What you’ll do:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of System, Software and Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) Design Assurance processes for Archer internal development and for Suppliers.
- Review and approve Software/AEH life-cycle data for Archer internal development and for Suppliers.
- Execute System Design Assurance Reviews for Archer internal system development according to the established system processes and tools for compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761 and support the Certification Authorities reviews for ARP4754A.
- Execute Supplier Oversight and Design Assurance Company Reviews as SME for Systems, Software and AEH developments according to Archer established process for compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761, DO-178C and supplements, DO-254 and other certification regulations.
- Support the generation and independent reviews of Archer System, Software and AEH development and verification processes, as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Archer System, Software and AEH processes, with focus on compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761, DO-254 DO-178C and supplements.
- Interface with FAA DERs and Certification Authorities for coordination, execution and follow-up of systems, software and AEH compliance reviews.
- Maintain and control the issues found in all System/Software/AEH design assurance activities until resolution.
What you need:
- 10+ years of experience in System and Software/AEH Design Assurance activities for aerospace standards.
- At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Experience with full lifecycle safety critical systems, software/AEH complying with design assurance standards like ARP4754A/B, ARP4761, DO-254 and DO-178C with supplements.
- Experience with multiple systems and software/AEH environments and tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in fast-paced, demanding work environments.
- Experience with agile/lean methodologies.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with Tool Qualification following DO-330.
- Experience with Model Based Development and Verification following DO-331.
- Experience with DO-326/DO-356 and DO-355.
- Experience with System and Software/AEH developments for an aircraft OEM.
- Experience with FAA Certification Compliance Reviews and regulations.
- Familiarity with Archer CM Tools, e.g. Polarion, Collaborator, Git/Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira and Teamcenter.

Senior Flight Control Software Engineer (Brazil)

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join the software team at Archer. The role consists in designing, developing and testing safety critical software for Archer’s fault tolerant flight controls system.

- Familiarity with debuggers and lab instruments such oscilloscopes and bus analyzers

Staff Software Engineer, Model Based Design and Verification

In this role, you'll be the bridge between our internal Technical sales & Sourcing teams and our external supplier network, focusing on, pro-active network supplier for large & production deals, optimizing supplier performance, managing risk, and ensuring our partners are prepared for complex, high-stakes projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Development & Engagement
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with our diverse network of manufacturing partners to increase their engagement and capacity.
- Engage with new supplier partners onboarded for the purpose of serving production programs, and facilitate partner success in simultaneously navigating the Xometry platform and serving the customer needs.
- Coach partners on industry best practices related to documentation, finishing processes, and quality assurance.
- Support partner readiness for complex and highly regulated programs, including those in the aerospace, defense, and medical industries
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams, including sourcing, engineering, and project management, to ensure our partners' capabilities align with the Statement of Work (SOW) requirements for each project.
- Support Technical Account Managers (TAMs) and Project Managers (PMs) by assessing new partner capabilities and fit for new bids and proposals.
- Flag potential risks early, such as capacity constraints, financial weaknesses, or geopolitical exposures, to inform strategic decision-making.
- Assist in root-cause analysis of late shipments (e.g., finishing delays, raw material shortages, inspection bottlenecks) and help partners implement sustainable mitigation plans.
Controlled Processes & Special Qualifications
- Support the qualification of finishing suppliers (e.g., plating, anodizing, chemical conversion, coatings, paint/prime) to meet stringent aerospace, defense, and automotive standards.
- Assist partners in pursuing and maintaining special process qualifications such as NADCAP, AMS, VAPS, PPS, and TS16949.
- Oversee the verification and validation of controlled processes, including heat treatment, plating, and coatings.
- Help identify and address compliance requirements from frameworks like DoD, FAA, TCCA, DFARS, and ITAR, ensuring our partners meet all necessary regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of [e.g., 3-5] years of experience in supplier development, supplier quality, or a similar role within a manufacturing or technical environment within manufacturing, supply chain, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Problem-solving mindset and a talent for mediating complex situations.
- Knowledge of special processes and industry certifications (NADCAP, AS9100, etc.) is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ITAR, DFARS) and their implications for manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
- Willingness to travel to supplier locations as required.
