Responsibilities

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the architecture, scalability, and reliability of Workato’s distributed cloud platform. You’ll design and optimize the systems that allow our services to run securely and efficiently at scale. This is a highly technical role that requires deep experience with cloud infrastructure, Linux internals, and large-scale distributed systems.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (GoLang) with deep Go expertise to join the Gateways team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with expectations to own subsystems end-to-end and drive technical direction in your area of ownership.

The Gateways team owns Workato's API management, gateway, and routing infrastructure — the layer that sits between external consumers and the platform's core services. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of one of our autonomous agile teams. The Payments Team

The goal of the Payments team is to enable revenue generation for the entire Proton ecosystem. This comes in the form of introducing new payment methods for users to architecting our client libraries. This team has impact across all of Proton's products and is critical to the success of the business as a whole.

• As Proton is a global Company, the Payments Team works to continuously expand the possibilities for users to pay with various payment methods, beyond just plain credit cards or Paypal.

The Payments Team

The goal of the Payments team is to enable revenue generation for the entire Proton ecosystem. This comes in the form of introducing new payment methods for users to architecting our client libraries. • You have 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, including familiarity with the different pieces of technology involved in building modern web applications.
• You take pride in delivering high-quality and powerful products to customers while also championing technical excellence.
• You have experience developing backends in Ruby and relational databases.
• You have experience with modern front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript, and enjoy working on the client-side.
• You’ve worked with a variety of web APIs and developed backend services using modern OOP practices.
• You're excited to work collaboratively within engineering and across functional teams.
• You’re eager to contribute your ideas and experiences to help Affinity continuously improve as a product and as a company.

Tech stack

Our systems are built in Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and Redis on the backend, and Typescript and React in the frontend. Our infrastructure is hosted by AWS and runs on Kubernetes. However, this role is more heavily focused on backend development, but will have some frontend development initiatives.
