A quick look at the role
The Supply Chain Coordinator supports the day-to-day coordination and administration of the supply chain with Specialist Services, helping to ensure effective supplier management, disposal routes and supply chain processes. The role supports supplier onboarding, pricing activities, supplier communication and the maintenance of accurate supply chain information, while assisting with identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Working closely with sales, technical, operational and contract management teams, the role helps coordinate solutions for challenging waste streams, supports effective decision-making and contributes to continuous improvement across supply chain processes, performance and compliance.
Your core responsibilities.
- Coordinate supplier and disposal point negotiations to support best-value outcomes across all waste streams.
- Review, optimise and rationalise the supply chain network to support cost savings, supplier standardisation and a reduction in supplier numbers.
- Support the onboarding, approval and integration of new suppliers into the supply chain, ensuring compliance, capability and suitability.
- Analyse third-party spend and identify opportunities to support the internalisation of services and improve overall profitability.
- Coordinate and support pricing, tender submissions and new business opportunities through market assessment and cost analysis.
- Support the development of supplier agreements and waste stream specific deals to maximise value and manage cost increases effectively.
- Help maintain strong supply chain governance, including supplier processes, compliance documentation, audits and system data management.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial and operational teams to identify solutions for difficult waste streams and improve service delivery.
- Provide supply chain coordination, stakeholder support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance and business growth.
Requirements
Our essential requirements.
- Previous experience in a supply chain, logistics, procurement or coordination role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and supply chain information.
- Good understanding of Excel, with experience using data to support reporting and decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical, commercial and operational teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Experience within waste management or a similar industry would be desirable.
