JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

The Infusion Technician assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing intravenous medications (chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy) under the supervision of medical oncologists and oncology RNs to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of IV medications for patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

• Compounding IV medications: This involves measuring and mixing medications, sterile solutions, and additives according to established protocols and guidelines. IV technicians must follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during the compounding process.
• Labeling and packaging: IV technicians are responsible for properly labeling and packaging the compounded IV medications, ensuring that all necessary information, such as patient name, medication name, dosage, and expiration date, is clearly indicated.
• Inventory management: IV technicians are responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of IV medications, quantities, lot numbers/expiration date accuracy, supplies, and equipment. This includes ordering, receiving, and restocking medications as needed.
• Quality control: IV technicians must adhere to quality control standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, sterility, and safety of compounded IV medications. IV technicians will also be involved in department quality improvement initiatives.
• Environmental monitoring: IV pharmacy technicians participate in maintaining both environmental controls (ex: filling out appropriate logs, daily/monthly cleaning) and personnel controls (ex: donning appropriate PPE).
• Hood certification: IV technicians participate in the certification procedure every 6 months.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor such as cross training in oral chemo dispensaries.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Minimum two years’ experience in compounding IV admixtures, preferably including IV chemotherapy.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred.

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician at Fuze Health plays a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists, managing inventory, and ensuring the accurate and efficient fulfillment of prescriptions. Reporting to Pharmacy Operations leadership, this role is key to delivering high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance, and driving operational excellence across the pharmacy team within the respective FuzeRx location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prescription Fulfillment: Pick and fill medications in accordance with pharmacy practice guidelines and medication safety standards.
• Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensure product availability.
• Patient Chart Management: Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records and prescription data.
• Pharmacist Support: Partner with pharmacists to address medication-related inquiries and support patient care initiatives.
• Medication Packing & Delivery Coordination: Pack medications according to standard procedures and coordinate deliveries, including obtaining refill authorizations from physician offices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall patient experience.
• Workstation Management: Manage assigned pharmacy tasks and workstations to promptly, safely, and accurately complete prescription orders.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to pharmacy laws and regulations governing technician responsibilities, and follow all company policies.
• Performance Tracking: Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) established by leadership to ensure operational and quality benchmarks are achieved.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry best practices, technology tools, and pharmacy trends to maintain a high standard of performance.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience as a pharmacy technician (preferred).
• 1+ year of retail pharmacy experience in a high-volume setting (preferred).
• Active, clear, and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in your state of residence.
• Solid understanding of pharmacy laws and technician-specific regulations.
• Strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in pharmacy technology systems and willingness to learn new tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work at a computer for extended durations, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and patient support.

Registered Nurse

The Supervisor, Pharmacy Operations at Fuze Health supports the Pharmacy Operations team by overseeing prescription processing activities and leading a team of pharmacy technicians. This role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient service while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity standards. The Supervisor works cross-functionally with leadership and stakeholders to optimize processes, monitor performance metrics, and continuously improve pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient prescription processing and operational excellence.
• Operational Efficiency: Monitor workflows and production activities to improve efficiency, quality metrics, and operational performance.
