The Role Purpose 

• Be part of an agile team to develop a scalable, highly available global voice platform 

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Engineering leaders and Test Engineers Understand performance and scalability principles and apply them when developing software 

• Troubleshoot and support current platform in production (we embrace DevOps) Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code using JavaScript, Java, Spring, and related technologies 

• Write unit and functional tests, be able to document and communicate clearly 
   

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications Required 

• 5+ years of industry experience in backend development (Java) 

• 5+ years of industry experience in frontend development (JavaScript, TypeScript, React) 

• Deep knowledge and experience with frameworks such as Spring 

• Hands on Experience in designing and implementing scalable, high performing Microservices providing REST APIs 

• Strong expertise in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks. 

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS. 

• Expertise server-side technologies and databases (SQL or NoSQL). 

• Experience working on complex problems spanning multiple products and systems 

• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team Positive, self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude with a strong sense of ownership 

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
   

Desirable 

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. 

• Knowledge of real-time communications (SIP, RTP, etc.) is a plus. 

• Experience with Backbone, Handlebars. 

• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Nightwatch)

Role Purpose

The role of a Senior Software Engineer in the Core Applications team is to design, develop, and maintain software solutions across the Core Applications software suite. Responsibilities include software architecture, design and development, testing and documentation across our backend and front-end platforms to deliver end-to-end features, working with product owners and designers to design and deliver new features and create high-quality user interfaces, taking operational responsibility for the performance and quality of services owned by the team, including taking part in an on-call rotation, deep diving into cutting edge technologies and working with the products team to transfer ideas into products. The role is also responsible for mentoring other developers at Five9.

How You Contribute

• Understands various programming languages, frameworks, and development methodologies, which allow you to make informed decisions and solve complex technical challenges.

• Writing high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code. Should follow coding best practices and contribute to the development of software modules, features, and functionalities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. When problems arise, you use your experience and problem-solving skills to identify the root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Ensure that the development stays on track, milestones are met, and the project aligns with business objectives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance professionals, to ensure that everyone is aligned on project goals and progress.

• Follows and contributes to processes, documentation, specifications, and APIs.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

Required

• Highly proficient in a variety of programming languages, including but not limited to TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, PHP, or others as required.

• Strong experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks like React.

• Strong experience with server-side technologies, REST API design and implementation, microservice architecture, databases (SQL, NoSQL, and Redis), and back-end frameworks like Java Spring Boot.

• Awareness of web security best practices and the ability to implement security measures to protect applications and data.

• A portfolio of past projects showcasing full-stack design and development skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, performant, and scalable code and solutions on time and within scope.

• Ability to mentor other developers directly and via code reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.

Desirable

• Experience with Contact Centre, IVR, Virtual Agents, VoIP and telecommunications service providers is advantageous.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

What you'll be doing:

• Data Analysis & Visualization:
  • Design, build, and maintain visually compelling dashboards, reports, and charts using advanced visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Know how of when and how to design data model for effective Dashboards yielding higher efficiency and lesser loading time
  • Transform raw data into actionable insights by analysing trends and patterns and presenting them through intuitive visualizations.

• SQL Expertise:

• Continuous Improvement:

• Technical Skills:

Who we seek:

BigID is looking for a Principal Premium Support Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on, client-facing support role where you will be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional product assistance
• Helping with configuration questions
• Capturing enhancement requests
• Troubleshooting and researching product issues
• Collaborating effectively with diverse internal teams and external customers, even in challenging situations.
• Partnering with Cross-functional teams
• Facilitating escalation
• Expediting resolutions
• Correcting and maintaining account health
• Managing customer accounts from a technical support perspective

You will work with customers, other support and services team members, and our engineering organization to resolve complex problems, acting as an advocate for our clients within BigID. You will balance both proactive monitoring, discussion and planning to develop actionable growth paths for your assigned customers as well as reactive trouble shooting and quick issue resolution to arrive at optimal account health and product adoption. Successful candidates will have prior experience providing technical support to enterprise customers at the Tier 2 or Tier 3 level. A software development background and/or escalation management experience is a strong plus.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate closely with assigned clients to understand their requests, develop appropriate action plans to address their concerns or questions, and engage necessary resources to execute these plans.
• Provide assigned clients with timely updates on their concerns or questions throughout the resolution process.
• Work closely with our Engineering and Product Management teams to document product issues, field-raised enhancement requests, and potential product improvements.
• Act as a "Voice-of-the-Customer" to help prioritize issues, requests, and improvements.
• Partner with our Client Services team during solution deployment engagements and assist in resolving encountered issues.
• Cultivate productive dynamics with the other account team members to ensure proper alignment and shared customer temperature assessments.
• Develop in-depth technical knowledge of the product and its interactions within highly varied technology environments.

What you’ll bring:

• 6+ years of experience in information technology or technical product support, with at least 4 years in a customer-facing role, preferably within enterprise corporate environments.
• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or other related technical disciplines. (Extensive professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.)
• Meaningful experience with the installation, configuration, and management of UNIX or Linux-based Operating Systems, including:
  • Basic shell proficiency (bash, sh, ksh, tcsh, etc.)
  • Experience with package management systems (apt/dpkg, yum/rpm, etc.)
  • File archiving tools (tar, gz, zip, bz2)
  • Remote access and file transfer protocols (SSH, SCP, SFTP)
  • File sharing technology (NFS, SMB/CIFS)
