📌 About the Role
We're hiring a Staff Cloud Networking Engineer to own cloud networking across our engineering organization, the first dedicated networking role at Scribe. You'll architect, build, and operate the network foundation that our platform and product teams depend on, starting with IPv6-native VPC architecture and IPv6 networking for our EKS workloads, and set the long-term technical direction as we scale across cloud providers.
🛠️ What You'll Do
Design and deploy IPv6-native VPC architecture and bring up IPv6 networking for our EKS workloads
Define the long-term strategy for how we address, connect, and scale our network, including across cloud providers
Establish the standards other teams build against as the org's first networking specialist
Serve as the authority on cloud networking decisions across engineering
Raise the networking competency of the engineers around you
Architect how we connect across clouds as our footprint expands beyond AWS
🔍 What We're Looking For
You've designed and operated AWS networking in production at scale
You have strong, vendor-agnostic networking fundamentals: IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4 and IPv6), routing, DNS, TCP/IP, BGP, and NAT
You've set technical direction across an organization, establishing standards and influencing without authority
You've deployed and troubleshot IPv6 in a cloud or large network environment, not just read about it
You have production experience with core cloud networking primitives: VPCs, transit/peering, IPAM, and private connectivity
You have Kubernetes networking experience, ideally with EKS, including CNI behavior and addressing at the pod, service, and ingress levels
✨ Nice to have
Hands-on experience with multi-cloud connectivity tooling
Experience with multi-account/multi-project cloud environments (AWS Organizations, Control Tower, landing zones, or equivalents)
Network security and compliance experience
AWS certifications (Advanced Networking – Specialty or similar)
📍 Location
Remote or hybrid, based in the Pacific time zone (USA).
💰 Compensation
Salary varies by location. All full-time employees receive equity in Scribe. Final offers depend on experience and scope.
🎁 Benefits
Health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents
Flexible paid time off and company holidays
401(k)
Paid parental leave
Daily catered lunch (SF office)
Commuter benefits
Home office stipend
