation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience validating AI/ML model outputs and scoring pipeline correctness.
• Exposure to contract testing (Pact or similar) and service virtualization for hexagonal adapter boundaries.

Responsibilities:

About the Team
The Core Engineering team is responsible for working on the beloved ClickHouse open-source project while working cross-functionally across engineering and product teams as we develop and expand our Cloud service offering. We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer who will focus on improving the efficiency and quality of both our open-source and cloud offerings. You will build out automation of critical operational functions that ensure ClickHouse Cloud operates smoothly worldwide and at our massive scale. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with strong technical skills and a background in release engineering.
What will you do?
- Build and enhance test automation frameworks and develop automated test cases.
- Try out new features and ensure they land smoothly in Production.
- Test cross-functional implementations across internal teams at ClickHouse.
- Implement new testing strategies and automation for large and complex distributed systems.
- Evaluate the new functionality of ClickHouse for each release, and identify opportunities in the existing codebase for improvement.
- Engineer and improve existing testing infrastructure.
About you:
- Extensive knowledge of SQL.
- Previously worked in a similar SDET, Release Engineering, or QA role related to a classical database or distributed system.
- Have hands-on coding experience with Python
- Can read C++ code for validation.
- Working knowledge of Git, Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience with both manual testing and automation testing.
