As a Data - Machine Learning Intern, you'll gain professional experience supporting Loka’s certified specialists, technical experts and PhDs while elevating your skillset, building a portfolio and launching projects you’re proud of.

The Role

• Assist in designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines to ensure clean, reliable and timely data.
• Collaborate with the team to implement and optimize ETL processes.
• Integrate data from various sources into warehouses, data lakes and lakehouses.
• Support data management tasks, including data cleaning, validation and transformation.
• Understand business objectives and develop models that help achieve them, plus metrics to track their progress.
• Implement ML systems using classical ML, DL and Foundation Models following best practices.
• Participate in client communications by helping gather requirements and communicate deliverables.
• Explore and visualize data with a careful eye for issues that require data cleaning as well as differences in data distribution that may affect performance after deployment.
• Identify and analyze model errors.

Required Hard Skills

• Last year of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
• Proficient in English
• Basic knowledge of Python, ML, and Data libraries
• Basic knowledge of Databases
• Understanding of statistical, ML and deep learning algorithms
• Experience visualizing and manipulating big datasets
• Problem solving

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and deliver workshops, online courses and learning materials to help employees build skills, especially management skills and technical abilities. 
• Improve training programs by establishing metrics to measure effectiveness and then implement appropriate changes.
• Build an ongoing training library so employees can continue developing their skills and grow into new roles whether technical or leadership roles.
• Manage HR processes such as annual performance reviews and goal-setting for managers and employees and report on their effectiveness.
• Be the face of talent development at Loka. 

Qualifications

• Five years experience in Talent Development, Learning & Development or similar HX roles balanced between learning and development, within a tech and remote-first company
• Expertise in instructional design, e-learning and adult learning principles; experience with LMS platforms and digital training tools are a plus
• Strong focus on data and metrics, with the ability to design and track measurable learning outcomes and communicate the impact to stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate across teams, support managers in development planning, and engage employees at all levels
• Ability to adjust learning strategies to accommodate diverse remote teams across different regions and cultures

Additional Requirements

• Excellent English: As a global team, we work entirely in English for meetings, customer calls and business communications.
• Experience in manager and leadership development is a plus.
