About the Role:
We are seeking a technically strong, hands-on Senior Database Reliability Engineer to help design, build, and scale the database platform used across Sezzle’s applications.
This is not a traditional DBA role. This role is for an engineer who can combine deep database knowledge with software engineering, infrastructure engineering, and platform thinking. You will help build the systems, libraries, automation, standards, and guardrails that make database usage across Sezzle reliable, secure, scalable, and easy for developers to adopt correctly.
As a Senior Database Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving how Sezzle applications connect to, migrate, operate, observe, and scale their databases. You will work across application teams, infrastructure, security, and engineering leadership to define patterns that improve database reliability by design — not just by operational response.
You should be comfortable owning problems end-to-end: understanding application behavior, reading code, reviewing database access patterns, building shared tooling, improving connection management, designing migration safety checks, analyzing production performance, and helping developers use databases in safer and more scalable ways.

As Global People Data & Tech Director, you will lead the effort to design and build this from the ground up. You will define what the agentic HR stack looks like: the data models that make agents actually useful, the orchestration layer that lets them act with minimal human friction, the audit surfaces that let people stay in control without becoming bottlenecks, and the foundational platform that scales to 40+ markets without scaling the team that builds it. Agentic development practices aren't a side methodology here — they are how this organisation will operate. We’re looking for a Partnerships Lead to join our team in Brazil. We're looking for an AWS Cost Optimization Specialist. At Clara, our infrastructure is the backbone of our financial services, and managing it efficiently is key to our scalability and unit economics. You will design and execute Clara’s AWS cost optimization strategy, moving beyond simple monitoring to proactive financial engineering.
Your mission is to bridge the gap between Engineering and Finance, ensuring that every dollar spent on the cloud translates into direct value for our customers. You will drive visibility into cost per transaction and cost per product while building the automated governance required for a high-growth fintech.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy & Analysis: Design and execute the global AWS cost optimization strategy, continuously identifying savings across EC2, ECS, and Aurora clusters.
Governance & Tagging: Implement standardized tagging strategies for precise cost allocation by domain, squad, country, and product.
Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize AWS Kafka clusters, OpenSearch storage strategies, and networking/data transfer costs to ensure lean operations.
FinOps Automation: Define and implement automated shutdown policies for non-production environments and configure advanced anomaly detection and budget alerts.
Data & Dashboards: Build executive and operational dashboards using AWS Cost Explorer, Athena, or QuickSight to provide real-time visibility into cloud spend.
Architectural Partnership: Partner with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures and establish long-term cloud financial governance standards.

● Expertise in web technologies (HTML, CSS) and frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, MVC .Net, etc.).
● Proficiency in server-side scripting (Python, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, etc.).
● Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
● Experience in API integrations across applications, vendors, and cloud environments.
● Understanding of modern application architectures (event-based systems, queues, microservices).
● Development experience on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
● Desire to integrate innovative technologies into development workflow
● Familiarity with Generative AI technologies
● Proven ability to lead a workstream and support others while contributing individually.
● Experience configuring AWS resources.
Preferred Qualifications
● BS in a computing-related field, or commensurate experience.
● Experience with testing and automation.
● Experience with UI/UX.
● Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI
● Experience with app dev acceleration tools like Amazon Q Developer, GitHub CoPilot, Cursor.AI, or similar.
● Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
● Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (SAM, Cloudformation, Terraform, etc).

The Data Practice Director is a senior leadership role within Caylent's Cloud Data Engineering (CDE) practice, reporting directly to the Data Practice Leader.
