How you’ll demonstrate Ownership

We are seeking a Controller (Netherlands) & Global Treasurer to lead financial control for our Netherlands entities (and future European entities such as France and Germany) while owning global treasury strategy and liquidity management for Cognite worldwide. Based in the Netherlands, this role combines hands-on regional controllership with global treasury leadership across multiple countries, currencies, and banking environments.

You will ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls for European entities while building a scalable treasury and cash management framework that supports Cognite’s growth across the US, Europe, and other global markets. This role will also help establish a European finance hub capable of onboarding new entities quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

• Oversee accounting and financial control for Cognite’s Netherlands entities and future European entities.

• Manage and review work from external accounting partners to ensure accuracy across AP, payroll, equity, and complex financial arrangements.

• Lead month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure audit-ready financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory regulations, tax, and corporate filings across relevant jurisdictions.

International Finance Operations

• Build scalable processes, systems, and automation across multi-entity European operations using NetSuite and treasury tools.

• Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations to standardize accounting policies and integrate new entities into Cognite’s global finance framework.

Global Treasury & Risk Management

• Lead global cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management across the US, Europe, and other regions.

• Manage banking relationships, international cash structures, and treasury operations.

• Develop FX, interest-rate, and counterparty risk strategies in a multi-currency environment.

• Design a scalable international banking architecture (e.g., cash pooling, virtual accounts) to optimize global cash management.

As a strategic Senior Commercial Counsel and Company Secretary, you will be the engine room of our deal desk and the guardian of our corporate integrity.While this is a Global Role assisting our distributed teams in Norway, India, and beyond, your primary theater of operations will be Europe and the Middle East (EMEA). You will lead high-stakes negotiations while maturing our governance frameworks as we prepare for the public markets.

What You’ll Do

Commercial Negotiation & Revenue Enablement

• Adopt a solution-oriented approach to lead negotiations for complex, multi-year B2B global SaaS agreements, ensuring legal acts as a business enabler rather than a bottleneck.
• Provide expert legal support to the wider global team, ensuring consistency in our global commercial playbooks
• Partner with Sales leadership to streamline customer assurance processes, facilitating rapid deal closure and supporting exponential revenue growth

Corporate Governance & Company Secretary

• Oversee the corporate governance framework to ensure robust decision-making, transparency, and accountability across all global entities.
• Organize Board and Audit Committee meetings, ensuring all agendas, minutes, and resolutions are precisely recorded and archived.
• Maintain the official Shareholders' Register and manage the UBO Register filings with the KVK.
• Ensure timely filing of Annual Financial Statements and corporate changes with the KVK (Chamber of Commerce).

Digital Innovation & Scalability

• Champion the use of digital tools to modernize how traditional compliance is handled. Move away from manual, headcount-heavy processes by implementing automation and technology-driven solutions that allow the function to scale efficiently with the business.

Commercial Enablement & Agility

• Adopt a solution-oriented approach that balances risk mitigation with speed. Ensure Legal acts as a business enabler rather than a bottleneck, facilitating rapid deal closure and supporting revenue growth.
• Partner with Sales leadership to streamline customer assurance processes, ensuring that our compliance posture helps—rather than hinders—commercial velocity.

As the Data Science (DS) Leader for Value Delivery Europe, you will own and elevate the Data Science capability across the region. Your primary mission is to build a high-performing team of Data Scientists who deliver scalable, production-ready analytical and agentic solutions that accelerate customer value on Cognite Data Fusion and Dune.

You will be responsible for the professional development, methods, quality standards, and delivery excellence of the DS profession while coaching Data Scientists to operate as trusted technical advisors in industrial AI and data-driven workflows. You will ensure DS engagements are repeatable, efficient, customer-centric, and aligned with Cognite’s delivery standards.

This is a capability-building role—your time spent on billable or customer-facing execution will be limited to 20%, ensuring your focus remains on uplifting the DS community, maturing practices, and driving consistency and technical excellence across pods.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

• 7–10+ years in Data Science, Machine Learning, Agentic systems, or industrial analytics roles
• Proven track record delivering data-driven solutions in production—preferably in industrial, asset-heavy, or mission-critical environments
• Experience leading technical teams or DS communities
• Strong applied background in mathematics, statistics, ML, optimisation, or agentic workflows.
• Ability to translate industrial problems into analytical, predictive, or agent-based solutions
• Familiarity with full-stack DS:
  – backend logic (Python/SQL/pipelines)
  – UI/workflow experience (Dune, low-code/no-code, visual interfaces)
• Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• High delivery orientation with strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
