Position Overview:
We are looking for more professionals to join our ranks. You will be participating in the development and maintenance of our internal, in-house developer, web tools, web dashboards, and services used by our player support, external support partners, and game teams. Some of the languages we use include Typescript, Scala, Java, C#, Python and Go.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for developing & maintaining our in-house developed web tools, used by player support, external support partners, and game teams.
- You will be working closely with player support, development and analytics teams
- Implementing and maintaining our backend integrations with 3rd party services
What You Bring:
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- A solid history in professional programming
- Experience in web development and modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular)
- Good understanding of Typescript, Scala, Java, C#, Go or other statically typed languages
- Experience in working with RESTful and web APIs
- A razor sharp mind and the ability to learn new things extremely quickly
- A positive “can-do” attitude
Bonus Points:
- Understanding of AWS infrastructure or experience with public cloud
- Experience with MongoDB
- Solid understanding of application and cloud security
- Interest in games and game development
- Interest in AI and AI powered workflows

- Improving and implementing UI elements and visualisations for our internal dashboards
- Maintaining the analytics services infrastructure
What You Bring:
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Experience in web development and modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React)
- Good understanding of Typescript, Go, Scala, Java or other statically typed languages
- Basic or intermediate level SQL skills
- Comfortable with math, numbers and statistics

Software Engineer - Unity Services Foundation
The opportunity
We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team in Helsinki. You will focus on facilitating Web API development and improving our core API Gateways, which process a billion daily calls. Our Gateway platform provides foundational features to handle authentication, authorization, rate limiting and many other features to develop, publish and operate APIs at scale. Our goal is to make it simple for service teams to expose endpoints through our Gateways and use core API features using our platform directly — while ensuring high API standards and consistency across all Unity services.
As a member of our team, you will develop impactful features that address API management challenges and contribute to our platform strategy, making a significant impact at Unity. We prioritize maintainability, resiliency, performance, security, and robust code, with a strong focus on developer experience. You'll work alongside senior backend developers, as well as the product team. Our team works mostly on backend and infrastructure related matters, but our platform is the foundation for how our Unity’s customers interact with our products.
What you'll be doing
- Participate in all phases of software development from design/architecture through implementation, testing, and maintenance. Building platform features that facilitate the development and operation of Web APIs
- Support teammates in code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning
- Participate actively in customer support by directly engaging with internal teams and assisting them in resolving any challenges or questions they may have
- Collaborate with our product manager, stakeholders, and customers to understand friction points, proposed solutions, and promote the adoption of our tooling
- Participate proactively in refinement and strategy sessions with the team, promoting collaboration and mutual assistance
What we're looking for
- Able to design, develop and maintain high-quality web services and/or gateway solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with other teams and stakeholders
- Experience developing code leveraged by other developers
- Experience in Golang / TypeScript, or any other commonly used language for web development
- Experience with Google Cloud (or any of the other major Cloud platforms)
You might also have
- Expertise with Gateway related technologies (Istio, Envoy, etc.)
- Expertise with Kubernetes
- Expertise with using Agentic workflows natively in your daily work
