Job Summary 

As a Senior Full Stack Developer - Ruby on Rails, React & Python (19946), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.  

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications with a strong focus on backend development using Ruby on Rails
• Build and enhance frontend components using React to deliver seamless user experiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and high-quality technical solutions
• Drive technical decisions, mentor team members, and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices

Qualifications and Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in full stack software development
• Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails and MySQL for backend development
• Experience building frontend applications using React
• Experience working with tools such as Redis, Elasticsearch, and Sidekiq
• Intermediate experience with Python or willingness to learn and work with it
• Familiarity with TypeScript is a plus
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership and ability to work independently and in teams

Responsabilidades y Funciones 

• Diseñar, desarrollar y mantener soluciones robustas utilizando Ruby on Rails asegurando calidad, escalabilidad y buenas prácticas de arquitectura
• Participar activamente en decisiones técnicas, proponiendo mejoras y asegurando estándares de desarrollo alineados a un entorno senior
• Colaborar con equipos multidisciplinarios aportando comunicación clara, criterio técnico y liderazgo informal
• Optimizar rendimiento y estabilidad de aplicaciones mediante el uso eficiente de bases de datos, motores de búsqueda y sistemas de procesamiento asíncrono

Requisitos y Habilidades 

• Experiencia avanzada en Ruby on Rails
• Dominio avanzado de MySQL incluyendo modelado y optimización de consultas
• Experiencia intermedia trabajando con React
• Experiencia intermedia con Redis y Sidekiq para manejo de procesos asíncronos
• Experiencia intermedia con ElasticSearch para búsquedas y optimización de consultas
• Conocimiento intermedio en Python con disposición real para seguir desarrollándose en este lenguaje
• Conocimiento deseable en TypeScript
• Experiencia en diseño de arquitecturas escalables y buenas prácticas de desarrollo
• Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para interactuar con stakeholders técnicos y no técnicos
• Alta proactividad, pensamiento crítico, autonomía y capacidad de toma de decisiones técnicas

We're looking for a Semi Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our remote multicultural team and be part of the full development cycle of web and mobile apps: including understanding business needs, designing solutions for specific problems, and developing the product. They should be able to work independently with little support from other devs to develop high-quality software, which is aligned with client needs and company standards.

What are the main responsibilities of this role?

• Develop well-designed and high-quality code, with automated tests.
• Participate in the overall management of the project (planning and review calls, board and story-map maintenance, etc).
• Ensure the development of high-quality code across the company.
• Write meaningful code reviews.
• Collaborate with internal initiatives.
• Encourage project and company technical improvement.
• Assist team members and generate meaningful discussions during disagreements.
• Execute the right level of documentation for the project.

Which skills and experience do we envision for this role?

• Software experience from degree studies.
• +2 years approx. of experience in the IT field.
• At least 2 years of experience developing apps with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience developing automated tests with Ruby on Rails, preferably using Rspec.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases design, implementation and best practices.
• Experience working with agile methodologies and within an agile environment.
• Advanced English skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
• Experience with AI development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude
