Business Operations Specialist
The Business Operations Specialist provides leadership and strategic oversight for all financial management, contract administration, procurement, quality control, and administrative activities related to government contracts. This is a hybrid role based in Woodlawn, MD, with 40% onsite work.
The Work:
- Reporting to the Program Director, this supervisory role guides team members in maintaining contractual obligations and compliance with federal regulations.
- A successful candidate will manage core PMO governance and administration, including invoicing, reporting, document quality, systems management, onboarding/offboarding, audit compliance, and serve as the program’s primary support contact.
- The position requires exceptional leadership skills and comprehensive knowledge of government contracting provisions to effectively direct staff and operations.
- Governance includes coordinating program-wide risk and issue management, driving regular reviews and supporting mitigation strategies.
- Utilize superior communication skills to oversee the delivery of complex issues, reports, and deliverables to government counterparts while providing strategic direction across organizational components.
- In this leadership position, the Business Operations Specialist directs the evaluation and optimization of existing procedures and processes to increase program efficiency and address contractual issues.
- The specialist supervises the coordination of task order changes including proposal pricing, financial forecasting and scheduling, and budgeting while directing government-compliant invoicing and accurate labor reporting processes.
- This role involves providing daily supervision of the Business Operations Staff and overseeing the creation and maintenance of program reporting mechanisms for each contract year.
- The specialist leads coordination efforts with customer agencies for all onboarding and security requirements, including security clearance documentation.
- As a senior team member, the specialist supervises the technical liaison functions between the company and federal agencies, guiding staff in maintaining comprehensive documentation of all contract activities.
Here’s What You Need:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- 10 + years of experience supporting procurement, business operations, or contract management for a large civilian agency
- 10 + years of experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and government contracting provisions
- 10 + years of experience in federal business operations and contracts management
- 10 + years of supervisory experience in evaluations of procedures, processes, and systems; financial analysis and government-compliant invoicing; personnel security and onboarding processes with federal agencies
- 10 + years of experience directing task order changes and budget management
- 10 + years of experience overseeing analytical studies and report preparation with charts and graphs
- Bachelor's Degree
- This is a hybrid role based in Woodlawn, MD, with 40% onsite work
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Previous experience as a federal employee in contracting, security management, or business operations
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
- Federal Acquisition Certification or similar credentials
- MBA or similar credentials
- Experience as a Contracting Officer or Contracting Specialist

What you'll do:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned closer who understands the mission-critical nature of asset visibility—from the tactical edge to the cloud—and has the established relationships to navigate classified procurement cycles.
- Execute Mission-Driven Sales: Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities within the IC, moving from initial discovery to enterprise-wide adoption.
- Master the Hybrid Landscape: Evangelize the Armis Centrix™ platform as the authoritative source of truth for assets across on-prem, air-gapped, and Cloud-native environments.
- Partner with Systems Integrators: Collaborate with the "Big 5" Federal Systems Integrators (FSIs) and specialized mission partners to include Armis in multi-year Programs of Record.
- Navigate Procurement: Expertly manage the complexities of the MIP/NIP funding cycles and classified contract vehicles.
- Deliver Technical Value: Work closely with Cleared Sales Engineers to demonstrate Armis’s unique agentless visibility into IT, OT, IoT, and Cloud-native assets.
What we expect:
- Experience: 10+ years of documented success in enterprise software or cybersecurity sales, specifically focused on the U.S. Intelligence Community.
- Local Presence: Must be based in the Maryland / Northern Virginia / DC metro area to facilitate frequent on-site engagement in classified environments.
- Cloud Proficiency: Proven experience selling cloud security (CSPM, CWPP) or hybrid-cloud infrastructure solutions to federal agencies.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI is mandatory. Candidates with an active Full Scope Poly (FSP) will be given high priority.
- Network: An existing, high-level network of GS-15/SES and C-suite contacts within the IC and DoD.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into mission-success outcomes for agency stakeholders.
The salary range guidance for this position is: $140,000 - $175,000
