Together, they bring deep experience building high-growth, product-led businesses at massive scale as Adaptive builds the security layer for the AI era.
The Role
We are hiring a VP of Finance to lead our finance and accounting function. This role owns financial planning and analysis, our overall budgeting and financial strategy, and board and investor reporting. You will report directly to the CEO to manage and grow the finance organization, and support the company through future financing rounds and transactions.
Responsibilities
Strategic finance
Own the company operating model, including revenue and expense forecasting, headcount planning, scenario analysis, and burn and runway management.
Lead financial planning, monthly variance analysis, and reporting on SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC payback, Magic Number).
Produce board and investor reporting, and support fundraising and diligence processes end to end.
Partner with GTM leadership on pricing, deal structures, commission plans, and vendor and contract negotiations.
Financial operations
Oversee accounting and the monthly close, GL policy, and revenue recognition.
Own billing, collections, A/R, treasury, and working-capital management across entities and currencies.
Oversee payroll and equity operations across the US, UK, and Australia, including commissions and bonus cycles.
Lead the company to GAAP maturity and a successful first audit.
Team and systems
Hire, develop, and lead the finance and accounting team.
Own the finance systems and their integrations, and drive automation and AI-assisted workflows across the function.
Qualifications
8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally including early-career exposure to investment banking, venture capital, or private equity, followed by senior leadership roles in strategic finance or FP&A within high-growth SaaS or AI.
Experience supporting capital raises end to end, including financial models, fundraising materials, data rooms, and investor relationships.
Experience building or professionalizing a finance function at a high-growth company.
Strong command of both FP&A and accounting operations, including close, controls, billing, and payroll.
Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, including SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), accruals, and deferred revenue; experience owning a monthly close calendar.
Experience working with outside accountants and auditors, and preparing a company for its first audit.
Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency operations and SaaS contract structures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives, the board, and investors.
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced startup environment.
