Our Field Engineers ensure customers' experiences with Scale's technology are seamless and optimized to build a successful, long-term partnership. Field Engineers partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to lead existing customers through building production-grade data pipelines. We do this by knowing our customer’s use-cases inside and out, and creating the tooling and documentation needed to scalably support their growth.

The Role

The Field Program Manager (FPM) is a hands-on leader aligned to a US Army Division HQ who serves as Striveworks’ primary program leadership presence for the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program. You are able to sense the needs of the customer, identify evolving demands, and then synthesize that feedback into actionable suggestions for Striveworks’ product teams.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Developing and validating machine learning models and custom analytic algorithms that are applied to image, video, text, geospatial, time series, and structured data
• Implementing AI-based software solutions for cloud and edge environments
• Conducting mission-critical fieldwork in support of customers and other stakeholders

This position offers a hybrid/on-site work environment at customer sites at Schofield Barracks in Oߵahu, Hawaiߵi. You will be expected to travel up to 30% of the time, including some international travel.

• Experience working with federal, state, and/or local government customers

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $175,000–$205,000/year. Striveworks’ total compensation package includes a competitive base salary, equity grants, and cash bonuses.

What You’ll be Owning:

• We are actively searching for Data Scientists, located in Hawaii, to support our team. We have varying levels of Data Scientist roles, depending on years of experience and education.

What You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR Associates degree with 5 years of relevant experience

• Relevant experience must be in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least one high-level language (e.g., Python)), statistical analysis (e.g., variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models), data management (e.g., data cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineering. THE ROLE

As a Senior AI Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for integrating AI into Khan Academy product features, collaborating with our Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Content teams to develop tools and processes that ensure the consistency and quality of AI implementations.

• Technical Proficiency: You have experience working in software engineering, data science, or related technical roles. Experience with python and/or go preferred.

You have a knack for structured, analytical thought, and you’re detail-oriented with high standards for quality. You understand techniques—including prompt chaining, RAG, tool-calling, and fine-tuning—for guiding generative AI outputs in service of a robust and performant enterprise product.
• Strong technical project management skills: our Senior Software Engineers often lead projects that involve multiple engineers.
• Testing and quality assurance: You’re committed to a careful, iterative, data-driven approach for optimization, innovation,  and continuous experimentation. You have experience developing evaluation data sets for benchmarking model fit and task-specific performance.
