Position Summary

ON.energy is looking for a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to support the supplier quality activities related to battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the full equipment lifecycle—from procurement and factory testing to site delivery and installation. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, supply chain, and construction teams in the processes of selecting, auditing and evaluating suppliers, reviewing vendor’s Inspection and Test Plans, coordinating and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and provide field support during installation and commissioning for key components including batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear and ATS, and auxiliary systems. This role focuses on preventing quality issues at the source – ensuring suppliers maintain robust manufacturing and test processes – and tracking non-conformances through resolution prior to shipment. 

This role is best suited for engineers with hands-on experience working with manufacturing suppliers of electrical or industrial equipment. The role focuses on suppliers manufacturing critical electrical equipment used in utility-scale energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Supplier Selection, Evaluation and Qualification based on the company’s Supplier Quality processes and tools.
• Support the definition and documentation of Supplier Quality processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable requirements.
• Perform supplier process audits at new and existing vendors to evaluate manufacturing processes, production controls, and supplier quality systems in alignment with company standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Ensure all activities related to the Supplier Audit process are properly maintained and executed, including the Audit Planning and Reporting documentation.
• Update the supplier quality database (Documents Control).
• Management of supplier related quality issues, guiding the root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and process improvements, ensuring effective and sustainable solutions are in place.
• Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), FAT procedures, Control Plans and / or quality control documentation packages.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at OEM and ensure test results and documentation meet approved criteria.
• Identify, log, and track non-conformances (NCRs); drive timely root cause analysis and corrective actions with vendors.
• Review and validate supplier material traceability records, certificates, and inspection reports.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to qualify new vendors and support supplier onboarding.
• Provide supplier performance feedback and input to quality metrics and supplier scorecards.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable quality documentation packages for each project.
• Support development and continuous improvement of quality standards, templates, and best practices across equipment types.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes and production controls to ensure suppliers can consistently meet technical and quality requirements.

Must Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or a closely related technical field)
  or equivalent hands-on experience working with electrical equipment and systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• 3-7 years of experience in supplier or product quality engineering within the energy or manufacturing industry
• Hands-on experience with electrical power systems, BESS, inverters, transformers, switchgear, or other similar equipment 
• Experience with supplier process audits including evaluating supplier manufacturing processes (VDA 6.3 or similar process audit frameworks are a plus)
• Working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and manufacturing quality tools (8D, SPC, PFMEA, control plans, FAI / PPAP)
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (IEEE 1547, UL 9540/9540A, IEC, ISO 9001, NEC) and general equipment test protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical understanding of manufacturing processes
• Willingness to travel (up to 75%) to vendor locations (domestic and international) and project sites
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities; capable of interfacing effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tier 1 energy equipment manufacturers
• CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Familiarity with quality management tools, NCR tracking tools, and dashboard reporting.
• Experience supporting supplier quality activities during New Product Introduction (NPI).

Position Summary

The Vessel & Terminal Auditor Superintendent supports the Director, Marine Risk by providing maritime technical and operational expertise to ensure that all marine activities are conducted safely and in full compliance with Venture Global’s standards, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. 

This position assists the Director, Marine Risk in managing marine risk at Venture Global terminals and third‑party facilities, as well as providing marine subject matter expertise across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities

Terminal Operations

• Conduct audits of LNG terminal facilities in line with the OCIMF MTMSA framework. 
• Provide strategic marine support and subject matter expertise (SME) based on industry best practices and due diligence standards. 
• Promote marine HSSE performance and provide oversight to VG terminal HSSE teams on marine‑related activities. 
• Work closely with Marine Supervisors and Persons‑in‑Charge (PICs) to ensure safe and efficient cargo operations. 
• Support the Marine Risk Advisor in maintaining the marine risk register and assist terminal HSSE teams with mitigation implementation. 
• Develop site‑specific marine procedures aligned with international, federal, and industry regulations. 
• Support MTMSA and TMSA audits with buyers and ship operators, including documentation review, audit completion, report preparation, and observation close‑out. 
• Provide marine risk management support to VG’s operating and project facilities. 
• Assist with marine training initiatives, promoting marine safety and operational best practices. 
• Serve as SME for incident investigations, non‑conformity close‑outs, and audit findings. 
• Work with the Marine HSSE and Crisis Management teams to maintain and exercise marine emergency response plans. 
• Track and analyze HSSE statistics and KPIs for all marine operations.

Future Project Development

• Provide marine SME support to Venture Global’s projects and development teams. 
• Offer guidance on design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness for marine and terminal systems.

Audit and Assurance

• Provide effective marine advice and problem‑solving solutions based on best practice, due diligence, and regulatory compliance. 
• Ensure safe operations within company, national, international, and industry standards. 
• Support regulatory and environmental compliance programs. 
• Conduct internal safety audits to promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement. 
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to prepare materials and documentation related to Venture Global’s marine “safety case.”

Vessel Operations

The following responsibilities are to be carried out in close coordination with the Venture Global Ship Management (VGSM) team:

• Conduct ISM, ISPS, and MLC internal audits in accordance with the VGSM audit schedule. 
• Verify vessel compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS), statutory regulations, Flag State, and Class requirements. 
• Perform pre‑vetting, navigational, cargo, and safety inspections to ensure vessels are prepared for external inspections (e.g., SIRE 2.0, Port State Control). 
• Evaluate crew competence, training records, and adherence to onboard safety procedures. 
• Review onboard risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions. 
• Identify gaps and non‑conformities; issue clear audit reports and ensure verification of close‑out actions. 
• Coordinate with vessel Masters, Chief Engineers, and shore management to ensure timely and measurable improvements. 
• Support the Marine and HSEQ departments in developing audit tools, checklists, and training materials. 
• Provide performance feedback and recommendations to ship management on fleet safety and operational culture.

Qualifications

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree, or Marine Class I Certificate of Competency (Deck or Engine). 
• Minimum: Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, or Second Engineer experience on a gas carrier (LNG/LPG) in compliance with SIRE 2.0 requirements. 
• Preferred: Master Mariner with command experience. 
• Must hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. 
• Lead Auditor Training Certificate required.

Experience:

• Experience in marine and terminal operations, with practical application of the OCIMF MTMSA framework. 
• Significant sea‑going service aboard tankers (preferably chemical, LPG, or LNG) in a senior officer capacity. 
• Oil, Chemical, and/or Gas endorsement required. 
• Proven experience conducting terminal, technical operator, and contractor audits, with strong understanding of tanker inspection processes. 
• Understanding of contractor management in 3rd‑party marine operations, including pilotage, towage, and line handling. 
• Experience with commissioning and startup activities is an advantage. 
• Understanding of project development, safety management, and marine risk.

Overview 

The Site ReadinessTechnician plays a critical role in ensuring all delivered and installed equipment meets the project Quality Plan, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications. This role performs detailed receiving inspections, validates construction quality after mechanical completion, and ensures Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment is ready for commissioning and energization. 

The ideal candidate has strong experience in utility-scale power systems—such as BESS, solar, thermal/gas turbine, or other power plant environments—and thrives in a fast-paced, travel-heavy field role. 

Key Responsibilities 

Equipment Receiving & Quality Inspections 

• Perform incoming inspections of electrical and mechanical equipment including BESS containers, battery racks/modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, telecommunications cabinets, and auxiliary systems.

• Validate that all delivered equipment matches approved submittals, drawings, and the project’s Quality Plan, meeting ON.energy’s high industry standards.

• Document shipping damage, deviations, and non-conformances; initiate NCRs and coordinate with engineering, vendors, and construction teams for resolution. 
   

Mechanical Completion Verification 

• Inspect equipment installations after mechanical completion to verify workmanship quality, adherence to codes/standards, and compliance with OEM requirements.

• Conduct detailed inspections on wiring terminations, cable routing, torque requirements, labeling, grounding, conduits, and enclosure integrity.

• Review and verify that installation meets NEC, IEEE, UL 9540/9540A, relevant utility standards, and project-specific QA/QC criteria. 
   

Documentation & Reporting 

• Maintain thorough inspection reports, punch lists, redlines, and photographic documentation.

• Track and verify corrective actions, ensuring issues are closed prior to energization or commissioning handoff.

• Support QA Manager in maintaining project-level Quality Plans and documentation control. 
   

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Work with construction teams, commissioning engineers, EPC partners, and OEM representatives to resolve field quality issues.

• Communicate findings clearly and professionally across disciplines, escalating issues when required.

• Support readiness reviews, quality walkdowns, and pre-energization verification activities. 
   

Required Qualifications 

• 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

• Power plants (thermal, gas turbine, peaker, etc.)

• Utility-scale solar

• Battery Energy Storage Systems

• High-voltage electrical or industrial environments 

• Data Centers 

• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, one-lines, installation manuals, and QA/QC documentation.

• Experience performing field inspections, equipment verification, or construction quality control.

• Willing and able to travel over 80% to project sites nationwide.

• Understanding of codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, ISO/IEC, and utility requirements. 
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in QA/QC, commissioning, or field service roles.

• Familiarity with BESS architectures, inverters, transformers, MV equipment, and SCADA/telecom cabinets.

• Certifications such as NETA, AWS CWI, ISO 9001 auditor, or OSHA 30.
