What You Will Lead

As the Civil Superintendent II, you are the senior field commander—directing, guiding, and empowering multiple Superintendents while ensuring Alpha’s performance, culture, and quality show up in every phase of construction.

Drive Field Operations at Scale

• Lead, coach, and oversee multiple Civil Superintendents, ensuring alignment with project priorities, safety standards, and organizational expectations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and division leadership to coordinate multi-jobsite execution.
• Translate project objectives into clear, actionable plans for superintendents and field teams.

Build High-Performing Teams

• Recruit, develop, and mentor A-players—building a deep bench of high-performance foremen, crews, and rising leaders.
• Conduct performance evaluations, hiring decisions, corrective guidance, and advancement planning for direct reports.
• Promote unity, communication, and shared ownership across jobsite leadership.

Own Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance

• Enforce Alpha’s safety culture and training standards across all assigned projects.
• Ensure every crew understands and follows proper equipment use, protective gear requirements, and hazard protocols.
• Uphold strict quality control measures—from drawings and specs to execution and inspections.

Manage Budgets, Schedules & Project Controls

• Approve, negotiate, and manage change orders while maintaining budget targets.
• Forecast manpower, materials, and equipment needs for multiple project sites.
• Monitor schedule performance, resource allocation, and cost impacts; engage proactively to keep work on track.

Champion Communication & Problem-Solving

• Serve as the primary field escalation point—resolving conflicts, addressing site issues, and driving quick, effective decisions.
• Lead regular meetings with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to communicate progress and solutions.
• Interpret and communicate plans, drawings, and specifications with precision.

What You Bring

We’re looking for an A-player superintendent—someone who has mastered field operations and is ready to lead at the next tier.

Experience

• 8–12 years of progressive heavy civil construction experience, including multi-project or multi-site leadership (higher than standard Superintendent level).
• Proven success supervising other Superintendents, General Foremen, or large multi-crew operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex civil scopes, tight timelines, and diverse teams.

Education & Technical Expertise

• Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; familiarity with MAC, HCSS, HeavyJob, or Adobe systems preferred.
• Expert-level ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints—and teach others to do the same.

What You Will Do

Hunt for the Right Work

• Identify and pursue concrete construction bidding opportunities in both public and private sectors.
• Monitor government publications, bid boards, and industry channels for upcoming projects and long-range opportunities.
• Stay proactive in building visibility into the pipeline, not just reacting to what lands on your desk.

Build Relationships That Lead to Future Wins

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.

Break Down the Bid Before the Bid Breaks You

• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, schedules, and related bid documents in detail.
• Define scope, identify risk, and evaluate changes or gaps in the documents that impact pricing, production, and execution.
• Read between the lines and catch the issues that can make or break a job.

Own the Numbers

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for concrete-related scopes, including formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, concrete placement, finishing, curing, jointing, and related interfaces.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, material, trucking, pump, and production costs to build complete and competitive estimates.
• Solicit and level quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers, aiming for thorough scope coverage and minimizing exposure.

Think Beyond the Spreadsheet

• Coordinate estimate development with attention to access, phasing, sequencing, placement logistics, production constraints, and constructability.
• Support value engineering ideas and alternative approaches that improve competitiveness without compromising execution.
• Prepare executive-level bid summaries that clearly communicate assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and key risks.

Set Operations Up to Win

• Support the handoff from estimating to operations with clarity and discipline.
• Ensure project teams understand the estimate logic, pricing assumptions, scope boundaries, and operational risks tied to the bid.

What You Bring

Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on concrete construction estimating experience.
• Experience with Heavy Bid and Heavy Job is required.
• Experience preparing bids for public and private construction work.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.

• Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, bid document analysis, and applicable construction regulations and codes.

What You Will Do

As Senior Staff Accountant, you’ll help keep Alpha’s accounting operations running sharp. You’ll support the Controller, partner with internal teams, and bring discipline to the financial details that matter.

Own the Accounting Fundamentals

• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations with accuracy and urgency.
• Maintain the general ledger and support day-to-day accounting activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and month-end adjustments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and help ensure financial records are clean, complete, and audit-ready.

Support Month-End, Year-End & Reporting

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Generate financial reports in NetSuite and assist with variance analysis.
• Help leadership understand what the numbers are saying — not just what they are.
• Assist with audits and provide timely, accurate documentation when needed.

Drive Project Accounting & Job Cost Discipline

• Track and analyze job costs across multiple projects by cost code and phase.
• Support monthly WIP schedules and project close-outs.
• Help connect accounting data to field and project realities.

Strengthen Systems, Controls & Process

What You Bring

Experience

• 4–6+ years of accounting experience.
• Construction, project-based, or job cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and WIP reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Audit support experience preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or CPA track is a plus.

Technical Skills

• ERP experience required; NetSuite preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP.
• Familiarity with ASC 606 is a plus.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
