ABOUT THE JOB
As a Software Engineer in the Discovery team, you will tackle a diverse range of challenges in networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more. Your work will ensure seamless integration of Anduril products to achieve critical outcomes. You will work on a fast paced team and have opportunities to watch your creations operate in fielded deployment environments. Above all, Software Engineers at Anduril must embody a “Whatever It Takes” mindset—executing tasks expediently, scalably, and pragmatically while prioritizing the mission. You will make sound engineering decisions to deliver high-quality outcomes on time. In addition to building the software, you will work directly with customers to deploy it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment from across our portfolio of programs and products
- Standing up the infrastructure, simulation solutions, and integrations for agent development
- Create data analysis and validation workflows
- Collaborate closely with customers, product designers, researchers, and other engineering teams to shape and build new software products and applications, optimizing for maximum value to the end user.
- Work with internal and external customers to understand simulation requirements and develop efficient modeling and simulation solutions for agent training
- Identify problems; solve them: implement robust, high-quality solutions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical discipline
- 3 - 8+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis
- Hands-on experience with Docker for building and managing containerized applications, deploying and scaling services on Kubernetes clusters, and configuring CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning training infrastructure and deployments
- Expertise in virtualization and containerization technologies
- Experience with SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure design, development and deployment for complex systems

- 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
- Ability to travel up to 25% to both domestic and international locations, as needed
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building or inventing something: an app, a website, game, or startup
- Professional software development lifecycle experience using tools such as version control, CI/CD systems, etc.
- Experience building scalable backend software systems with various data storage and processing requirements
- Experience with industry standard cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and software infrastructure fundamentals

As a site reliability engineer in Discovery, you will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more, while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs along the way. Your efforts will ensure that Anduril products seamlessly work together to achieve critical outcomes.
You’ll work closely with software, data, and operations engineers to get systems into the hands of customers, deployed and supported on real infrastructure, with real users.
Above all, Site Reliability Engineers must be driven by a “Whatever It Takes” mindset—executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound decisions to deliver successful outcomes on-time and with high quality.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Improve Anduril’s operational capabilities by improving our core product offering through root cause analysis and creating tooling capable of managing large scale deployments
- Drive continuous organizational improvement by leading post-mortem events involving diverse stakeholders
- Quickly diagnose and resolve system issues across cloud, robotics, and mesh networking architectures
- Lead the organization in building scalable, sustainable mechanisms to continue delivering to customers at the pace the business is scaling
- Design, develop, and deliver solutions using modern technologies that ensure scalable and fault tolerant delivery of systems to the warfighter
- Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to identify technical solutions to their problems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- STEM degree or equivalent technical experience
- Technical expertise and demonstrated performance in one or more of the following areas: networking, cloud technologies, application development, hardware design, and/or cybersecurity
- Minimum of 5 years of operations and engineering experience
- Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to drive consensus across internal and external stakeholders
- Experience developing and delivering solution to evolving problems in complex environments
- Experience in the technical, programmatic, and operational challenges of developing and deploying autonomous weapon systems across command echelons
- Experience delivering and maintaining systems that run on air-gapped and security-hardened networks
- Experience building scalable solutions along with plans for implementation. Not just the end state, but what are the steps needed to get there while maintaining the customer experience
- Experience performing data-driven root cause analysis on complex systems
- Ability to understand, debug, and modify software written languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or C++
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

ABOUT THE JOB
As a Senior Software Engineer on Space Ground Software, you will own the architecture and deployment of software solutions that support customer missions for space operations and mission management. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop modular capabilities to support the DoD and IC customers across the space domain. This will involve the architecture of the Space C2 system based on top of the Anduril Lattice software platform, to include infrastructure, algorithms, and integrations to support both orbital and ground systems. The Anduril Space C2 capability development will involve integration with legacy systems that have been part of our nation’s critical defense for decades as well as new space systems being added to the cache of orbital and ground-based capabilities.
We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers
- Own the development of Space C2 and Mission Management capabilities to enable delivery of end-to-end mission systems
- Integrate with legacy systems to unlock 21st-century capabilities
- Write code to improve products and scale the mission capability to different users more customers
- Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
- Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
- Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps
- Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements
- Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
- Clear communication and organizational skills including documentation and training material

This will involve the architecture of the Space C2 system based on top of the Anduril Lattice software platform, to include infrastructure, algorithms, and integrations to support both orbital and ground systems. The Anduril Space C2 capability development will involve integration with legacy systems that have been part of our nation’s critical defense for decades as well as new space systems being added to the cache of orbital and ground-based capabilities.
We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers
- Own the development of Space C2 and Mission Management capabilities to enable delivery of end-to-end mission systems
- Integrate with legacy systems to unlock 21st-century capabilities
- Write code to improve products and scale the mission capability to different users more customers
- Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
- Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements
- Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
- Clear communication and organizational skills including documentation and training material
- 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.

Team Overview
The Platform Security Engineering (PSE) team builds security into Anduril's products from architecture through production. We work directly with business lines to design and implement security solutions tailored to their systems — then promote proven patterns into shared, composable platform services that the entire organization can use. Our mission is threefold: build security solutions for business lines, promote those solutions into the platform, and enable teams to build and operate securely on their own. The scope includes cryptographic protocol design, hardware root-of-trust architectures, secure communication for autonomous and robotic systems, operating system hardening, and distributed security infrastructure across embedded, edge, and cloud environments.
Job Description
We're looking for a principal-level engineer to serve as a technical leader for platform security across Anduril. This role combines deep expertise in cryptography, systems security, and secure architecture with the ability to drive security strategy across business lines and the platform. You'll own the design of Anduril's most critical security systems — cryptographic infrastructure for autonomous platforms, hardware root-of-trust architectures for robotic systems, secure communication protocols for contested environments — and you'll set the technical direction that shapes how security is built into every product. This is a role for someone who has designed and shipped security systems at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software, and can lead others through complex technical decisions with lasting consequences.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and architecture for platform security across Anduril's product ecosystem
- Design cryptographic systems, protocols, and key management architectures for autonomous and robotic platforms operating in contested and disconnected environments
- Lead the design of hardware root-of-trust architectures integrating TPMs, TEEs, HSMs, and secure boot across diverse embedded platforms
- Drive the strategy for promoting business-line security implementations into shared, composable platform services
- Serve as the senior technical authority for security architecture reviews across the organization, providing definitive guidance on cryptographic design, protocol security, and system hardening

Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant depth in systems security and cryptography
- Expert-level knowledge of cryptographic protocol design, including key management architectures, certificate systems, and cryptographic agility
- Deep experience with hardware security: TPM, TEE, HSM, secure boot, and hardware root-of-trust design across multiple platform types
- Proficient in two or more of: C++, Rust, Go
- Experience designing security architectures for embedded, real-time, or robotic systems with constrained environments
- Track record of leading cross-organizational technical initiatives and driving architectural decisions that span multiple teams
- Strong ability to communicate complex security concepts to engineering leadership, product teams, and external stakeholders
- Experience performing and leading threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and cryptographic design reviews
- Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with post-quantum cryptography, distributed key generation (DKG), or threshold cryptographic schemes
- Background in defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems with exposure to FIPS 140, Common Criteria, or NSA CSfC requirements
- Experience designing secure communication protocols for autonomous platforms or mesh networks

Team Overview
The Platform Security Engineering (PSE) team builds security into Anduril's products from architecture through production. We work directly with business lines to design and implement security solutions tailored to their systems — then promote proven patterns into shared, composable platform services that the entire organization can use. Our mission is threefold: build security solutions for business lines, promote those solutions into the platform, and enable teams to build and operate securely on their own. The work spans cryptographic protocols, operating system hardening, secure boot, hardware security integration, authentication systems, and distributed protocol security across embedded, edge, and cloud environments.
Job Description
We're looking for senior and staff-level software engineers to design and build security solutions across Anduril's product ecosystem. You'll partner directly with business line engineering teams to understand their systems, threat models, and security requirements — then design and implement solutions that range from custom, business-line-specific implementations to shared platform services. The problems you'll work on span the full stack — secure hardware, operating systems, container orchestration, distributed services, and cloud infrastructure — and you'll move between them as the mission demands. We value engineers who are strong generalists: comfortable learning new domains quickly and working across security boundaries rather than specializing in just one.
We're also open to hiring talented software engineers with less security-specific experience, provided they have a strong track record building production software at scale, learn fast, and are motivated to go deep on security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement security features and services for business line products — including custom solutions when platform capabilities don't yet exist
- Identify patterns across business line implementations and promote them into shared, composable platform security services
- Build tooling, libraries, and reference implementations that enable engineering teams to adopt secure patterns independently
- Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling for business line and platform systems
- Implement cryptographic protocols, key management systems, and certificate infrastructure
- Work across the technology stack: secure hardware (TPM, TEE), operating systems, container orchestration, and application-layer security
- Provide hands-on engineering support to business line teams adopting platform security services
- Collaborate with the Security Applications & Tools team on cross-cutting security infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing production software in large-scale environments (8+ for Staff level)
- Proficient in at least one of: C++, Rust, or Go
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: you can design, build, and operate complex systems and pick up new domains quickly
- Experience working on security for distributed systems, or demonstrated ability and motivation to develop deep security expertise
- Ability to work directly with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into working implementations
- Comfortable working across multiple problem domains rather than specializing in a single area
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to negotiate and reach consensus across teams
- Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or willingness to learn in a subset of the following:
- Designing and implementing secure protocols, APIs, or cryptographic systems
- Integrating secure hardware (TPM, TEE, HSM)

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. The team also develops Lattice for Mission Autonomy, Anduril’s premier software platform that enables masses of Fury, Barracuda, and other first and third party robots to collaborate across various missions. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers and roboticists excited about creating a powerful autonomy software stack that includes computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Write and maintain core libraries and services that perform critical functions for collaborative teams of robots - for example, motion deconfliction and contingency management of fast mover air vehicles.
- Own major feature development and rollout of large, complex features for our products - recent examples include developing terminal-phase autonomy for various air vehicles and developing a test plan on live surrogates.
- Work closely with Anduril and 3rd party vehicle hardware teams, as well as operational subject matter experts (fighter pilots, UAV operators, etc.) to align on requirements during product development and iterate towards a final design.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years experience in one or more of the following: motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, set technical direction, and manage full project lifecycles from concept to deployment.
- Deep understanding of integrating various sensor systems and utilizing various techniques for perception and decision-making.

About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead our Distributed Simulation efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for building a new distributed simulation product to enable heterogeneous groups of robots to collaborate together across multiple physical sites. Ideal candidates will be comfortable at all stages of the product life cycle, from initial scoping of user requirements, to the architecture of a solution, to the implementation of that solution.
What You'll Do
You will be expected to use your prior expertise to make well-reasoned arguments for a design that accounts for:
- differing visions of “truth” on the server and client
- latency between clients and the server
- where to do GPU-intensive computation
- registering new robots with the network
- shipping software updates without compromising availability
- moving data across segregated networks
- monitoring of simulation state for post-exercise debugging and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- Recent (<2 years in the past) experience writing and maintaining software codebases with significant complexity
- Prior experience in distributed simulation, especially from writing network-based multiplayer games or from a similar defense context
- Experience as a tech lead and mentor for teams of at least 5 other engineers

We are looking for a talented full stack software engineer to join our growing team at Anduril Labs in Washington, DC. As a full stack software engineer in Anduril Labs, you will help bring innovative, next-generation concepts to life through proof-of-concept development and rapid prototyping using bleeding edge technologies.
The ideal candidate has exceptional software development and creative problem-solving skills, is a self-starter, and can quickly grasp complex concepts. As a full stack software engineer, you possess the skills to architect, develop, and deploy distributed applications and services, including both front-end and back-end components. You have experience with agile, end-to-end software development lifecycle and are comfortable developing and deploying code across Windows and Linux-based systems (including standalone bare-metal hardware, virtualized environments, and cloud-hosted platforms). Embedded software development experience is a plus. You are also proficient in integrating legacy code and systems, leveraging open-source technologies, and developing and utilizing APIs. ABOUT THE TEAM
The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. - Build and maintain tools that ease building and releasing Open Source software at Datadog
- Build and maintain tools that ease ingesting Open Source software at Datadog
- Create developer facing documentation and training materials around contributing to open source and maintaining open source projects
- Interface with open source communities to understand problems and trends in the market
- Create tools to automatically analyze and report on Open Source repositories trends and statistics
- Interface with [Datadog Open Source Partners] (Datadog for Open Source Projects | Datadog ) candidates and recipients to select new projects for the program and ensure that the program stays useful
- Research and write content for the [Datadog Open Source Hub] (Open Source Hub )
- Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancements suggestions), documentation, or code
Who You Are:
- Approximately 3+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner.
- You are fluent in reading and writing one or more languages, e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, C#, Rust, and so on.
- You love building tools that make other engineers more productive.
- You have empathy, collaboration, and communication skills to cultivate strong relationships across various teams in the organization.
- Bonus: You are (or have been) an active member of an open source community.
- Bonus: You are familiar with different Open Source licenses and Contributor License Agreements
