As System Administrator I at Kapitus, you will be responsible for helping our company scale through the effective use of Microsoft 365 services. This will help Kapitus continue to help small business owners get access to capital so they can make payroll during tough times, scale to meet market demands, and make large purchases to scale their operations. This role is a blend of strategy and tactical execution that will give you endless opportunities to take on new responsibilities, learn new skills, and mentor others. Your teammates will be distributed between NY, VA, CA and Chennai.
What you will do:
- Support the organization-wide rollout of single sign-on (SSO) and automated user provisioning, ensuring secure and auditable access to fintech platforms and financial data systems.
- Build and maintain automation to manage cloud infrastructure, server instances, and on-premise networks in alignment with financial industry compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
- Drive continuous enhancement and administration of Microsoft 365 products to support regulated workflows and internal collaboration.
- Support an organization-wide file migration to OneDrive and SharePoint, ensuring data governance and retention policies meet regulatory requirements.
- Enhance our Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) strategy and Mobile Device Management (MDM) practices to protect sensitive financial data across all endpoints.
- Contribute to and maintain a living knowledgebase of technical documentation, runbooks, and incident response procedures.
- Help define and measure KPIs to communicate and maintain the health of critical financial services and infrastructure.
- Serve as an escalation point for Microsoft 365 and core infrastructure-related SEV1 and SEV2 incidents, coordinating with security and compliance teams as needed.
- Support identity and access management (IAM) initiatives, including role-based access control (RBAC) for internal financial applications.
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and patch management cycles to maintain a secure technology environment.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4+ years' experience working with Microsoft 365, SaaS, PaaS, and cloud environments.
- Experience supporting and managing cloud data centers and personal computer infrastructure within a regulated or security-conscious environment.
- MCSE or Enterprise Administrator Expert certification (required); security-focused certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or AZ-500 are a strong plus.
- Familiarity with fintech or financial services compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, PCI-DSS, FFIEC) is highly desirable.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms; background with Atlassian products is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) to streamline infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPNs, and zero-trust security principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a high-stakes financial environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Competitive Base Salary Range of $64,100-$102,900 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant's final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant's geographic location, skills, and experience.
