Senior Fullstack Developer

Senior Software Developers collaborate with Business and Quality Analysts, Designers, Project Managers and more to design software solutions that will create meaningful change for our clients. They listen thoughtfully to understand the context of a business problem and write clean and iterative code to deliver a powerful end result whilst consistently advocating for better engineering practices. Senior Developers are the technologists who cultivate this environment while driving teams toward delivering on an aspirational tech vision and acting as mentors for more junior-level consultants. You will leverage deep technical knowledge to solve complex business problems and proactively assess your team’s health, code quality and nonfunctional requirements.
Job responsibilities
- You will learn and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
- You will use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software as well as value to end customers as early as possible.
- You will work in collaborative, value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for our clients.
- You will create large-scale distributed systems out of microservices.
- You will collaborate with a variety of teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes and ensure best practices and UX specifications are embedded along the way.
- You will apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
- You will efficiently utilize DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left in development.
- You will oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to deployment and everything in between.
- You will act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and leadership skills.
Job qualifications
Technical Skills
- You have experience using one or more development languages (NodeJS (NestJS), Angular) with experience in Object-Oriented programming.
- You can skillfully write high-quality, well-tested code and you are comfortable with Object-Oriented programming.
- You are comfortable with Agile methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and/or Kanban.
- You have a good awareness of TDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery approaches/tools.
- Bonus points if you have working knowledge of React.
- English and Spanish advanced.
Professional Skills
- You enjoy influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed.
- Presence in the external tech community: you willingly share your expertise with others via speaking engagements, contributions to open source, blogs and more.
- You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives.

Sobre el Equipo/Rol
Buscamos Software Engineer Senior para unirse a nuestro equipo de Orquestación de Datos (Data Orchestration). Este equipo es fundamental para nuestra misión, ya que construye y mantiene los sistemas que potencian las verificaciones de antecedentes (background checks) precisas y eficientes en múltiples dominios, incluidos antecedentes penales, laborales, educativos y otras fuentes clave.
Como Software Engineer en el equipo de Orquestación de Datos, trabajarás en proyectos de alto impacto que contribuyen directamente a la funcionalidad central de los servicios de verificación de antecedentes de Checkr. Serás fundamental para mejorar nuestro enrutamiento y sistemas de búsqueda, potenciar las capacidades de manipulación de datos y asegurar la fiabilidad y precisión de nuestros sistemas de búsqueda de registros.
Lo que harás
- Diseñar, desarrollar y mantener sistemas escalables y eficientes para la búsqueda de registros.
- Optimizar los algoritmos, el enrutamiento y los sistemas de búsqueda para mejorar la velocidad y la precisión de las verificaciones de antecedentes.
- Colaborar con equipos multifuncionales para implementar y mejorar las funcionalidades de búsqueda.
- Garantizar la integridad de los datos y el cumplimiento de los requisitos legales y de privacidad.
- Participar en discusiones de arquitectura y contribuir a la toma de decisiones técnicas.
- Orientar (mentor) a ingenieros junior y promover las mejores prácticas dentro del equipo.
- Solucionar problemas complejos en entornos de producción.
- Trabajar estrechamente con gerentes de producto (Product Managers) y otras partes interesadas para definir e implementar nuevas funcionalidades.
Lo que aportarás
- Dominio avanzado del inglés es obligatorio. (por favor adjuntar CV en inglés en tu postulación)
- Disponibilidad para trabajar en modalidad híbrida en Santiago, vamos 3 días de la semana a la oficina.
- +5 años de experiencia en desarrollo de software full-stack.
- Fuerte dominio de al menos uno de los siguientes lenguajes: Ruby (preferido), Python o Golang.
- Experiencia con algoritmos de búsqueda y procesamiento de datos a gran escala.
- Sólida comprensión de los sistemas de bases de datos, tanto SQL como NoSQL.
- Familiaridad con tecnologías en la nube (preferiblemente AWS).
- Conocimiento de las mejores prácticas de seguridad y las preocupaciones sobre la privacidad de los datos.
- Experiencia con arquitectura de microservicios y API RESTful.
- Fuertes habilidades de resolución de problemas y atención al detalle.
- Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar en un entorno colaborativo.
- Una mentalidad de jugador a con un fuerte sesgo hacia la acción: elevas el estándar, te mueves con urgencia, te mantienes resiliente ante la ambigüedad y asumes la responsabilidad para lograr resultados significativos.

At Checkr, we believe an in office work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO; San Francisco, CA; Nashville, TN; and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 3+ days a week. In-office perks are provided, such as lunch five times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks and beverages. A relocation stipend may be available for those willing to relocate to a Checkr hub location.
