Overview:

Databricks is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance PMO and Operations, with a specialized focus on FP&A. You will be responsible for driving organization, transformation, innovation, and operational efficiency at scale, as well as managing key programs across global Finance teams within the CFO organization and with our cross-functional stakeholders. You will interface with leadership to ensure transparency and visibility into our programs and projects.

You will partner with teams across the Finance organization, including various FP&A teams (Corporate, GTM, Product, etc.) and partners within the broader CFO org. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, People, Engineering, Product, Go-to-Market, and Pricing. You will own project and program management, including OKR setting, process optimization, transformation roadmaps, and organizational management and communications on behalf of the FP&A team. 

Your passion should be collaborating with FP&A and other cross-functional partners to drive programs for efficiency and transformative change across the Finance organization. The ability to plan and execute effectively while collaborating across teams and locations will be key to success in this role. In this role, you will remove friction for the Finance team by developing organization-wide standards, leading programs, including communications, reporting, and metrics, optimizing processes, and driving technology improvements. You will also leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve Finance workflows and optimize our team’s work, enabling smarter decision-making, predictive insights, and scalable automation across core Finance processes.

The impact you will have:

• FP&A Project and Program Management:
• Facilitate the annual FP&A goal and OKR setting process and track/drive the execution of those goals
• Streamline and own planning, intake, and prioritization processes across FP&A on key priorities related to Data and AI, systems enhancements and process improvements, ensuring alignment with the Company and Finance team’s goals and strategy
• Manage multiple complex, cross-functional programs, including working with stakeholders from IT, Engineering, Sales, and other Finance teams
• FP&A Process Optimization:
• Collaborate with FP&A teams to document and evaluate existing FP&A processes
• Drive end-to-end FP&A process optimization and standardization, leading the re-architecting of processes as necessary ensuring success criteria and metrics are achieved, and stakeholder enablement is completed
• Partner with cross-functional and internal Finance teams to implement scalable, automated solutions leveraging our Databricks product as well as AI and machine learning tools where applicable
• FP&A Organizational Management and Communications:
• Support the design and buildout of an FP&A organization that supports Databricks’ growth
• Facilitate recurring FP&A leadership meetings and FP&A all-hands meetings, including creating agendas and content
• Lead executive communications and reporting to ensure transparency on project progress, risks, and outcomes

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of experience working in or with FP&A teams
• 8+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects and programs with demonstrated success in process optimization and automation
• Expertise in program management, executive communications, reporting, and metrics
• Experience implementing or managing AI and automation tools within Finance organizations
• Expertise in planning, OKRs, and QBRs
• Experience in process improvement and optimization
• Proficiency with JIRA, project management tools, and reporting systems
• SaaS industry experience is a plus
• SQL or Python experience is a plus
• Expert-level presentation skills, including the ability to develop impactful presentations using Google Slides

As a Director in Accounting Advisory, you will provide various accounting advisory services including, but not limited to, IPO and M&A Readiness, CFO Advisory, SEC Compliance & Financial Reporting, Transaction Advisory, Technical Accounting Research & Position Papers, and addressing the need for continuous improvement and optimization of the finance and accounting functions. In addition, the ideal candidate has a strong desire to build and maintain a book of business.To succeed in this role, you should also have strong coaching and team management skills, as well as the desire to mentor staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delegate the preparation of the financial statements and technical accounting position papers to the engagement team members for both public and private companies, as well as other required support materials.
• Independently research and oversee the research by team members of complex accounting topics, to evaluate potential solutions and provide guidance to the team on next steps.
• Review accounting memos, financial statements, and other client deliverables prepared by engagement team members, ensuring general accounting standards are applied appropriately. Provide detailed review comments to preparer(s).
• Independently provide conclusions and recommendations on application of complex accounting guidance to clients and external parties, as requested by the client.
• Independently facilitate calls with the SEC, client auditors, client legal counsel, etc. as deemed necessary to accomplish project goals.
• Assist engagement partners in developing budget plans, communicate those budgets to the engagement team and monitor team progress.
• Take ownership of the engagement while managing upward and downward expectations to ensure deadlines are met and project stays on budget.
• Lead multiple engagement teams simultaneously to further the Firm’s goals and objectives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field) required.
• 10+ years of relative accounting experience; public accounting or professional services experience highly preferred.
• Experience with public companies.
• CPA is required.
• Strong working knowledge/expertise with any of the following:
  • Preparation of SEC filings including Form 10-K, 10-Q, S-1 and 8-K/A
  • Addressing SEC Comment Letters
  • Technical Accounting Research & Position Papers
  • IPO Readiness & Reporting

• Leverage firm templates and technology to roll forward financial statements and trial balances. 
• Identify time allocated to out of scope tasks not identified in the scope of work and alert manager.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, Centri discloses the compensation range for this position as $60,000-80,000 annually. This range reflects the expected base salary for candidates who meet the qualifications and experience outlined in the job posting. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, relevant experience, education, and geographic location. Additional components such as performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits may be offered as part of the total compensation package.
