We are looking for an Operations Lead to join our rapidly growing Discovery team in Washington DC or Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering across the business to design scalable processes, drive operational excellence, and optimize tools and systems that support our team across all functional areas. You will inform business strategy and deliver data-driven insights that enable revenue generation across the organization. This will require strong analytical skills, a knack for process improvement, and experience working with cross-functional teams. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Corporate Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to develop and refine strategic reporting and planning processes and goals so Anduril can hit aggressive growth targets
• Serve as a trusted advisor on best practices for growth systems (i.e., Salesforce), championing data integrity and governance standards, and supporting growth leads in refining forecasts and business opportunities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently possesses or eligible to immediately obtain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Minimum 5-6 years managing complex technical software programs or 5 years in consulting for aerospace and defense.
• Strong technical background with familiarity in systems engineering, software development, and hardware/software integration.
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and supporting tools.

Anduril’s Finance team is looking for a highly strategic and experienced finance leader to drive growth through critical strategic initiatives across our organization. This role will lead the financial planning, analysis, structuring, and funding of complex, non-routine project finance initiatives, and drive them from inception to execution.

The Corporate Development team at Anduril has the coolest job in the tech sector - we lead Mergers & Acquisitions activities for the most interesting defense products company in the world, and we create meaningful strategic partnerships with other fast-moving startups and large global corporations. As a Corporate Development Associate, you will perform market research on areas of the market into which we are considering expansion, evaluate the capabilities of potential targets within that market, research previous M&A transactions and comparable public companies, value target businesses, and assist in deal execution.

This role is most similar to an associate-level position in finance or strategy consulting, with slightly more focus on execution and tangible financial analysis and without the typical pretense of those industries.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• You will be cranking on analyses critical to developing a thesis on a market or specific company. It’s helpful if you are already familiar with the defense market, but fast learners can catch up pretty quickly. You will carefully scope research projects for our internal market research team, evaluate externally-produced research tools and reports, develop expert network screening questions and interview guides, navigate the federal budget and the J-books, and dive deeply into procurement data to understand market dynamics.
• We’re not huge on PowerPoint decks, but the slides you produce will be thoughtful, well-researched, and well-formatted for an executive audience.
• Financial modeling is also a component of this job. You should be capable of pulling comps and assembling a valuation model with the ability to change scenarios based on the unique attributes of a particular business.
• Obsessively take meeting notes, summarize findings and action items, and draft memos for internal and external executives. Track the progress we made on deals every week and summarize into work products catering to different internal audiences.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Massed Effects (MFX) Team within the Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Division at Anduril provides customers a high reliability, trusted solution for generating military utility using robotic and autonomous systems (RAS). We think holistically about the user experience with RAS and address the pain points, product gaps, and delivery bottlenecks preventing widespread adoption. That is why we are developing a robotic combat system that operationalizes RAS and integrates them with existing infrastructure and current capability frameworks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Expertise autonomous systems through previous business development roles or operational experience
• Experience in the technical, programmatic, and operational challenges of autonomous systems and / or crewed aviation.
• 2-3 years consultant in the Aerospace and Defense Field.
• Experience with government business development, government contract structures, and government proposal processes.
• Prior military or contracting experience, or experience in DoD or Government. Ability to travel 30-50%, some International.
• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, physics, robotics, or computer science. in electrical engineering, physics or computer science.
• Currently has and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret Top Secret security clearance.

About the Position

The contractor will support a US Government Agency's budget-related functions and financial management, administering political risk insurance, financing, investment funds, equity, grants and pre-investment programs, and monitoring and maintaining transactions pursuant to the government's policies and procedures for financial monitoring.

Work involves maintaining international finance billing and collection system, preparing automated and special billings in accordance with individual transaction requirements as indicated in loan documents, ensuring timely execution and delivery of billings and payments with borrowers, as well as with third party agents (i.e., fiscal agents, brokers and trustees) as appropriate, including the timely notification, payment amount and verification as detailed in finance agreements, providing loan balances, interest rates, interest accrued, and other financial information to government auditors and interagency stakeholders with the U.S. Government, assisting in preparation of quarterly and ad-hoc reports, engaging in frequent communication with clients to reconcile compounded interest and outstanding. The work also involves active coordination and cooperation with Treasury and State department officials to support the U.S. government’s role in the Paris Club.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the monitoring of all financial flows including billing and application of receipts related to their assigned portfolio and developing PC-based applications to facilitate reporting and analysis. Ensures that loan balances, payment schedules, interest rates and other financial parameters match terms of underlying loan documentation. Ensures timely delivery of invoices and Notices of Past Due amounts (NPDs).
• Recommends alternative means of processing transactions with complicated and interrelated or unique characteristics. Recommends changes in policies and procedures to accommodate recurring problems and issues.
• Maintains in-depth and detailed knowledge of Oracle Loans financial system. Manages billing schedule, payoffs, and processes prepayments.
• Independently prepares accurate and precise audit confirmations for borrowers. Provides loan balances, interest rates, interest accrued, and other financial information for audits.
• Prepares portfolio reports as needed for internal and external parties, including periodic data calls for the State Department and Treasury.
•  Work with Portfolio Services officers to ensure continuity of all billing, payment and reporting obligations with respect to their loan portfolio. Will convey expertise regarding the scope, depth, and breadth of the portfolio.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Responds to all requests in a timely manner. Conducts daily duties with courtesy and professionalism.

Qualifications 

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a preferred focus/major in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field or combination of education and related professional experience in the area of finance, banking, or related fields.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in dealing with loan balances, payment schedules, interest rates and other financial parameters that match terms of underlying loan documentation. Has experience preparing accurate and precise audit confirmations for borrowers. Prepares portfolio reports as needed for internal and external parties.
• Shall be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Knowledge of commercial and institutional banking products, services, and processes, including comprehensive understanding of loan database operating systems. Ability to export and summarize loan data via Excel, both for individual loans and a portfolio of loans.
