Job Responsibility

• Build new and ongoing products and services, including MCP framework with Agentic AI offerings, in SmartBear’s domains: API Design and Management, Testing and Observability.
• Primarily Focused on AI and MCP-style workflows atop SmartBear's existing products.
• Rapidly validate the feasibility of new use cases from research ideas
• Maintain an appreciation for the end-user product experience and use this knowledge to inform system implementation trade-offs
• Perform code reviews across the front-to-back-end stack and ensure a standard of high engineering quality throughout the small, but growing, engineering team.
• Deliver working code on-time and own the experience post-production
• Measure success and iterate on technical designs to improve the overall product experience

Skills Required: 

• 3-4+ Years of experience in Typescript with Python and exposure to backend frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI, with familiarity (or strong interest) in LLM or agent-based systems (e.g., LangChain/LangGraph)
• Experience running services in Docker and deploying to AWS with support from senior engineers. Uses GitHub for version control in a team setting.
• Foundational understanding of HTTP and REST APIs, client/server architecture, and modern API concepts (including MCP). Familiarity with NoSQL or vector databases is a plus
• Experience in full-stack development, RESTful backend services and frontends using TypeScript with Python with HTML/CSS
• Demonstrated ability to complete assigned development tasks as part of a team, including implementing features, fixing bugs, and writing tests
• Ability to work from defined requirements, asking clarifying questions and breaking problems into manageable steps, with increasing comfort handling moderately ambiguous tasks over time
• Clear and effective communication skills in English

Who you’ll be working with

We build the solutions dreamed up by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front- and back-end components and interfaces to provide a user-centered experience through web and mobile platforms.

What you’ll be doing

• Work across both new feature development and production issues, ensuring system reliability and continuous improvement.
• Actively contribute to and approve code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Apply knowledge of architecture and design patterns in solution design.
• Write expert-level unit tests and own integration test completeness at the epic level.
• Develop code with a security-centric architecture
• Be proactive in pointing out release dependencies to mitigate risks.
• Actively identify refactoring opportunities to improve code maintainability and performance.
• Confidently provide engineering estimates during sprint planning.
• Own documentation for features developed and contribute to project onboarding documentation.
• Contribute to retrospectives and own action items to improve team performance.
• Present features and progress in client demos.

What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)

Must have skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years experience as a Python Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of Python projects.
• Proficiency in Python programming language and its libraries/frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and query optimization. 
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Github, Gitlab).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure or GCP is a plus.
• Familiarity and  knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) is a plus.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing team at Tech Holding. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• At least 2+ years of experience with Node.js, React, Ruby, Python, or similar languages.
• At least 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns.
• Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Fluent in SQL scripting and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/GCP/Azure Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking protocols.
• Experience writing Unix Shell scripts and automation tasks.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git) and unit testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail.

Cross-Time-Zone Collaboration
