Position Overview:

As a 3D Video Artist for the marketing team, you will execute 3D animation and motion graphics advertising content for game titles across Small Giant Games portfolio. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating a high volume of diverse creative content and can also contribute ideas & concepts inspired by value propositions or selling points that catch the audience’s attention.

What You'll Do:

• Create high-quality 3D animations (character, environment, lighting, rendering) and 2D animations and motion graphics using Spine and After Effects
• Edit and composite 3D/2D renders, gameplay footage, motion graphics, sound effects, and music into polished, high-converting video ads
• Utilize generative AI tools throughout the production pipeline
• Build marketing-specific levels in Unity, iterate gameplay scenarios per brief, and capture footage for use in ad creatives
• Conduct ongoing competitor creative research and monitor mobile market trends across key social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) to inform ideation and briefing
• Work with the Production Lead, Creative Producers, Performance Marketing Managers and stakeholders to develop video ads that resonate with audiences and meet key performance indicators
• Work with the internal creative team and come up with both original ideas and variations on industry trends. Then independently transform those concepts into ad creatives

What You Bring:

• Proven track record as a 3D Artist, Animator or similar role in the gaming industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D, or Maya) and 2D animation (After Effects or Spine)
• Expert knowledge of Adobe After Effects (including scripting and advanced plug-ins like Red Giant and Trapcode) and Adobe Photoshop
• Extensive experience utilizing generative AI tools for video production
• Proficiency in Unity for building marketing levels, set up gameplay scenarios, navigate scenes, extract assets, and record footage
• Solid understanding of animation principles with a keen eye for motion, composition, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy
• Strong ability to translate market and competitor research into actionable creative briefs and concept ideation
• Solid understanding of UA advertising and user motivations across different networks; familiarity with mobile gaming trends (RPG genres)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and quick turnarounds
• Exceptional communication skills and a team-first attitude

Bonus Points:

• Adobe Illustrator & Graphic Design skills are a big plus
• Ability to supervise external designers and provide relevant feedback to improve quality against KPIs

The opportunity
We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team in Helsinki. You will focus on facilitating Web API development and improving our core API Gateways, which process a billion daily calls. Our Gateway platform provides foundational features to handle authentication, authorization, rate limiting and many other features to develop, publish and operate APIs at scale. Our goal is to make it simple for service teams to expose endpoints through our Gateways and use core API features using our platform directly — while ensuring high API standards and consistency across all Unity services.

As a member of our team, you will develop impactful features that address API management challenges and contribute to our platform strategy, making a significant impact at Unity. We prioritize maintainability, resiliency, performance, security, and robust code, with a strong focus on developer experience. You'll work alongside senior backend developers, as well as the product team. Our team works mostly on backend and infrastructure related matters, but our platform is the foundation for how our Unity’s customers interact with our products.

What you'll be doing

• Participate in all phases of software development from design/architecture through implementation, testing, and maintenance. Building platform features that facilitate the development and operation of Web APIs
• Support teammates in code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning
• Participate actively in customer support by directly engaging with internal teams and assisting them in resolving any challenges or questions they may have
• Collaborate with our product manager, stakeholders, and customers to understand friction points, proposed solutions, and promote the adoption of our tooling
• Participate proactively in refinement and strategy sessions with the team, promoting collaboration and mutual assistance

What we're looking for

• Able to design, develop and maintain high-quality web services and/or gateway solutions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with other teams and stakeholders
• Experience developing code leveraged by other developers
• Experience in Golang / TypeScript, or any other commonly used language for web development
• Experience with Google Cloud (or any of the other major Cloud platforms)
